T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Happy Birthday To The World’s Best Husband!

This week’s post is dedicated to my husband – yesterday he turned 33, and I can’t express just how lucky I am to have him in my life. He’s an amazing husband, worker, friend, dad – he does it all, and always with a big smile on his face!

As I think about celebrating his birthday, I remember some of the amazing times we have had, and one big thing that comes to mind is the trip to Disney World we took last fall – and even though he’s not a huge Disney lover, he managed to have a blast (even with a broken hand!)

He really is the best, and he is patient and kind to everyone – especially me! He supports my Disney Loving lifestyle, and really what more can one ask for in a husband?

Shoutout to all the dads out there who really show up for their families – who smile and make the best of it no matter what, and who deserve to be celebrated every single day (but especially on their birthdays!)

Happy Birthday Babe!

Disney+ – 2 Months In & LOVING It!

disney-plus-investors-content-2019

I don’t know about you, but I personally couldn’t WAIT until The launch of Disney+ – it felt like something that was so needed, not just for us Disney fanatics, but for anyone and everyone with kids, without kids – basically everyone. It was needed for everyone, no matter who they are, or what age – Disney+ is basically a necessity for the world.

Ok, maybe that’s being a bit dramatic, but – I personally feel like it is the perfect addition to our TV lineup. Like many other families these days, we don’t subscribe to a traditional “Cable” service, but instead have a few streaming subscriptions – Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and now Disney+!

Now that it’s finally arrived and I have had a chance to play with it, I have to say I love the interface and how easy it is to use, and the only drawback I have seen is that the newest movies aren’t on there yet (specifically Toy Story 4 – my son has mentioned he wishes it was on there multiple times haha)

I love that it’s pretty much all family friendly, and that there are tons of “older” movies from the “Disney Vault” on there so that my husband and I can easily share the movies of our childhood with our son (most of which he has been wholly unimpressed by – but we will keep trying!)

What about you? Have you taken the plunge into Disney+? What are you loving most about it?

Disney+ Is Coming – Are YOU Ready?

disney-plus-tv-originals-2-hero-aldd

Less than a week until Disney launches their new streaming service – Disney Plus is set to release on November 12th, and I don’t know about you, but for me it feels like Christmas is coming early this year!

Of course, in true Disney fashion – you can already Sign-Up, and even get a discount for paying annually (as opposed to monthly). The monthly price is set at $6.99, but annually they are offering it for $69.99 – which is basically like getting 2 months free. Additionally, they will be offering it as an add-on to Hulu – which will cost $13 a month for a Hulu/Disney+/ESPN+ bundle

But the BIG question on everyone’s mind (including mine!) – What will actually be ON Disney+? Like – what can I watch? Will all my favorite movies/shows be on there? At launch, there will be hundreds of movies and shows to choose from – including animated classics, Disney channel shows and much more – check out the list Here

The other question I had was – can I download movies/shows to watch offline? And – according to the official Disney+ Website – you CAN! “Download any TV show or movie – Unlimited downloads on up to 10 devices, so you can take your favorites with you” This is the best news of all to me – as it means I can load up my son’s (and my!) tablets before long road trips with fresh movies and shows for us to enjoy!

Learn more about this sure to be amazing streaming service here

What about YOU will you be investing in this new service?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL – hopefully you had a fun time Trick-Or-Treating, eating candy, and enjoying all things spooky – I know I did!

I was hoping my son would pick a Toy Story costume this year to go along with his Toy Story Theme Birthday Party, but he decided “spooky” was the way to go this year! He was a (glow in the dark!) skeleton, I was a bat, my husband was a vampire, and his aunt was a ghost! I would have made a great Bo Peep I think, but as a bat I did ok I think (plus – one of my son’s classmates told me I looked like Vamipirina – so – winning there I think!)

Here’s a few snapshots of some of our Halloween fun:

I feel like we spent the last few weeks in Full-on Halloween Mode – parties and events kept us BUSY – and yesterday was a whirlwind! I went into his classroom which was so much fun to see all the kids dressed up, they did a parade and fun Halloween stations, then of course we went trick-or-treating too!

It’s hard to believe that another Halloween is done! Now – it’s time to focus on Thanksgiving and Christmas – I have started my shopping already (of course, because I am like that, ha!) – what about you? Are you ready to have the onslaught of the Holidays in effect?

Classic Disney Movie Remakes – Yay Or Nay?

Lately, Disney has been following a new trend of re-making animated Disney classics into live action films

Recently, films such as Aladdin, Dumbo & The Lion King have been re-released as live action films, and over the past few years we have seen The Jungle Book as well as Beauty And The Beast be re-done as well. And slated to be re-made are The Little Mermaid, Lady & The Tramp, Fox & The Hound, and the list goes on

The remakes have been doing well in theaters, as Disney has a VERY loyal fan base – anything Disney is always popular, and always makes a TON of money.

That being said, I have to say – I am NOT a fan of these remakes – at all. They are boring, lifeless, and lose all the magic that the originals carried with them. Maybe it’s just me, and maybe the magic is all in my head – since the original Lion King and Aladdin are ones I remember seeing in theaters as a kid (and then re-watching over and over again on VHS!), and so for movies like those – no remake can compare.

My son recently watched the animated Aladdin, and loved it – the Genie was a favorite, as was Abu – and when I asked him if he wanted to watch the live action version and showed him the trailer of it online, he was very adamant that he did NOT want to watch the remake. I don’t blame him – I don’t want to watch it either #sorrynotsorry

But – I would LOVE to hear what YOU think – are these remakes worth a trip to the movie theater? Or is Disney just trying to make money off of the nostalgia factor?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – New Mug Who Dis?

Scored this beauty last weekend when we went out of town – to a place that still has a Disney Store in it’s mall, so of COURSE we had to stop there (us true Disney fans never miss an opportunity for even the tiniest piece of Disney Magic!)

Since I am ever so slightly obsessed with Disney Mugs, I knew I would have to bring one home with me – I couldn’t say no to this one, I just love it!

…Of course, I couldn’t let me son walk out of there empty-handed either, and since Toy Story 4 is all the rage right now, it’s no surprise to me that he picked these adorably tiny Bunny and Ducky plushes to bring home (and they have been giving our dog the “ole plush rush” ever since lol)
