T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – My Top 5 Must Have New Disney Souvenirs

Souvenir shopping is an important part of every vacation, right? I mean – you have to get SOMETHING to help you remember your amazing Disney trip – and I personally enjoy shopping at Disney almost as much as the rides! They make it easy to spend money there, that’s for sure – there’s a shop/cart/stand around literally every corner – selling anything and everything from hats to fans and glow sticks, and everything in between too

Disney’s always switching up their merchandise – and I have to say, some of the new stuff is awesome – I want it all, but I think I shall try and narrow it down a bit. So here are my Top 5 Must Have New Disney Souvenirs:

Souvenir1

I have a LOT of mugs – and I know my husband wouldn’t be pleased, but I have to say – I would love to add this one to the collection. Vintage attraction posters are amazing, and it comes in a few different colors/designs

Souvenir2

The Disney Dooney and Burke Collection is so cute – they are always coming up with new patterns, and I love this black white and red mickey and Minnie pattern – better save my pennies for this one though…as they are not cheap (but worth it, in my opinion!)

Souvenir3

They have tons of great tech accessories in the Parks – Iphone cases, carriers, and awesome accessories like this e-reader case (my kindle would look fab in that!)

SOuvenir4

Gotta have an autograph book when you go to Disney – and this one is a photo album too – what a great memento this would make!

Souvenir5

Normally I don’t really do big souvenirs, but this Winnie the Pooh Pillow pal is great – not only does it count as an adorable plush friend, but can keep your neck and head nice and comfy on the flight home!

I know I will be picking up these must have items on my next Disney World trip, and if you can’t head to the Parks soon, then check out DisneyStore.com for all your Disney souvenir Desires

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Dreaming Of Disney (LAND That Is!)

I mostly write about how much I love Walt Disney World and how great of a place it is for adults (not just kids!), but today I find myself thinking of the place that started it all – Disneyland Park

I have been lucky enough to get to travel to Disneyland once – and I am hoping to go back someday and get to spend more time getting to know the Park that Walt built, the place where he saw his visions come to life!

Here’s a few reasons why I cannot WAIT to get back to Disneyland:

       DSC01259

Mickey’s Toontown may have been dismantled at Disney World to make room for the New Fantasyland, but fear not – as Toontown fans can still get their fix at Disneyland! Visit Mickey’s house, take a ride on Gadget’s Go Coaster, and top if off with a hot dog at Pluto’s Dog House (yum!)

DSC01212

Disneyland Park has many of the same rides as the Magic Kingdom, but they are not exactly the same – there are subtle differences in décor, styling, and the rides themselves – can you spot all the differences? When I rode Pirates of the Caribbean, I noticed the waiting area and entrance were different – and I loved getting to experience the unique qualities of the ride!

DSC01200

I had one of these when I was little – the brim was so heavy that when I fell asleep on the monorail my parents said my head dropped forward under the weight. I have never seen one for sale at Disney World since then, but I did spot this one at Disneyland!

DSC01190

Once awesome ride difference? The Mad Tea Party is OUTSIDE at Disneyland – isn’t that beautiful?

DSC01164

Oh, and so is part of “It’s A Small World” – love the topiaries and the outside of the building!

Looking at all these pics makes me want to go back SO BADLY. Oh – and one more thing to mention – Disneyland just happens to be in beautiful sunny California – a BIG WIN for someone like me (from Upstate NY where it snows 6-ish months a year!). Hoping to plan a trip to Disneyland soon – but until then, I shall keep on dreamin’…

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Itchin’ To Cruise Away….

My husband and I are parents to a 7 month old baby boy – he is beautiful, hilarious, and an amazing little guy – parenthood is such a great experience, and while we knew some of what to expect, one can never be fully prepared for all that kids take out of you – emotionally, physically, mentally – they are draining. It’s worth it for sure though, when he laughs or smiles when I walk into the room, I will remember those moments forever! That all being said – I think we are ready for a break. Mommy and Daddy need a vacation! We have been on a few cruises before, and are looking to try something new this time around, so after doing some research, we are leaning towards a Disney Cruise. After checking out these pics, I think you might see why it’s such a tempting choice…

  Cruise1

Their ships are huge and so beautiful – even on the outside!

Cruise2

After stepping on board, you’re surrounded by luxury! Isn’t this beautiful? I especially love the characters in the staircase!

Cruise3

There’s plenty to do on board – including swimming and even water slides – I know there’s a small child in this picture, but I can picture myself doing this too…

Cruise 4

Love this night time view

Cruise5

Plenty of Entertainment options onboard too – including live shows nightly

Cruise 6

Watching a movie on a giant screen while cannonballing into a pool? Yes please!

Doing research is awesome but also depressing when you realize how far away your vacation is….but someday (sorta) soon maybe we will get to experience all that Disney Cruise line has to offer. I can’t wait! What an amazing thing it would be to get to relax on a cruise ship with my man….I’m (mentally) there already!

T.G.I.F Pic Of The Week – Mickey Shaped Foods Make Eating Fun!

I’ve talked before about Mickey Shaped Foods, and for those of you who haven’t tried anything in this iconic mouse shape, and are thinking “um what’s so great about Mickey shaped foods?” – it’s hard to explain. Just try them – they are adorable, and they taste better than regular shaped food (seriously, it’s true!)

photos MickeyBars

The Mickey Bar – a chocolate covered vanilla ice cream treat on a stick. It’s classic, delicious, and perfect for anyone and everyone (but you better make quick work of it on a hot day!)

BigWaffle

Crispy on the outside, warm and soft and yeast-y on the inside (pauses to wipe up drool) – I don’t know of anyone who would turn down

a Mickey waffle

Sharing CakePop

The ears of this Mickey cake pop are actually little marshmallows – isn’t that clever? The cake itself is dense and moist and delicious…hence the sharing that is bordering on a fight to see who will get the last bite…

Pretzel

Soft pretzels are such a great snack – and these Mickey shaped ones are big enough to share too (should you feel so inclined)

You can make your own Mickey Shaped foods at home too – with a Mickey Cookie Cutter, Mickey egg ring, or a Mickey waffle maker (I have all of these, of course – and I even have two Mickey waffle makers!)

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney-Themed Mother’s Day Ideas

Hard to believe it’s already May, isn’t it? But here we are – another Spring upon us – the birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, the rain is falling (depending on where you live, it may be falling a LOT), and the temperature is slowly inching upward. Spring brings with it plenty of great things to look forward to – picnics, long strolls around the neighborhood, playing outside, longer days, and of course – Mother’s Day! In case you didn’t know, Mother’s Day is May 10th this year (yeah, as in NEXT SUNDAY!) – but don’t worry if you haven’t gotten a gift for mom yet, because I’ve got some great ideas for you (with a DISNEY flair, of course!)

Mday Frame

Photos are always a great gift for mom – a framed memory of a great Disney trip perhaps? These frames are great because they can be personalized, but there are plenty of other choices too – check out the Photos and Memories section of the Disney Store online for a whole bunch of album and frame options

What woman doesn’t love receiving jewelry as a gift? This set is really affordable, but if you’re looking for something a bit fancier, don’t worry – The Disney Store has got you covered there, too

Mday Vera

Vera Bradley bags and accessories are super popular right now – so if your mom is a fan, then I suggest you check out the Disney Vera Bradley Collection for a new tote or cute crossbody purse for Mom

Mday Mug

I don’t know many mothers who can survive without coffee (myself included!). Order mom a cute mug and gift it paired with a bag of her favorite brew

Mday Mom

I personally can’t wait to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom and my little guy this year – and I really hope she likes the gift I got her, and hopefully you’re inspired by this to pick out a great Disney gift for your mom too!
