TODAY IS THE DAY (For 2018 Disney World Bookings, That Is!)

Disney World Lovers, REJOICE – as today is the day many of you have been waiting for! Historically, Disney releases vacation package information/booking ability for the following year sometime in June, and this year it is June 20th (TODAY!)

The past few years this day hasn’t really meant much to me, as I wasn’t planning a Disney World vacation in the coming year – but since we are (finally!) Headed Back to WDW in 2018, I am VERY excited about this day indeed. Plus – I love to make lists and budgets and plan things – so I know I will be heading over to Disney World’s Website today to price out my vacations (plural – both real and the dream version where we stay a Deluxe Resort and have VIP Passes…hey, it’s fun to play pretend sometimes, right?)

Happy Booking!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Ice Cream Season Is Upon Us!

Ok – before you ask – YES – Ice Cream Season is a real thing – very very real. It’s when the weather gets unbearably hot – and sticky, and humid – and the ONLY cure comes in the form of ICE CREAM-Y GOODNESS!

Ice Cream Baby.jpg

My son is a BIG fan of ice cream season (in case you couldn’t tell!)

The summer months here in Upstate NY where I live can be HOT HOT – humid and wet and just unpleasant – but we can’t hold a candle to what they deal with down south in Florida!

ponchos

Ponchos are a must when traveling to Disney in the summer – don’t want to get caught in the rain without one!

If you decide to head to Walt Disney World in the summer months – I bid you much luck – as the crowds can be intense, and it rains most days (better remember your ponchos!), and it’s HOT HOT HOT all the time – with humidity that is so thick it can be cut with a knife.

mickeybar.jpg

While it may not be ideal for some travelers, luckily – ice cream season is in FULL SWING at Disney World in the summertime. Aside from the iconic Mickey Ears Ice Cream bar, here are some awesome ice cream-y treats you can cool off with at Disney:

IceCream

My husband and I love going to get the Gold Rush Sundae from the Ghiradelli Ice Cream shop in Disney Springs – it has freshly made chocolate and peanut butter sauces – and while we normally share it I could easily finish off one of my own any day

DoleWhip

Ah, the Dole Whip – a frozen treat so iconic it has an almost cult-like following – and with good reason! Pineapple flavored soft serve, alone or paired with pineapple juice for a delicious float – it really is the perfect treat on a hot day

KitchenSinkBig

Beaches And Cream is home to this ULTIMATE Ice Cream Dessert – The Kitchen Sink – which comes with tons of ice cream, toppings, and even a WHOLE CAN of whipped cream! It’s made to serve 4 people, but you can definitely split it among more than that (especially if some are kids!)

KitchenSinkMini

Now, if you aren’t up to eating an entire sink’s worth of ice cream – there’s a miniature version available at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor – and the best part is you get to take the little sink home with you!!!!

There are really like hundreds of amazing Ice Cream treats at Walt Disney World – these are just a few of the best – and even though summer isn’t my favorite time to visit Disney, I would still go there during those months if I could – just to get my hands on these amazing treats!

What about you – how do YOU cool off in the hot summer heat?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – New Land Means New FOOD!

I recently wrote about the newest expansion opening this week at Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Pandora: The World Of Avatar – an immersive land that includes new rides and attractions, and it of course also includes new FOOD (which, if I’m being honest, is about 75% the reason I would even go anywhere ever – is for the food)

Check out what Pandora has to offer for your palette:

PandoraFood1

“Pods” – Steamed buns filled with either a cheeseburger mixture or vegetable curry, and served with root veggie chips and a veggie slaw. At breakfast time you can get them filled with eggs, bacon and spinach!

Pandorafood4

“Build Your Own” Bowls start with a base of quinoa, potato hash, rice, or kale salad, and then topped with a protein – beef, chicken, fish, or tofu, and the sauce of your choice – onion chimichurri, black bean vinaigrette, or herb dressing

Pandorafood2

This amazingly beautiful dessert is a blueberry cream cheese mousse topped with passionfruit curd

PandoraFood3

I am a big fan of boba – the little gelatin like balls found in bubble tea – so I will definitely want to try one of these new frozen drinks!

I can’t wait to see and do everything that Pandora has to offer – and I am especially looking forward to all the TASTES it will have to share, too!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – A Little #FBF – And Why I Love WDW

My husband says to me the other day “can you believe it’s been almost 7 years since we got married?” – and I really can’t – the time has flown by in a blur of love, laughter, fun, and trips to DISNEY of course! We went to Walt Disney World together for the first time on our honeymoon – it was hot, humid, and super crowded – but it was one of the best times I have ever had!

So today’s TGIF post is brought to you by me and my husband’s first ever trip together to the Most Magical Place On Earth:

When people ask me “Why do you love Disney so much – what’s so great about it?” It’s hard to put into words – it’s the sights, the sounds, the smells, the atmosphere – the rides, the food – it’s just such an amazing place with something everyone will love – and it will make you feel like a kid again (something we can all use once in a while!)

Happy Flashback Friday – and TGIF!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Usher In Spring and Summer With This Bright Disney Kitchenware!

Living in Upstate New York means that it can snow basically anytime from September through May – and even though it’s only early April, I feel almost *mostly* confident in saying that Spring has Sprung! Green things are growing, the temperatures are rising, and most exciting of all – I am MOVING SOON – to a house with a POOL! So needless to say, I am pumped for spring/summer this year – to have a deck and pool to get to enjoy the nice weather, and to get the chance to entertain and host many pool parties and get togethers! So as I like to do, I was browsing the Disney Store for some things that might go nicely in my new house, and I found some awesome kitchen/serving stuff that is PERFECT for the upcoming warm weather months:

Citrus3Citrus2Citrus1

I can just see myself serving up drinks and snacks in these adorable bowls and cups while lounging on my deck by the pool! Check out the full line of Mickey Mouse Citrus here

And here’s hoping I’m right about no more snow – fingers crossed! TGIF!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Cheers To The Weekend!

I don’t know about you, but I am VERY glad that we have reached the end of the work week – my household has been particularly busy lately as we prepare to sell our house and buy a new one, so by the time Friday comes around lately – I have been MORE than ready to relax and unwind – and what better way to do that than to enjoy a deliciously refreshing adult beverage?

While I wish more than anything I could be back at WDW enjoying these amazing restaurants and drinks, I will settle for just a chance to put my feet up and spend time with my favorite men (big, little, and dog!)

TGIF – and Cheers!
