T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney Wardrobe – DONE!

My family is headed to Walt Disney World in September – and even though that may be (several) months away, I have already begun preparing. Lists galore – packing list, “To-Do” list, souvenir wish list, and of course – a pre-trip shopping list. There are practical things on there – like sunscreen, snacks, and antibacterial wipes – and then there are the slightly LESS practical items – like “new Disney wardrobes for everyone”. Would I love to buy cute new outfits (some even matching) for us to all wear for our trip? Of course. But am I made of money/am I insane? A big NO to both of those – I have enough to plan for/think about/deal with when it comes to vacation planning to be attempting to also shop like crazy for new clothes – and as much as I want to – it’s just not practical for me and my family

So, in lieu of that, I decided I better see what we have to wear for Disney! And the good news is – we have A LOT:

Wardrobe3

My husband has a few – my fave is the Star Wars “Galaxy’s Best Dad” one – makes me laugh

Wardrobe2

My son of course has a TON – as he loves Disney, Star Wars and basically anything animated

Wardrobe1

….And of course, I have the most – including some Minnie Mouse printed LuLaRoe leggings

So – as it turns out, I can cross “new Disney wardrobes” off my shopping list – as we already have TONS of great stuff to wear on our trip in September! Will we match/coordinate? Probably not – but does that even really matter? Probably not ha

Side note –those of you who have the money/time/desire to buy all new clothes and matching outfits and all that for your Disney vacation – good for you and more power to you! I in NO WAY judge you AT ALL – I personally just have to (unfortunately) draw the line somewhere – and I think since we already have a ton of cute stuff, we will just be able to wear what we have, and still be able to show off our Disney Love with every outfit!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Top Travel Accessories – Adult Edition!

Last week I talked about my top picks for Toddler Travel Accessories – and this week I figured now that I have my little guy covered, why not pick out some great stuff that I can use, too? Here are my top travel accessory picks for adults:

AdultTravel1

A neck pillow is a must when traveling on an airplane, but this one really takes it to the next level – the hood would be perfect for blocking out all the light and some of the noise, too!

AdultTravel2

Counter space is at a premium in most hotels – so keep all your little bottles and toiletries organized in this carrier which conveniently hangs right on the door/shower rod/closet rod

AdultTravel3

Ok and stay with me on this one – I know it’s SUPER nerdy looking – but this Travel wallet straps right to you and can help keep the things most important to you (passports/phone/credit cards/ID’s) close by and safe

Then there’s this amazing new Mickey Phone Kickstand I just got – I know it’s not really a “travel” accessory but it gets an honorable mention as it will certainly get used a lot during my trip (yes – there will be a LOT of selfies taken during this vacation!)

These will all come in SUPER handy when my family and I head to Disney World this fall

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney Stroller Dilemma – SOLVED!

I recently wrote about how my family and I are headed to Walt Disney World this fall, and that I couldn’t decide what to do about possibly bringing a stroller along for my son (who will be nearly 4 when we go)

Well – I am excited to announce that the STROLLER DILEMMA HAS BEEN SOLVED! Meet the GB Pockit Stroller

stroller3

It is the “World’s Smallest Folding Stroller” – With its innovative two-step folding design, the Pockit is the 2014 Guiness World Records most compact stroller folding down to 11.8” x 7” x 13.8” and a weight of 9.5 pounds

stroller1

I was SO PUMPED to get it out of the box and test it out – truth be told I could not figure it out easily so I had to watch a YouTube tutorial – but just a couple minute video was all I needed to get it up and running

stroller2

It holds up to 55 pounds (which is good as my son is not a small boy – he’s almost 40 lbs already!), and is a comfortable height for myself and my (super tall!) husband to push. This thing fits easily into a regular old backpack that we had laying around – and it is going to be the PERFECT THING to bring along to Disney World. No leaving it outside of rides, no pushing around an empty stroller if the kid wants to walk, no gate checking it at the airport – none of that. And I am SO EXCITED ABOUT IT!

Oh – and just in case you were wondering – the stroller company did not in ANY way sponsor this post AT ALL (sorta wish they would have – maybe I would have gotten a discount then – as these do NOT come cheap – but I was lucky enough to score a good deal on Amazon for it!) – I am legit just THAT excited about being able to bring this stroller along that I wanted to share it with you – who knows maybe it will solve your “to bring or not to bring a stroller?” dilemma too?!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – 18 Reasons To Visit Walt Disney World In 2018

As a Disney LOVER – I don’t need any excuse/reason to visit Walt Disney World – I would go anytime, anyplace, no questions asked. BUT – in case you need some convincing – check out some of these Top Reasons To Visit Walt Disney World in 2018:

18 reasons1

THE OPENING OF TOY STORY LAND! This is one I am personally pretty pumped about – as my family and I are headed there in September, and my son is a BIG Toy Story fan – he loves his Buzz and Woody, and he will go nuts at seeing them life size at Hollywood Studios!

18 reasons 2

Star Wars Fans will be glad to hear that there will be TONS of new stuff themed after the franchise coming to the Parks in 2018: props from The Last Jedi will be on display at the Star Wars Launch Bay in Hollywood Studios, an immersive virtual reality experience at Disney Springs, and two new destinations have been added to the Star Tours Ride, too!

NEW FOOD – Disney Springs is opening EIGHT new dining locations in 2018 – to include The Edison – a restaurant/bar/lounge created from an old power plant with dazzling “Edison-Era” décor throughout –with a larger than life clock tower greeting you at the entrance

There is SO MUCH to look forward to when you’re planning a Disney World vacation – all the great things you will get to experience, see, eat, do – but in case you needed even more convincing – here’s the full list of the top 18 reasons to head there this year (courtesy of the Disney Parks Blog!)

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – My (Disney!) New Year’s Resolutions

2017 is rapidly coming to an end – and with a new year upon us, it’s customary for some to resolve to better themselves. I personally enjoy the idea of New Year’s Resolutions (even if I am not always the best at following through on them – oops!), and have decided that this year I will make them more fun by adding a bit of a Disney Twist to them! Since we are headed to Walt Disney World next fall, I have some things on my “Disney Resolutions” List to take care of before/during that time:

18 Res 1

Read This Book from cover to cover. A LOT has changed since the last time I went to Disney World – and I want to be sure I am up to date on all the changes and what to expect when we head there in September. It’s a daunting task – at 864 pages, it will certainly take some time to complete – but it’s very thorough and detailed, and I know I can get it done! If you’re looking for something a bit shorter then check out these Other Disney Guidebooks

18 res 2

Decide if we are going to Bring a Stroller to Disney World with us or not – seems like an easy decision, you either do or you don’t, right? But it’s a bit more involved than that for us – and I am hoping we can decide what to do and ultimately that that decision will help us make the most out of our trip!

18-res-3.jpg

Above all – my top “Disney New Years Resolution” is to prepare my little man as best I can for what will hopefully be the first of many amazing trips to Walt Disney World! I want to be well packed, well equipped, and well prepared to handle a toddler on a Disney World Vacation. Toddlers can be tricky – but I think I got this!

What about you – are you making any New Year’s Resolutions as we head into 2018?

Disney With Toddlers – The Stroller Dilemma

It has been SO LONG since I have had time to write a non TGIF post for this blog – just – wow. As a mom you always feel like there’s about 847 things pulling you in every direction, requiring – no – DEMANDING your attention – and it’s hard to find time for much aside from the day to day. Not an excuse – just reality

collage

Toddler life is intense – but AMAZING. I get to watch this guy learn and grow every day!

And in less than a year, we’re all headed to Walt Disney World for our first family trip – and I can’t WAIT. I am pretty close to starting to count down the days (even though we aren’t going until next September!) – as I can’t wait to get back to my favorite place in the world, and to show my son all the Magic!

There is ONE thing that is starting to pose somewhat of a dilemma though – and it’s how to answer this question – to Stroller or not to Stroller?

Should we bring our stroller to Disney World?

Why I am thinking “Yes”
-An average day at the Disney Parks means WALKING – MILES AND MILES of it – and as strong and big as he is -I KNOW he cannot handle walking as much as we do in Disney – he will get tired and cranky and the stroller is the perfect thing to help prevent that
-I can stash my crap in the bottom of the stroller – no backpack lugging for me! Plus – strollers have cup holders
-Snacks on the go – gives him the chance to eat while we stroll – even has the built in tray and cup holder on the front of it
-Airport ease – The Disney Parks aren’t the only place that are HUGE – walking from one gate to another for a connecting flight at a bigger airport (like Atlanta – which is typically where we connect through) could potentially be a disaster with an un-strollered toddler in tow. Stroller makes it easier and faster to get from point A to point B
-He’s comfortable in it – he likes sitting in it, he’s used to it, it’s easy to push/maneuver

Why I’m thinking “No Way”
-Airport issues – while it may help you make your connecting flight in time, the stroller can also be a pain when it comes to air travel. It has to be inspected at security, and each airline has a slightly different procedure when it comes to checking strollers. Most gate check them, which means in theory you get it back right when you get off – but that can be a process that takes time, and there’s always the potential for the airline to “misplace” it accidentally
-Stroller parking lots – Outside every ride at Walt Disney World is a huge area FULL of strollers – since you obviously can’t bring it inside the rides with you, you’re forced to leave it alone outside – but you wouldn’t want to leave your valuables with it, so then that means toting those along with you on every ride, and then there’s always the (super slim but still it exists) possibility that your stroller could get damaged or stolen while you’re away from it
-It’s huge. I mean – it’s a normal size for a stroller, but let’s face it – all strollers are huge, cumbersome, and awkward to carry when folded up – and that on top of luggage can quickly turn into a huge ordeal
-Dragging it around is going to be a pain – folding it up and carrying it on the buses/monorails/boats…

I could go on and on about the pros and cons – but at the end of the day, I am pretty sure I am leaning towards sucking it up and bringing the stroller along to Walt Disney World. It really will be useful to have, and will help my son get to enjoy more of the Disney experience

And hey – it’s not like I’m alone – there will be plenty of other parents toting around their toddlers strollers and loving every minute of it! And if all else fails – there’s always wine.

Hopefully in the coming months I will be able to make more time to devote to writing about Disney – I mean, I think about it enough, shouldn’t be that hard to put those thoughts to paper, right? In theory anyway…We shall see. #WishMeLuck
