So Halloween is over, the candy has been eaten (well its all gone in my house at least!), and if you’ve been to any store in the past two weeks you’ll agree that the Christmas season is upon us (whether you like it or not!). Commercials, sales, merchandise – it’s all out and ready to help you celebrate! It may be a bit early to start Christmas shopping or listening to Christmas Carols, but it’s never too early to plan a trip to Walt Disney World at Christmastime! I HIGHLY recommend it – I personally have gone twice during the holiday season and its a great time for those who want to combine their love of Christmas with their love of Disney World (what, doesn’t everyone love those two things as much as I do?!)
Here are a few of the awesome things you can expect to experience when you visit WDW at Christmas:
The FOOD – Holiday themed treats are around every corner – from peppermint fudge to snowman candy apples, and seasonal cupcakes and cookies too!
Attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is one of the other things I recommend – it’s an extra ticket cost as it’s a special event, but it’s worth it – a special parade and character appearances, free cookies and cocoa, and that’s right, it even SNOWS on Main Street! What could be better?
Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios you’ll find the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights – a display of millions of Christmas lights that is lit nightly, and the lights blink in tune to famous Christmas Carols. We went on Christmas Day to see this, and it was amazing – I couldn’t picture a better way to spend Christmas Day with my family!
Are you a big fan of Gingerbread? Well then you’re in luck, as several of the Disney Resorts construct Gingerbread displays that are truly a sight to behold – as in this house is made entirely of actual baked gingerbread – pretty cool, right? Oh – and if you’re a fan of actually EATING gingerbread, then you’ll appreciate the fact that you can buy gingerbread “shingles” to take home too!
Disney World is amazing all times of the year, but Christmas is when it really shines – literally! The lights, decor, giant decorated trees, songs, treats, and everything else all add up to an amazing holiday experience which I hope you are lucky enough to get to experience someday!
Oh and by the way – there are only 48 days until Christmas!
TGIF!
