Disney+ Is Coming – Are YOU Ready?

disney-plus-tv-originals-2-hero-aldd

Less than a week until Disney launches their new streaming service – Disney Plus is set to release on November 12th, and I don’t know about you, but for me it feels like Christmas is coming early this year!

Of course, in true Disney fashion – you can already Sign-Up, and even get a discount for paying annually (as opposed to monthly). The monthly price is set at $6.99, but annually they are offering it for $69.99 – which is basically like getting 2 months free. Additionally, they will be offering it as an add-on to Hulu – which will cost $13 a month for a Hulu/Disney+/ESPN+ bundle

But the BIG question on everyone’s mind (including mine!) – What will actually be ON Disney+? Like – what can I watch? Will all my favorite movies/shows be on there? At launch, there will be hundreds of movies and shows to choose from – including animated classics, Disney channel shows and much more – check out the list Here

The other question I had was – can I download movies/shows to watch offline? And – according to the official Disney+ Website – you CAN! “Download any TV show or movie – Unlimited downloads on up to 10 devices, so you can take your favorites with you” This is the best news of all to me – as it means I can load up my son’s (and my!) tablets before long road trips with fresh movies and shows for us to enjoy!

Learn more about this sure to be amazing streaming service here

What about YOU will you be investing in this new service?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Toy Story Party Prep

Next week, my little baby turns 5 – it’s hard to believe it’s been 5 years since he made me a mom – pardon me while I go sob about how big he’s gotten…

…Ok, now that I’ve had a good cry, back to the matter at hand – namely, his BIRTHDAY PARTY! It’s his first “friends” only party, and his theme? TOY STORY 4 – Specifically anything and everything to do with FORKY. Which – I can’t blame him – that movie was amazing, and Forky was hilarious

So, here’s what we have planned for the birthday boy:

We are going to make our own forkys, pin the eye on forky, and have a toy story photo booth with a giant forky! Oh. And matching shirts because – well yeah I am a bit extra haha

Pray for my survival tomorrow – as I try and tame a roomful of 5 year olds for craft and game time.

Classic Disney Movie Remakes – Yay Or Nay?

Lately, Disney has been following a new trend of re-making animated Disney classics into live action films

Recently, films such as Aladdin, Dumbo & The Lion King have been re-released as live action films, and over the past few years we have seen The Jungle Book as well as Beauty And The Beast be re-done as well. And slated to be re-made are The Little Mermaid, Lady & The Tramp, Fox & The Hound, and the list goes on

The remakes have been doing well in theaters, as Disney has a VERY loyal fan base – anything Disney is always popular, and always makes a TON of money.

That being said, I have to say – I am NOT a fan of these remakes – at all. They are boring, lifeless, and lose all the magic that the originals carried with them. Maybe it’s just me, and maybe the magic is all in my head – since the original Lion King and Aladdin are ones I remember seeing in theaters as a kid (and then re-watching over and over again on VHS!), and so for movies like those – no remake can compare.

My son recently watched the animated Aladdin, and loved it – the Genie was a favorite, as was Abu – and when I asked him if he wanted to watch the live action version and showed him the trailer of it online, he was very adamant that he did NOT want to watch the remake. I don’t blame him – I don’t want to watch it either #sorrynotsorry

But – I would LOVE to hear what YOU think – are these remakes worth a trip to the movie theater? Or is Disney just trying to make money off of the nostalgia factor?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney’s Live Action Dumbo Takes Flight!

hqdefault

Dumbo is one of those Disney movies I could never watch – it just was too much for me, emotionally. The mocking of Dumbo, the treatment of his mother, Dumbo and his mother and the song – I can’t – there just aren’t enough tissues in the world for it

So when I heard they were re-making it into a live-action film – let’s just say, my feelings were “mixed” at best…

But, after reading up on it – the cast seems really strong, and from what I have read and seen in trailers and such – it might just turn out to be an amazing remake! I will give it a chance…but I will still be bringing my tissues for SURE. The movie hits theaters next month – Will YOU be heading to see it?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – “Christopher Robin” Will Bring You Back

r_christopherrobin_header_ddt-16713_7c69a010

Last week Disney’s “Christopher Robin” arrived in theaters, delighting those of all ages – and bringing a new generation of fans to the movies to see a delightfully forgetful Hunny-loving bear and his pals go through misadventures in the Hundred Acre Wood:

The gang’s all here – Winnie the Pooh, Rabbit, Tigger, Eeyore, Kanga and Roo – all the characters I adored as a child have come back to help remind us of our childhoods

Disney said this about the film: “In the heatwarming live action adventure “Disney’s Christopher Robin,” the young boy who loved embarking on adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with a band of spirited and loveable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.”

…Sometimes I think we ALL need that reminder, a friend to help us find our way back to our true path. Well done, Pooh. Well done.

Pooh and friends were always a favorite of mine as a kid – so I can’t wait to head to the theater to check this out – What about you? Have you seen it yet?
