T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Unique Pin Displays That Anyone Can DIY!

    pinlanyard
Disney Pin Trading is a HUGE thing at The Disney Parks and has been for quite a while now. I resisted it for a long time but I finally gave in a few years ago – and I like to think I keep it at a manageable level – I only buy a couple of pins when I go to Disney, and I like to buy ones that actually mean something to me, that spark a great memory when I look back at them.
Pin-Shadow-Box
Speaking of looking back at my pins – I made this awesome Pin Display Case a few years ago so that I can always look back on my favorites that I keep in there. Since then, Pin displays have definitely become “a thing” – and there are plenty of ways to make your own unique version:
Pin display 1
Grab a sheet of corkboard and a cutout of Cinderella’s Castle and boom you have an awesome silhouette display case
Pin disp 2
Create a Mickey head out of foamboard, and use a unique background – like Disney scrapbook paper, or – what a great use for all those Park Maps you end up coming home with, right?
Pin disp 3
Foamboard or cork can be cut to fit any frame – so pick something that matches your style or existing décor to display those pins proudly!
Pin disp 6
Pin disp 5
Cork letters like these can be purchased at your local craft store, and I saw them at Target recently too
Pin Disp 4

And there’s always this style for displaying them when you head to Disney World…ok just kidding, but seriously, there are so many lanyards to choose from, or you can display them on a hat, backpack, or purse strap too

If you’re not into Disney Pin Trading yet – what are you waiting for? Check out the basics here and then start collecting and trading the next time you’re at the Disney Parks!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week: Family Time Is The BEST Time!

I was lucky enough to be ON VACATION this week – and while in the past we have mostly taken time off to GO somewhere (like DISNEY WORLD, or a cruise), this time we did things a little differently….

The first part of the week was spent at HOME – a little staycation action was much needed, a chance to relax and spend time with our son. PLUS – our friends came to visit from Virginia too – which was great as always, and seeing our son play with their daughter makes my heart oh so happy!

(I couldn’t resist us all posing in our Disney aprons for a photo op- and can you blame me? Look at these cuties!)

We had TONS of fun – and even though they stayed for longer than normal this visit, it was still pretty sad to see them go…

But no time to be sad yet – as we moved on almost immediately to the second half of our adventure, when we drove upstate to the Adirondack Region of New York to join my parents at the house they rented for the week:

And here we are, enjoying one more day of quiet, tranquil nature before heading home tomorrow and back to the reality of all work and no play soon after….ok maybe that’s not so accurate, more like “more work and less play”…

Feeling really grateful right now for these amazing people that I am lucky enough to call my friends and family❤

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – “Finding Dory” Breaks The Box Office!

    Dory

The MUCH anticipated sequel to Disney Pixar’s Finding Nemo opened last weekend at the box office – and grossed over $136 million dollars just last weekend, which makes it the highest-grossing animated debut of all time! Pretty impressive – but definitely not surprising to me, as I have been waiting 13 years for more undersea adventures with Dory!

Haven’t seen it yet? Here’s a sneak peak of just some of the fun you’re in for:

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Celebrating 6 Years Of Marriage With My Love

     FB_IMG_1465230004843

This weekend will mark 6 years of marriage for me and my man – and it’s been quite the journey thus far! We bought a house, new cars, got married, got a dog, had a baby, and have been lucky enough to have gone on some awesome vacations too! We have visited Walt Disney World a bunch of times together, and while I love going anywhere with him and cherish the memories we make on ALL our trips, I have to say – I do hold a particular fondness for our Disney vacations:

To our trips with my parents, where we all got to enjoy the Disney Magic (once even on Christmas Day, which was amazing!)

Unfortunately, we won’t be celebrating our anniversary at Disney this year, but we will be heading to the Disney Store so I can get my fix (lucky me!)

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week: Amazing Disney Art To Brighten Up Your Home

I know I might have done a little bragging in the past about some of the awesome things my husband has made for me over the years, and I also know that his artistic ability is just one of the MANY reasons I am so lucky to have him in my life! Now, I realize that everyone out there might not be as artistically inclined as my husband (I know I’m not!), and lucky for us – there is the world of Etsy. In case you haven’t heard of it, let me school you real quick – etsy.com is the home of anything and everything handmade – art galore, jewelry, personalized and hand crafted – you name it, they have it! Check out some of the amazing Disney Art you can find there:

These would look great on the wall of your favorite Disney Princess Fan

These decals are a unique way to display your love for all things Disney in your home

Hopefully this inspires you to create/purchase some Disney art for your home – I can’t imagine a better way to perk up my day than a great Disney print hanging on my wall!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – WDW’s Good Neighbor Hotels

Ok let me just start by saying that I am a HUGE advocate of staying on property when vacationing at Disney World, the Walt Disney World Hotels are amazing, and offer great service, food, and lodging for all. But I have to admit, as my family grows and changes, our needs when it comes to vacationing are changing too. Like – I would prefer a kitchen so I can prepare some of my own meals, and I would like a separate bedroom/sleeping area for my son – to name a few. So staying in a small hotel room with 2 double beds and no place for my son to play or my husband and I to be alone…yeah, not so attractive anymore, really

Sorry Disney – but I think it’s time I expanded my horizons and looked off site for lodging options. I know, I know – it’s crazy sounding, but believe it or not there’s a whole other world of hotels right outside the gates of Walt Disney World!

Many of these hotels are what Disney calls “Good Neighbor Hotels” – which means that they are on a short list of hotels that Disney deems worthy of associating with – they have great service, are AAA approved, are close to the Parks, and have an on-site guest services desk that can answer questions and assist with Disney ticket purchases too! Check out just of what you can expect at these Hotels:

GN 6

GN 1

All these hotels offer awesome pools with tons of space for your whole family to lounge and play. Additionally, many of these hotels offer perks like shuttles to the Disney Parks, free breakfasts, game rooms, water slides, and plenty more, too!

GN 5

GN 2

Many offer full kitchens with stoves, dishes and cookware – allowing you to cook your own meals, which could potentially save you a TON of money

GN 3

Oh hello separate bedroom perfect for my son (or my husband and me!)

GN 4

Another nice to have amenity is an open floor plan – a combined dining/living/kitchen area makes my life a lot easier when it comes to keeping track of little ones!

All of these are photos from some of the various WDW Good Neighbor hotels, and these are some places I will be seriously considering for my next WDW trip – more space, privacy, a kitchen, and just minutes from WDW? Sign me up! Oh – and did I mention – a much lower price than similar amenities/space at WDW Resorts? Sorry Disney – but at this stage in my life, every penny matters – which is why I am considering heading off property next time I visit.
