T.G.I.F Pic Of The Week: A Closer Look At Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

One of my dreams is to someday spend Halloween at Walt Disney World – and to dress in costume to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. WHY, you might be wondering? Well, it just sounds like too much fun to pass up!

For those not familiar with the event, it’s held on select evenings in September and October, and features trick or treating, a Halloween parade, special character appearances and more. Check it out:

Kids of all ages get into the Happy Halloween spirit while trick-or-treating during MickeyÕs Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. The family-friendly after-hours event also offers dance parties, meet and greets with favorite characters in costume, plus the must-see "Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade" and "Happy HalloWishes" fireworks display. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special ticket event and takes place on select nights each fall at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Ali Nasser, photographer)

Ok so I know that maybe I am slightly biased because I love fall so much, but I just can’t imagine a more fun way to spend Halloween than at DISNEY WORLD – with candy, dressed up characters, and pumpkins galore!
I can just picture myself – dressed as Minnie Mouse, enjoying a delicious caramel apple as I take in the parade…#fallgoals #maybesomeday

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – #FallVibes

Personally – I am already into fall mode – I have decorations up, apples have been picked (and made into applesauce!), and pumpkin coffees and lattes have been obtained from various local baristas. And while many of you may think it’s too early for this, I can assure you – it’s NOT, and guess what – DISNEY AGREES WITH ME!

The Parks are already decked out in their Fall Finery for all to enjoy!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has already started this year, too believe it or not (including exclusive party snacks):

A spectacle of characters parades down Main Street, U.S.A in “Mickey’s Boo-to You Halloween Parade” during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. The parade is led by the Headless Horseman and includes Disney characters in Halloween regalia and the ghostly inhabitants of The Haunted Mansion. Oh – and if you want to look the part, I suggest you head over to the Disney store website and check out what’s new for Halloween/fall 2016!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Foodies Rejoice – Food And Wine Time Is Almost Here!

The characters, the rides, the shows – there’s so much to see and do at Walt Disney World that just thinking about it all makes me tired…and HUNGRY. Luckily, WDW has some truly amazing cuisine – and if you’re a “foodie” then you might want to plan your Disney vacation around the annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival – where you can experience even MORE amazing eats!

Guests can sample tapas-sized tastes of inventive cuisine from more than 30 global marketplaces during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Sept. 25-Nov. 16, 2015 at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The popular fall festival also features wine tastings, culinary demonstrations, mixology seminars, nightly "Eat to the Beat" concerts and a broad range of premium dining events. For the first time in the festival's 20-year-history, global marketplace experiences, expand from the park's World Showcase into Future World. (Matt Stroshane, photographer)

This year the Festival runs from September 14th – November 14th, and in addition to TONS of pop up kiosks featuring cuisine from around the world – places like Belgium, Brazil, South Korea, and MANY more will be represented

The idea here is to pair the country’s signature dishes with their best wines and beverages, to really showcase the food AND drink! Check out the full list of kiosks that will be at this year’s festival Here

In addition to the food and drink available for purchase, there will be live concerts, culinary demonstrations, beverage seminars, and newly added this year – the chance to get in on the action with “Mix it, Make It, Celebrate it!” classes (like sushi making and cake decorating to name a few!)

The Food and Wine Festival is really a dream come true for someone like myself – who loves Disney and FOOD – and I can’t wait to check it out next fall when I head to WDW!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Celebrating 6 Years Of Marriage With My Love

     FB_IMG_1465230004843

This weekend will mark 6 years of marriage for me and my man – and it’s been quite the journey thus far! We bought a house, new cars, got married, got a dog, had a baby, and have been lucky enough to have gone on some awesome vacations too! We have visited Walt Disney World a bunch of times together, and while I love going anywhere with him and cherish the memories we make on ALL our trips, I have to say – I do hold a particular fondness for our Disney vacations:

To our trips with my parents, where we all got to enjoy the Disney Magic (once even on Christmas Day, which was amazing!)

Unfortunately, we won’t be celebrating our anniversary at Disney this year, but we will be heading to the Disney Store so I can get my fix (lucky me!)

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – The Ultimate #FBF

A Little flashback on this Friday – to when I was just a wee one…

 20160322_100600

I was destined to love Disney from a young age – since I’ve been dressing the part for over 30 years

??????????????

I remember when a new Disney Store opened, or sometimes they had special events – and they would bring in characters and you could do a meet and greet – just like at the Parks!

Here’s a few from my family’s (MANY) Disney trips over the years:

When you went on a Fishing trip at Disney, they used to take Polaroids of you with your catch (that was in the pre digital days, of course)

I give this guy (my dad) a LOT of credit – not only did he plan a yearly trip to Disney World for us, but he was a pro at finding characters and planning things so that I got to meet all my faves. And this was in the days before the internet, before you could just pull up an app on your smartphone to tell you where Mickey would be – so he really put a lot of work into making these trips awesome for us all

When Is The BEST Time To Go To WDW?

image8

I get asked this a lot – people always want to know when is the best time to travel to Walt Disney World – and let’s be real – what they are REALLY asking is when is the cheapest/least crowded time to go. I can’t blame them – Disney is expensive, and the crowds can really put a damper on your fun (that you paid so much for). So, in the interest of saving money and attempting to avoid the crowds, here are my top three best times to visit WDW:

Early December: The crowds won’t be super light at this time, so you might be wondering “why rank this as a top choice?” and that would be solely based on the Christmas decorations. That’s right – they are THAT amazing – the decorations, the live entertainment and Christmas music, the huge Christmas trees at each Park, the gingerbread displays, the Christmas/holiday themed food – it’s all amazing, and worth braving a bit of a crowd for. If you’re a huge Christmas fanatic (like me!) I highly recommend you consider an early December WDW trip. While going the week of Christmas may seem appealing – I advise you to resist the urge – as the Resort prices are higher, and the crowds are INSANE – so earlier in the month is generally a much better choice

Late September/Early October: This time of year at Disney World is great for a lot of reasons. The attendance numbers tend to be some of the lowest of the year, due in part to the return of most kids to school in September (and parents not wanting to take their kids out of classes so soon after they have just begun!). The weather is mild (still warm but not as painfully hot and humid as the summer months), and fall season is in full swing at the Parks! There are pumpkins everywhere you turn, plus seasonal fall foods are offered around the Parks too (pumpkin flavored items galore – yum!). If you’re a big Halloween fan, this is the perfect time for you to go to WDW – as Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party begins in late September and runs through October. The Party includes trick or treating, a special Halloween themed parade, and plenty of character meet and greets as well

Early May: Statistically this is one of the best times to go to WDW, as the attendance numbers tend to be some of the lowest of any other time of the year. And since it’s not a “peak” time – the prices to stay at WDW are lower, too! If crowds are your main concern when planning your Disney trip, then this is your time to go! The weather is great too – you might see some rain, but overall, spring at Disney is warm (but not hot!) and sunny, which means you’ll be able to get in plenty of pool and water park time

So there they are, my top 3 Best Times to travel to Disney World. Obviously, this is just my opinion and you might have a totally different experience or other thoughts on the matter – but from what I have seen, these are the best. I would love to know what YOU think thoughwhat’s your favorite time to travel to WDW (aside from ANYTIME, of course, ha!)
