T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – In My Happy Place With My People

This week’s post is not really about Disney – but it IS about what I find to be one of the Happiest Places On Earth – curled up on my couch with not only my boys, but my best friend and her family, too! They are here to visit this weekend, and I am SO GLAD to see them – they live about 7 hours away in Virginia, and we while we visit each other often and FaceTime and text a lot, it’s still hard to be away from her and her family so much! Luckily, we have this time together now:

This is the first time they are here in the summer since we moved to our new house – so getting to see the kids enjoy the pool and backyard has been a real treat for me – this is what it’s all about – family and friends. It’s what makes the tantrums and juggling and working so hard worth it

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Oh TWO-dles!

Last week one of my favorite little ones turned 2 – Miss Ella is one of my close friends daughters – and we were so thrilled to celebrate her birthday with her.

…And even MORE thrilled when we found out that the theme was MINNIE MOUSE!

My BFF and I with the Birthday Girl (proof that I will break out my Minnie ears whenever I can)

My son had a great time playing with Ella and especially enjoyed the (Mickey) balloons

Trying to get 4 toddlers to pose…futile, but the outtakes are adorable

twodles3.jpg

FINALLY – a place to wear these shirts besides Disney World!

twodles1.jpg

A great party – and we even got party hats to take home!

Side Note – I may or may not be posting this in hopes my husband will plan a similar Minnie Mouse party for me this year? They make Ella’s outfit in my size, I bet…? Maybe?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Ok Target Just Take ALL MY MONEY

I always knew this day would come. I KNEW Disney would find a way to bankrupt me. I just always assumed it would be via their Parks and insanely priced souvenirs – I NEVER thought it could hit this close to home. So close in fact – that it is at every single Target store in the country – and I am powerless to stop the magnetic pull it has on me!

Target8

Target7

Disney recently released a TON of new merchandise, being sold exclusively at Target stores around the country. And we aren’t talking just a few little knick knacks and kids clothes or something like that – no – we are talking FULL ON Disney taking over Target. Kid’s and babies clothes/shoes, adult clothes, home goods, bedding, makeup, and then there’s the SUMMER stuff – pool accessories, camping stuff, and the list goes on AND ON – seriously.

Target4

So obviously – I had to check it out for myself. And I brought my tiny Disney fan too. He scored some Mickey Lip Balms to share with me

Target5

I had to seriously limit myself to only the necessities. I need to moisturize my lips, and I need something to drink coffee out of, and Walter NEEDS a Mickey hoodie (ok – maybe that last one is a bit of a stretch – but stores NEVER have the XL dog clothes/costumes – so I jumped on it!)

Target6

….He was less than impressed but a good sport nonetheless (treats were involved so that helped!)

target2.jpgTarget1target-3.jpg

And then I couldn’t resist matching tumblers for the family – another necessity really – as we all need to drink water, right?

There. Is. So. Much. Check it out online – and if you’re at Target just look up for the giant “Love Mickey” signs hanging from the ceiling – they will point you towards the good stuff!

…Seriously though I am going to need a second job just to fund my love for all things Disney at Target. Hmm…maybe Target is hiring?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney Easter Activities For The Whole Family!

Last week I talked about some Disney Easter Basket Stuffers that would be perfect any and all of the Disney Lovers in your life – and today I wanted to kind of continue the Easter fun – with some Disney Easter Activities:

Easter bark

In my opinion, the best activities are the edible ones – and this super cute Springtime Mickey Bark is an easy, delicious treat to throw together and bring to your family’s Easter Brunch

Easter Page

A fun one for the kids is this Disney Easter Activity Page – this and some crayons will keep the little ones busy and occupied while you hide the Easter Eggs and Baskets!

Easter Mickey Egg

Speaking of eggs…why not decorate yours like everyone’s favorite Mouse?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Top (Disney!) Easter Basket Ideas

Ok first of all – I just want to go on record as saying – I don’t know when Easter became like second Christmas – but I am NOT on board with it. I see it all over social media – people who spend tons of money on putting together extravagant Easter baskets for their kids/grandkids/nieces/nephews – and it’s just nuts.

I googled “infant Easter Basket ideas” (as I have a BRAND NEW niece just born this week – ah! So exciting!) and while obviously she can’t do anything with toys yet, I wanted to put together a little something of an Easter basket for her “first Easter” – and the ideas that the internet showed me were literally the most ridiculous things ever. Toys upon toys stacked together with outfits, stuffed animals – all together in these GIANT Baskets – which were really more like bins with handles at that point – and I just wondered – when did this become what Easter is about?

Personally – I am going to stick with a small basket with a few things in it – nothing huge or fancy or expensive, and since my son is only 3, he won’t know the difference or care that his basket didn’t cost $120 and hours to assemble

Ok – now that I have successfully gotten THAT rant out – time to focus on the task at hand – filling the Easter basket! Of course, a Disney theme is always a good option…

Easter181

What is more “Easter” than Mickey dressed as the Easter Bunny?

Easter182

I just about died when I saw this online – and I came really close to ordering one for myself – my inner 5 year old was itching to click “Add To Cart” – as I just cannot imagine a cuter toy for a little girl’s Easter basket then an Ariel Voice Recording Necklace. Who knows – maybe the Easter Bunny will bring ME one!

Easter183

Bubbles are the perfect item for almost any age – as they are fun, cheap, and a reminder that Spring is coming! This Mickey Bubble Wand is amazing – it even lights up!

It’s not just the Disney Store who offers great Easter ideas – your local big box store has tons of (budget friendly!) Easter basket items, too!

Easter184

Saw this Minnie pail when I was there the other day – there was also a Mickey of course, as well as assorted plainer buckets with Mickey/Minnie/Frozen characters on them – they would be great to use at the beach in the summer! In addition to Disney buckets/pails, they had tons of other little themed items – eggs, candy filled eggs, bubbles, small toys, and much more (they really had an insane amount of stuff – worth checking out, for sure!)

While I don’t love how big Easter seems to have become over the years, I do enjoy the idea of putting together a basket for my son and niece, and am excited to get to see them enjoy the fun things I put in it! What about you – what do YOU like to put in your kid’s Easter baskets?

Stay tuned right here next week – when I will showcase some fun and easy Easter activities for the whole family!
