T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week: Mickey FINALLY Gets His VERY OWN RIDE!

Runawayrailway4

Disney World is going through a TON of changes right now – and a lot of them are taking place over at Hollywood Studios – and I personally can’t wait for the opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway next year – where the Mouse and his main squeeze are the stars!

RR1

Mickey has never actually had his “own” ride at Disney World – so this is pretty cool news! Check out more details Here

RunawayRailway1

RR2

The ride will be located in the building previously used by The Great Movie Ride – and while I am still mourning the loss of that, if they HAVE to replace it with something – I guess a ride about the world’s most famous mouse is a decent replacement!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Lovely Gifts For Your Love

Valentine’s Day is upon us! That’s right – less than a week remains until everyone’s favorite “Hallmark Holiday” – and if you haven’t started your shopping or pre-ordered your roses for your Love – fear not! As I am here to help you with all your romantic gifting needs – and of course the best gifts are always Disney-themed, right?

VD18 1

This is on the TOP of my Valentine’s Wish list – what an adorable bangle (gotta love the Disney Alex and Ani – I know I do!)

VD18 2

Any Star Wars loving guy would LOVE to receive this amazing watch for Valentine’s Day (or any day, really!)

VD318

What a cute little plush Lady & The Tramp set for kids – and what a classic love story!

My son – who has NO IDEA what Valentine’s Day actually is or what it means – loves running around screaming “it’s almost VALENTINE’S DAY!” so luckily I don’t think either my husband or I will forget to celebrate or get each other gifts – and hopefully this can serve as a PSA to you (who may have forgotten Valentine’s is coming up quick?)

Check out more Disney gift ideas Here

And if all else fails, there is always candy and Jewelry, right?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Rose Gold Mania Hits The Disney Parks

It all started back in August – when these Rose Gold Minnie Ears hit the shelves at various shops throughout the Disney Parks

They were an instant hit – so much so that they couldn’t keep them in stock the first few months! (Don’t worry if you haven’t gotten yours yet – you can buy them on the ShopDisney App)

Disney took this as a good sign – and ran with it:

The millennial pink Magic band was introduced soon thereafter…

…As were these Rose Gold Jerseys

Soon enough, they realized it was time to venture outside of apparel – and go for the big guns…

…and by big guns I mean DESSERT, of course! This is the new Rose Gold Ears Cupcake – available at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot. The cake itself is marble, with a pile of vanilla buttercream on top. The bow and ears are fondant – which means they are edible but probably not the best tasting thing ever – but they sure are adorable!

This one definitely falls into the “too cute to eat (but I will demolish it anyway)” category! I hope they are still around later this year when I head to WDW

What about you – will you be giving into the “Rose Gold” trend for any of these awesome goodies?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Relaxing In “The Big Easy”

It’s probably not a shock that when I daydream, it’s largely of all things DISNEY – I miss the sights, sounds, smells and experiences that I can only get at the Disney Parks, and this week especially has made me want to escape the doldrums of everyday life and relax and regroup in my favorite place ever – Walt Disney World! I know it may seem weird that Disney World is a place I would choose to go to “unwind” – as the Parks are crowded, loud, and high energy – BUT – there are definitely plenty of places on WDW property where the pace slows down, and things are quiet, calm, and perfect for that vacation vibe of doing nothing at all!

One of the best places I have found to really enjoy the quaintness and splendor of Walt Disney World is at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort – where the “Big Easy” New Orleans motif is really embraced and carried on throughout the grounds. Check it out:

It’s smaller than a lot of the other WDW Resort Hotels, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped with fountains and greenery everywhere. One of the best parts about staying here is just taking a stroll around the Resort, enjoying the quiet beauty in all its glory.

You might think that since it’s Mardi Gras themed, it would be loud and crowded and just a 24/7 party – and it’s really not in my experience – it’s like a party, but a quiet, relaxed one where you can go at your own pace and enjoy the fun, sights, and food (they serve up traditional New Orleans fare – including beignets!)

This resort is definitely one of my “Happy Places” – and I can’t wait to go back and experience the feeling all over again!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – What I Miss The Most

I cannot WAIT to head to Walt Disney World in September – not only will it be my son’s first trip there, but it will be our first time going since Christmas 2013. Yeah – it will have been over FIVE YEARS since we have been to WDW – and there are SO MANY things I miss about it – but here are the things I miss the most:

DSC00520

The Characters – I don’t care how old you are, a hug from your favorite Disney character is always a great feeling!

The Shopping: Ears galore, shirts, bags, mugs, magnets – and about a million other awesome Disney themed souvenirs to browse and buy

IMG_0192

The FOOD: Sweet, savory, and everything in between – Disney has the BEST FOOD EVER ON THE PLANET – I love it all – but I am particularly partial to the baked goods – cupcakes, cake pops, breakfast pastries, funnel cakes, churros – you name it, I miss it and can’t wait to eat one (or more!) of everything!

The MAGIC: It’s hard to put into words, but this is definitely the thing I miss most – that feeling you get when you walk down Main Street, or when you notice a hidden Mickey in the sidewalk stones – if you’re never experienced it, you should – it’s worth waiting for, and it’s worth every penny and hour spent planning and traveling. It’s worth it ALL and then some

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – New Year’s Resolutions – Getting Healthy With RUNDisney

For many, a healthier lifestyle is part of their New Years Resolutions – which makes sense – what better time than after the always food-heavy holidays to get fit? New Year, fresh start, clean slate and all that. It’s harder than it sounds though – eating healthy is hard, and finding time to work out can be a challenge, too! But – luckily – Disney is here for you – with motivation in the form of RunDisney – believe it or not, the Disney Parks host MANY races each year – here are just a few you can start prepping for:

Print

The Disney Princess Half Marathon is held in February, and it is actually a whole weekend full of fun – there’s the ½ marathon, 10k, 5k, and children’s races – and a health and fitness expo, VIP Race Retreat package, and much more!

RunDisney2

There’s also a Star Wars themed half marathon too – held in April, similar structure to the Princess Half Marathon where there’s runs of different lengths and for those of all ages

What better way to follow through on those New Year’s Resolutions than to start training for a RunDisney event? Getting healthy, staying fit, and a visit to Walt Disney World? Sign me up! No ok don’t actually sign me up as I am a terrible runner – but maybe someday ha

If you need some help getting started, check out the RunDisney Training Page and Blog for tips and much more
