T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week: Amazing Disney Art To Brighten Up Your Home

I know I might have done a little bragging in the past about some of the awesome things my husband has made for me over the years, and I also know that his artistic ability is just one of the MANY reasons I am so lucky to have him in my life! Now, I realize that everyone out there might not be as artistically inclined as my husband (I know I’m not!), and lucky for us – there is the world of Etsy. In case you haven’t heard of it, let me school you real quick – etsy.com is the home of anything and everything handmade – art galore, jewelry, personalized and hand crafted – you name it, they have it! Check out some of the amazing Disney Art you can find there:

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – WDW’s Good Neighbor Hotels

Ok let me just start by saying that I am a HUGE advocate of staying on property when vacationing at Disney World, the Walt Disney World Hotels are amazing, and offer great service, food, and lodging for all. But I have to admit, as my family grows and changes, our needs when it comes to vacationing are changing too. Like – I would prefer a kitchen so I can prepare some of my own meals, and I would like a separate bedroom/sleeping area for my son – to name a few. So staying in a small hotel room with 2 double beds and no place for my son to play or my husband and I to be alone…yeah, not so attractive anymore, really

Sorry Disney – but I think it’s time I expanded my horizons and looked off site for lodging options. I know, I know – it’s crazy sounding, but believe it or not there’s a whole other world of hotels right outside the gates of Walt Disney World!

Many of these hotels are what Disney calls “Good Neighbor Hotels” – which means that they are on a short list of hotels that Disney deems worthy of associating with – they have great service, are AAA approved, are close to the Parks, and have an on-site guest services desk that can answer questions and assist with Disney ticket purchases too! Check out just of what you can expect at these Hotels:

GN 1

All these hotels offer awesome pools with tons of space for your whole family to lounge and play. Additionally, many of these hotels offer perks like shuttles to the Disney Parks, free breakfasts, game rooms, water slides, and plenty more, too!

GN 5

GN 2

Many offer full kitchens with stoves, dishes and cookware – allowing you to cook your own meals, which could potentially save you a TON of money

GN 3

Oh hello separate bedroom perfect for my son (or my husband and me!)

GN 4

Another nice to have amenity is an open floor plan – a combined dining/living/kitchen area makes my life a lot easier when it comes to keeping track of little ones!

All of these are photos from some of the various WDW Good Neighbor hotels, and these are some places I will be seriously considering for my next WDW trip – more space, privacy, a kitchen, and just minutes from WDW? Sign me up! Oh – and did I mention – a much lower price than similar amenities/space at WDW Resorts? Sorry Disney – but at this stage in my life, every penny matters – which is why I am considering heading off property next time I visit. T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Happy National Caramel Day!

Tuesday was National Caramel Day (yeah, that’s really a thing apparently!), and like any good foodie, I know where to get the GOOD stuff – the best spot for Caramel Coated treats in the World (both the Disney and real world) is at the Germany Pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase – At the Karamell-Kuche store – where they are serving up TONS of amazing snacks featuring Werther’s Caramel:

Carmelcorn

They are famous for their Caramel Popcorn – made fresh throughout the day, and the smell alone is enough to draw you to the shop, but if you need a little more convincing that this is the snack for you – then grab a free sample while proceeding immediately to the checkout line so you can purchase some of your own

 DSCN3241

While you’re in line, you’ll have this amazing view of all the available treats for sale

DSCN3243

My personal favorite? The Salted Caramel square – its amazing! The chocolate and caramel covered Krispie treat is huge and perfect for sharing (should you be so inclined!)

Hope you all enjoyed celebrating “National Caramel Day” – and if you didn’t even know that it happened, then maybe these pictures have inspired you to head to Walt Disney World for some delicious caramel snacks

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – What Do You Get A 2 Year Old Disney Fan For His/Her Birthday?

My best friend’s darling little girl will be celebrating her 2nd birthday soon – and when I was thinking about what to get her, I knew it had to be something Disney-esque – because what 2 year old doesn’t love everything Disney?

    2bday pillow

I actually ordered this exact pillow for her – what little one wouldn’t want to cuddle up to Minnie (or Mickey, which I bought for my son) every night?

2bday book

Books are always a good idea, especially if you know the little guy or gal you’re buying for already has a lot of toys

2bday bed

If your little one is ready to move up from crib life, then why not order them a Disney toddler bed? Reasonably priced, and a great next step to becoming a “big kid”

2bday keyboard

I actually just ordered this for my son – and he loves it! The keys light up, and Mickey talks to them, too. Instrument gifts are great at this age – they love seeing what happens or what noises they can make by pressing various buttons2bday storage

Another idea for the kid who has a LOT of toys already – Disney-themed storage will not only help contain the clutter, but it will also help teach them the valuable lesson of cleaning up

Hopefully you find these ideas helpful – as I know it can be hard to shop for little ones who seemingly have it all already!

T.G.I.F Pic Of The Week – Celebrating TEN YEARS With My Love

Warning: This post is not strictly Disney related, and it is also a bit lovey-dovey. There. You’ve been warned. That being said, I couldn’t NOT post about this milestone though – as it’s not every day you celebrate TEN YEARS of togetherness with the man of your dreams

FB_IMG_1456752693383

We met in college, and have been inseperable ever since – even surviving over 2 years of it being a long distance relationship

FB_IMG_1456752764970

We got engaged in February 2009

FB_IMG_1456752912919

…And married in June 2010

FB_IMG_1456752925037

With a honeymoon at Walt Disney World (naturally!)

FB_IMG_1456752967653

But Disney isn’t the only place we go together – we’ve been on several cruises – because what’s better than lounging in the sun with a delicious cocktail? Not much, that’s for sure!

FB_IMG_1456752991124

Ok, so there were several trips to Disney – but what do you expect from a Disney Addict like me?

FB_IMG_1456753070876

And what would a family be without a dog? This little guy is not so little anymore – he’s almost 4 and weighs 80 pounds now! We named him Walter – after Mr. Disney, of course!

FB_IMG_1456753017021

This little guy has been our greatest achievement thus far, for sure – he amazes us every day!

FB_IMG_1456753032079

He’s now 16 months old, and he runs around and is so close to talking – and we cannot WAIT to introduce him to the magic that is Walt Disney World!

My man and I have been through a LOT in the past ten years – some of it bad, most of it good – and all of it memorable! I cannot wait to make many more decades worth of memories with this man – including trips to Walt Disney World (among other things, ha)

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Coffee Tastes Better In A Disney Mug (It’s True…)

I am a big fan of coffee in the mornings (or afternoons, or anytime really!), and love tea and hot cocoa too – anything I can sip out of a big mug is a winner in my book – especially on a cold winter day here in Upstate NY! And why drink from a regular mug when I can drink out of a DISNEY mug?

20160208_103420 …Yep, I’m there with ya Mickey

20160208_103459

Because every princess needs a Disney Princess mug, right?

20160208_103535 …could not agree with you more, Ariel

20160208_103714

Love my “We’re All Mad Here” Alice In Wonderland Mug

20160208_103637

This little guy is a lot of fun, and makes me extra grateful for the existence of coffee!

20160208_103806

This vintage mason jar mug is amazing – takes me back to the days of childhood camping trips at Fort Wilderness!

TGIF – and here’s to staying warm with a nice hot beverage this winter!
