T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Inside Baseline – WDW’s Newest Beer Spot!

BaseLine Tap House opened last month in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios – and I personally was THRILLED to hear the news – a cool spot to grab a craft beer and awesome pretzel – I’m in!

Check it out:

(You may have noticed I included the pretzels twice – that’s not a mistake – that’s just how good they look – I had to give them double props!)

Ok, truth be told I am not much of a beer fan myself – but my husband is – so much so that I am excited for him – to have a place to go and check out beers that he otherwise might not get to try is the perfect vacation activity! Lucky for me – they serve wine too (score!)

Can’t wait to check this place out when we head to Disney World next year!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – But First…Let Me Take a Selfie

I was doing some Disney web browsing (as I often do because – well – Disney rules), checking out news and updates people had posted -and I stumbled across this article titled “9 “Walls” Disney Parks Super Fans Deem Instagram Worthy” – and upon further reading, I realized – it’s really an article about the best places to take selfies at Walt Disney World. Now – I understand that not everyone is super into taking selfies, but if you ARE – then these are some of the best places to do it:

I personally LOVE all of these, and upon further inspection I found even more awesome places to pose – check out these, and even more here

T.G.I.F Pic Of The Week – On Vacation (With A Little Disney Added In, Of Course!)

This week my husband, son and I headed to Cleveland Ohio for a little getaway/family vacation. We arrived Wednesday and have been having a TON of fun so far:

It’s our first real trip away, just the three of us, and we are so pumped to be exploring a new place! Checked out the amazing zoo they have here and are headed to the rock and roll hall of fame today!

…And of course, what would any trip be without a little shopping…DISNEY Store shopping specifically!

We let our boy pick out a toy – and he picked Buzz Lightyear – and has not put him down since. Even begged to bring him to bed but I managed to convince him that Buzz wouldn’t be the best cuddle buddy ha

It may seem strange to some to go shopping at a mall on vacation, but we don’t have a Disney Store at home, so this is the closest I can get to that “Disney Magic” feeling (without heading to Florida – and trust me this is a MUCH cheaper option!)

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – “So Basic I Can’t Even”

Perhaps you have heard of the term “Basic White Girl” – and if you haven’t, I can school you on it – it’s your typical fall-loving, pumpkin spice latter drinking, apple picking, scarf wearing gal who just adores everything about fall and all that goes with it. Maybe the term might offend some, but I personally find it to be funny, and truth be told I am about as Basic as they come. I LIVE for fall, and the unveiling of all things fall at Disney is something I look forward to every year. And now that it is September, I feel like I can OFFICIALLY be excited about fall – and all the great ways Disney brings it to life:

There’s the fall décor that springs up everywhere you turn at the Parks

And then there’s the seasonally themed treats for sale at all the Disney Parks, too!

And for those of us not lucky enough to be headed to Walt Disney World this fall, we can take solace in the fact that the Disney Store has a nice big Halloween Section – full of amazing costumes and décor and other fun stuff you can use at home to make this the BEST FALL EVER!!

Ok – sorry – got a little excited there – can’t help it – it’s the basic girl in me!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Happy Birthday To Me!

This week I celebrated my 33rd birthday – and I think most adults would agree with me that as you get older, birthdays aren’t as much about gifts or how many people say “Happy Birthday” or show up to celebrate you (although all those things are nice!) – it’s really about memories, and just getting a chance to enjoy life with the ones you love!

I didn’t have a “Birthday Party” this year (as 33 isn’t exactly a milestone year, ha) but we did have some people over for a bit of pool fun this weekend, and even though I know I just said birthdays aren’t as much about gifts, I did get a few that really thrilled me:

33bday2

Meet “Swanda”

My husband and I were lucky enough to move into a bigger house this spring – and even LUCKIER that the house came with a POOL! We have all LOVED spending time splashing around, and truth be told – I have been dreaming about one of these since we moved in (because what pool is complete without an INSANELY HUGE inflatable swan?) Oh – and even though my husband said “it will take up half the pool” – FYI – it only takes up like a quarter. So there.

33bday3

I also received this – 846 pages of ALL THINGS WALT DISNEY WORLD. I seriously cannot wait to read this cover to cover in preparation for our Disney World trip next year!

33Bday1

Seriously though – aside from the gifts, I know that Birthdays these days are all about being grateful for everything I have in my life – and I gotta say, I feel pretty blessed right now – as I am turning 33, I look forward to the year ahead and spending time with my family – and watching this little superhero get even bigger and grow and learn even more! Oh – and obviously I can’t wait to spend even more quality time with Spider Dog too – even if he does currently hate me for making him pose in that cape

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Unique Autograph Ideas For Your Next WDW Trip

Collecting character autographs is just one of those “Must-Do” things at Walt Disney World – there’s nothing better than a book full of the memories of meeting and interacting with your favorite Disney characters (not to mention the bragging rights that accompany it, too!). When I was a kid – “back in the day” if you will – really all we had were autograph books:

autographs1

This is like the one I used to have, and I carried it around in my neon pink fanny pack when I went to the Parks. I wish I still had it and could pass it on to my son (the fanny pack though – not so much. That can stay in the early 90’s where it belongs). Autograph books are great, but if you’re looking for a more unique way to collect signatures, check out these ideas:

Autographs2

Bring along a blank mat for a picture frame for signing, and then display it at home along with your favorite photo from the trip!

Autographs4

If you have multiple children (or adults!) who are collecting autographs, get each one the first letter of their name (wooden ones like this can be found at most craft stores). Then there’s no confusion on which letter belongs to which kid, too!

Autographs 3

This idea would require special metallic or fabric markers – but in the end would make for a pretty cool keepsake

17Autographs5

This might be my favorite idea of all – bringing along a stack of colored pieces of card stock/scrapbook paper (4×6 size would work perfectly), and having the characters each sign one, to later pair with a picture in a special photo album

Autographs5

This Disney Character Encyclopedia is what inspired me to look up new and inventive autograph ideas – as I was thinking about getting it for my son, and read some reviews that people used it for autographs – which is a great idea – each character has their own page already in the book, so why not have them sign it?

I haven’t decided what we will do for autographs when we bring my son for the first time next year to Walt Disney World – might just opt for a classic autograph book for him – but for me? One of these ideas would be perfect!
