T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – More Of The Gorgeous Port Orleans Riverside Resort

Last week I showed you a bit what you might see when you stay at Port Orleans Riverside Resort – where my husband was lucky enough to stay earlier this month for a work conference. Today, I wanted to show you just how amazing the rest of the Resort is:

There’s my adorable husband posing outside his room!

It really lights up at night doesn’t it?

Seriously loving all the “riverside” and boating touches here – the theme is amazing!

After checking out all his pictures, I can definitely say I can’t WAIT to plan my next WDW trip so that I can book a room at Port Orleans Riverside – what a great place to stay!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Inside WDW’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort

I recently wrote/lamented about how my husband was headed to WDW for a work conference – and as you may or may not have been able to guess from that post, I was more than a little jealous of his trip. He didn’t get to do much touring of the Parks though – as they were at conference sessions all day every day – but he DID get to stay in the gorgeous Port Orleans Riverside Resort – and today I am sharing with you some of the things he saw inside the Resort:

Here’s the hotel lobby – the word I could use to best describe it would be “grand” – the tall ceilings, ornate light fixtures, and regal colors are all very aesthetically pleasing!

Here’s his room – spacious, well decorated, clean, and he had it all to himself!

He arrived the day after Halloween and the pumpkins from the staff pumpkin decorating contest were still up – aren’t they great? I love seeing stuff like this at Disney!

Next week, we will be taking a look at all the outdoor beauty at Port Orleans Riverside
Until then…TGIF!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Gearing Up For The Holidays – Disney Style

The other day I was going through the Toys R’Us holiday toy book – when my son toddled over and flipped the book over and points to a picture of a stuffed Mickey and goes “Daba!” (which is what he calls Mickey). I should be proud, and I am – but I am also scared. He is just barely 1 and already knows what Mickey Mouse is – which is cool, but I wonder what kind of like subliminal messages are in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse….ah well, either way, my kid loves Mickey (yay!), and I suppose that means Disney Christmas gifts this year?

It may only be early November, but I have already started Christmas shopping – and while I still have a lot to do, it’s nice to get some stuff out of the way early. I still do have to shop for my son, so I was thinking some Disney inspiration might be in order:

What kid wouldn’t want to receive a GIANT stuffed Mickey Mouse? Perfect for cuddling and playtime

I love these “road” carpets – and this Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed one is a great choice for your tiny Disney fan

I saw this at Target and thought it was the cutest thing – what a great way to “play doctor” – just like Doc McStuffins!

This Lightning McQueen toy box is great for everyone – kids will love that it looks like their fave Cars star, and parents will love the extra place to stash the TONS of toys that seem to explode from everywhere

My son isn’t the only Disney lover in the house – and I personally like to deck my halls with a Disney flair:

Personalized stockings hung along the mantle

Or maybe a tree skirt with the family name on it?

Can’t go wrong with these – whether you’re giving them as a gift or using them to make delicious sugar cookies – it’s a win win

And of course Disney sells TONS of ornaments – I personally love to get one each time we go to Disney

Hopefully these gift and décor ideas have helped kick start your holiday spirit into gear!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Port Orleans Riverside Resort

I recently wrote about how my husband is going to Disney without me – and not only does that suck (for me), but he is also staying at one of the WDW Resorts that I haven’t really gotten a chance to explore or stay at yet – Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort – which is themed after the rural Louisiana Bayou, and has a great “Southern Hospitality” air to it. Check out what it has to offer:

…Needless to say, I am SO JEALOUS of my husband’s trip, and of the amazing place he gets to stay, too! Port Orleans Riverside offers amazing rooms, beautiful pools, delicious food, and some awesome views too – what more could you ask for? Can’t wait to hear what he thinks of this amazing Resort

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – My Husband Is Going To Disney Without ME!!!!!

It’s true. My husband is going to the Happiest Place on Earth without me – his Disney loving wife. Granted, it’s for a work conference, and he will only get to really spend 1 night in the Parks, but STILL – I am so jealous I could die.

I wanted to try and go with him – and we had even thought about me bringing our son along and meeting up with him after the conference is over and staying a few extra days at WDW – but the cost of that, coupled with the logistics of bringing an infant, AND the fact that my vacation balance is precariously low…all of it adds up to him flying solo on this trip – and me crying at home…alone. Well – ok, I probably won’t actually CRY – but it will be lonely for sure!

The one bright spot in all of this is that he will be able to fulfill my running list of Disney Souvenirs! Shopping is not his favorite thing to do, but he has kindly agreed to grab a few things for me. Here’s what’s currently on that list:

This is the number one must have item on my list – Mickey ears for my baby boy – with his name embroidered on them of course! Classic, iconic, and adorable

I’m a huge Alice in Wonderland fan – and so I just have to have this mug, on the back it says “We’re all mad here” (one of my favorite quotes – I love it so much I even have it tattooed on my shoulder!). Do I need more mugs? NO. Will I still get this one? HECK YES!

We always get an ornament when we make a trip to Disney, and I especially love ones I can put a trip picture in. I also prefer ones that are not glass or round (easier to transport that way!) – so something like this would be perfect! I won’t have a trip pic to put in it, but I can always put a family pic in it instead!

There’s a TON of new amazing Tower of Terror merchandise at the Disney Parks – which is great because I LOVE the ride, plus I remember when it opened – and my parents and I would wait over 2 hours to ride it – worth every minute, as the theming is amazing all the way through the queue. I love games, especially Disney themed ones – so this Hollywood Tower Hotel Jenga would be an awesome souvenir

And while I can pretend this one is for our son – it’s really more for me. Because who WOULDN’T want to cuddle a giant Mickey pillow every night?!

So while I am hating that I won’t get to go with my husband to Walt Disney World, I am comforted by the fact that he will be bringing a few little pieces of WDW back to me! What about you – what’s on YOUR Disney souvenir list?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Traveling In (Disney) Style

As my family gets ready to head to the beach for our first ever family vacation (yay!), I am beginning to prepare, both mentally and physically, for the daunting task that is ahead of me – PACKING. I normally don’t mind packing – but since having a baby, it has taken on a whole new dimension of insanity. The sheer volume of items required to care for and travel with a small baby is ridiculous – and making lists and packing ahead of time are definitely things that are now necessary when it comes to vacationing.

I realize I am not the first person to deal with this – and luckily, there are some pretty awesome ways to tackle the packing monster – and they include DISNEY, of course!

Travel 1

Travel 2

Travel 3

If your kids are a bit older, you might be lucky enough to get away with them lugging their OWN bags around on vacation – and if they need some convincing, then make sure you sweeten the deal with an awesome Disney bag!

Travel 4

….Of course, they make them for adults too

Travel 5

Travel 6

The Disney Store and stores like Target and Walmart carry a whole bunch of cute Disney swimwear and beach towels – perfect for fun in the sun

And if you’re traveling via car to your vacation destination – then you will definitely want to make sure you have a road trip kit with you – all the items in it are designed to make that LONG car ride just a bit easier on everyone

Ok so Disney luggage? Check. Disney bathing suits? Check. Disney towels? Check. Road trip kit? Check. Only 1,004,840 other things left to pack and I will be ready to go!
