T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Meeting The Main Man Himself – MICKEY MOUSE!

It’s hard to believe that our Disney World trip is over – we came back last Saturday, and I personally am missing it SO MUCH – and so is my son! He has asked me almost daily if we can go back – “Mommy – after school, we can go to Disney World?” and today’s was “Mommy, we just have to get tickets, then we can go to Disney World” – well pal, I wish it was that simple – if it was, we would be there RIGHT NOW – but unfortunately, it’s a bit trickier than that…hopefully someday soon we can go back, but for now, all we can do is remember how amazing our week in WDW was – and if I had to narrow it down what was the best part, I would have a LOT of trouble, but for sure one thing that stands out in my mind is my son’s first encounters with Mickey – he was lucky enough to meet him THREE times on our trip, and he loved every one:

First time was at the Epcot Character Spot – where he was so thrilled he couldn’t stop smiling!

Then we had dinner at Chef Mickey’s – which was just as fun as I remember it being!

Final trip encounter with Mickey was at breakfast at Tusker House at Animal Kingdom – which I personally love, as I think their safari outfits are so cute!

I can’t wait to start planning our next WDW trip – and I know my son can’t wait, either!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Counting Down To Our Trip With Top “Can’t Wait!” Moments

TWENTY THREE SHORT DAYS FROM NOW I WILL BE HEADED TO WALT DISNEY WORLD! To say that I am excited is a severe understatement. I cannot wait to get away, to step onto Disney Property, to show my son the Magic, to ride the rides, eat the food….and the list goes on (and on)

So in the spirit of countdowns – I am going to be featuring my top “Can’t Wait!” moments over the next couple of weeks – and first up is Dinner With The Fab Five:

Chef Mickey’s has always been one of my favorite places to eat – the location at the Contemporary Resort is a quick monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom, and the buffet style food is always consistently adequate (nothing amazing, but fresh and enough variety for everyone to find something they like). The best part here though is the CHARACTERS – The “Fab Five” are the main attraction here – Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto – in their CHEF clothes!

I can’t wait to eat here next month, and to share the fun with my son (I predict he will especially enjoy the ice cream sundae bar!)

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – I’m Just Here For The Food

Ok – I know I talk a TON about the FOOD at Walt Disney World – and with GOOD REASON – they have the best food on the planet – seriously. They really go above and beyond in every category when crafting the Disney Guest Experience – but the cuisine is one of the areas in which I take particular pleasure – I love checking out all the new snacks and themed items they have come up with every time I am in WDW

It may only be August, but Disney is already planning for the upcoming season – the BEST one of all, FALL, and they are already creating some amazing items for HALLOWEEN too – FOOD items that is:

Halloweenfood1Halloweenfood2Halloweenfood3Halloweenfood4Halloweenfood5

From a “Not so Poison Apple” cupcake, to a spider web-themed Mickey Cinnamon Roll, to Pumpkin cheesecake, Haunted Mansion Themed “graves” full of dirt and worms, and amazing collectible popcorn buckets – plus many more – your taste buds will no doubt delight in these spooky snacks!

These amazing treats are only available during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (running on select evenings at the Magic Kingdom now through October) – and personally I think the chance to check these out is worth the price of a ticket to the party. But then again, I am partial to snacks – so I would love to know what YOU think – are you headed to the Party to sample some of these treats?
Check out the full listing (complete with drool worthy pictures) Here

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – My Top Fastpass+ Picks – Magic Kingdom

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a YEAR since I booked our Disney World vacation – and that our countdown until we head to WDW is just over 3 months now! Time flies – and while I am not wishing away the summer, I am starting to get SUPER pumped and antsy to head back to Walt Disney World!

One thing that will help me feel even closer to the Mouse is making my Fastpass+ reservations online. This is something you can do 60 days in advance if you’re staying at a Disney World Resort (or 30 days in advance if you are staying off site), and for those of you not familiar, it’s basically a way to “reserve” a spot at popular attractions. You pick them (3 a day can be reserved ahead of time), and then go to the ride at the appointed fastpass return time – whereupon you are whisked away into the MUCH shorter “fastpass” line – therefore avoiding a super long wait time. Genius, right? Read more about it here

Needless to say – I have been thinking about my Fastpass+ selections for a WHILE – mulling over which would be best at each Park, and which my son would like best too (since this will be his first WDW trip!). I have managed to narrow down my selections somewhat – and am pretty solid on My top Magic Kingdom Fastpass+ Picks:

FP MK1

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – This kid-friendly roller coaster is one we haven’t gotten to experience yet (since it opened after our last WDW trip) – but since it is pretty new, we know that a Fastpass is a MUST to avoid the Standby lines (which can get LONGGGG)

FP MK2

FP MK3

Peter Pan’s Flight – This is a personal favorite of mine – the flying ships I especially adore! It just reminds me of watching the movie as a kid and being so amazed at it all. I hope my son finds it as magical as I do! Even though it’s not a new attraction at all – the lines for it can be long (not sure why?) – so that’s what made me add it to the “must fastpass” list

FP MK4

Thunder Mountain – I was a bit apprehensive about adding this one to the list – as it is more of a “thrill” ride, and I worry my son won’t like it as much or it might scare him – BUT – it IS train themed, and I think that’s a major selling point for him – so I figure – why not give it a go?

There are others that I would like to use Fastpass for – Space Mountain mainly – but my boy is just about an inch shy of being tall enough, and I don’t want to assume he will grow an inch by September (although – who are we kidding – he will probably grow WAY more than an inch by then ha!) – so we will have to wait and see on that one. Plus – I don’t want to traumatize him (the way my dad did to me when he took me on Space Mountain when I was 4) – I have recovered luckily, but it can be a scary ride for a little person!

What about you – what rides are your absolutes for Fastpass+ selections?

Stay tuned here next week when I talk about more of my Fastpass+ Picks

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – “Incredible Tomorrowland Expo” Flies Into The Magic Kingdom!

In honor of Disney Pixar’s Incredibles 2 – which hits theaters June 15th – Disney has gone all out – celebrating all things Incredible and Super – hero that is! With their Incredible Tomorrowland Expo on now through the summer at The Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland

The experiences include interacting with the movie’s stars, theming and music, and all things Super Hero! Oh, and then there’s the food:

Inc2Inc1Inc 3

Tomorrowland food vendors have all gotten in on the action too – with Incredible-Themed menu items to celebrate! Pictured above we have Edna Mode’s “No Capes, Just Crêpes” Crêpe Sundae, Mrs. Incredible Pretzel Mask (topped with black salt!), and the Super Stretchy Burger (featuring Mozzarella sticks)

Disney had this to say about this celebration: “Thanks to The Incredibles, the world has once again embraced the Supers! So, in honor of all the good Super Heroes do, Tomorrowland presents the Incredible Tomorrowland Expo—where you’ll have the chance to interact with Mr. Incredible, Frozone, Mrs. Incredible and, for the first time, Edna Mode!”

Sounds like a great time to me! I loved the Incredibles and can’t wait to see the new one – I plan on taking my dad, husband, and son to it for Father’s Day – how about you – will you head to the theaters in a few weeks to see the Incredibles 2?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – The #PurpleWall Gets A Makeover

I LOVE TAKING SELFIES – and I don’t care who knows it. Is it a silly thing to do? Yes. Do I care – NOPE not even a little. I never pass up a good opportunity for a selfie – and there are PLENTY of those opportunities at WDW!

I recently wrote about some of the best places to take selfies at Walt Disney World – and I am just dying to try them all out when I head there with my family this fall.

Recently, one of the most popular WDW selfie spots – the #PurpleWall at the entrance to Tomorrowland – got a facelift that has been creating some serious buzz in the Disney World:

Purple3

Here’s what it used to look like before it’s re-do

And here’s the new (and improved) #PurpleWall

Purple6

Oh and don’t worry – there is still a plain purple section for all you #PurpleWall purists out there

Purple2

…Same though. I’m coming for you this fall, #PurpleWall

Oh and for you #PurpleWall fans – you can even get a custom Magic Band to declare your Purple Wall love to the world
