T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Ho Ho Ho! Holiday Treats Have Arrived At The Disney Parks!

There’s plenty to be thankful for this Holiday season – health, family, home, love, and of course – FOOD!

Christmas or other holiday meals and treats are amazing, and I love a good homemade treat – but I would gladly trade that in for a chance to sample some of the amazing meals and snacks served up at the Disney Parks this time of year!
Here’s a few of my top picks:

It’s not Christmas without cookies am I right? Gingerbread men, intricately decorated sugar cookies shaped like Mickey – and they even have “cookie shots” – cookie cups filled with milk or hot chocolate

Pictured here we have:
-Gingerbread Cupcake topped with cream cheese icing (and a buttercream tree!)
-Peppermint Cookies & Cream Shake
-Popcorn (in a festive Holiday bucket!)
-Double chocolate peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich

While I have been lucky enough to spend multiple Christmases at Disney World, I unfortunately won’t be there to check these out this year

What about YOU – are you heading to Disney this Holiday Season? What treats are YOU most excited to try?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Top Disney Toys That EVERY Kid Will Love

I don’t know about you but I am DEEP in Christmas prep – like – shoulder deep – cookies, wrapping, decorating, Santa-ing – it’s ALL happening over here – the season is in FULL FORCE at our house. And if you’re like me, you probably have some little ones on your shopping list that you haven’t bought for yet because you have NO idea what to get them. Well – join the club – cousins, friends of your kids, nieces/nephews – it’s hard to pick out something they will like! Luckily – I have done some research for you – and come up with these Top Disney Toy Picks:

XmasToys1

Dress Up Clothes – because what little girl doesn’t want to dress as their favorite Disney Princess?

Xmastoys2

Mickey’s Clubhouse – Anyone with a little one knows how much they love Mickey – EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM love him – no matter what age. So this playset is perfect for hours of fun

XmasToys3

Fun for the whole family! (and if you think this isn’t a toy – hand your little one a stack of the cards and watch them “play” with it for hours – my son LOVES pretending to play on his own and looking at the pictures on the cards)

At the end of the day, kids want TOYS for Christmas. Clothes, candy, books – those are all well and good, but let’s be real – it’s the toys they want to unwrap. So, stick with these awesome toys and you will be the coolest mom/aunt/friend/cousin ever!

T.G.I.F Pic Of The Week – Full Speed Ahead To CHRISTMAS!

Ok, I know what you’re thinking – it’s not even Thanksgiving yet and this chick is writing about Christmas? Well – yes. Yes I am. Not only am I a notorious over-planner (meaning I love lists and like to plan wayyyy way ahead), but I am also a mom – which means not only do I have to bake, send cards, wrap gifts, decorate – but I also have to ensure that I am creating that Christmas magic for my son, too!

XmasCraft5
Which honestly I am SO THRILLED to do – this year he is 3 and finally old enough to start to understand Christmas, and how Santa operates – that part he is SUPER aware of – “Sant bring me that toy?” is one of his new phrases. Because of that, and also because of the fact that he is a lot more aware this year, we are also going to try and include him in on our annual charity work – donating to those in need – warm winter clothes, food, toys – we will bring him along so he can help pick it all out. We are trying to get him to understand that not everyone can afford new toys every Christmas – and I am hoping this is a message that sticks with him for years to come!

Another thing he is super into (aside from what Santa may bring him of course) right now is crafts – he LOVES little projects – I have found that pre-packaged ones from craft stores that include stuff like self adhesive parts are a HUGE hit with him – and so since he ALSO loves Disney, I thought why not try and find some Disney Craft projects for him to try?

Xmascraft4

My son is BIG into Monsters Inc right now – so this Ornament would be right up his alley!

Xmascraft3

Considering that he is always grabbing the black drink coasters and pretending they are his “Mickey Ears” – I think this would be a hit, too

Xmascraft2

Alien Elves – so cute!

XmasCraft1

Not sure what he would enjoy more- creating this adorable Candy Box, or eating the candy we put in it (ok – I am sure – the box would be a hit but the candy wins every time ha)

Hopefully these help get you and your little ones into the Christmas spirit – TGIF – and happy crafting!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Christmas Treats (Disney Style!)

Last week I shared some of the amazing Christmas décor at the WDW Parks, and it got me to thinking – decorating for the holidays is a great tradition that the whole family can participate it, and another HUGE part of the holidays (at least in my house!) is the FOOD – cookies, special meals, hot cocoa by the fire, and so much more! Well – Disney goes all out when it comes to Holiday food too – check out some of the amazing treats you can find at WDW during the Christmas season:

Krispie Treats get some added festive décor

Popcorn buckets shaped like snowman Mickey are a bit pricey, but worth it!

And you can even grab cocoa and cookies (for free!) if you attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

I love the creativity the cast members added to this gelato!

Here’s hoping your holiday prep and fun includes plenty of delicious treats, too!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  xmas16-2

I may not be celebrating Christmas Day at Walt Disney World this year, but I am lucky enough to have done so a few years back – it was the best Christmas of all time – until my son came along, of course!

xmas16-3

Now it’s all about him, and watching him grow and learn to enjoy the holiday – from Santa, to presents, to traditions, to the true meaning of the holiday – I have the honor of getting to teach him all about all of it!

xmas16

From my little family to you and yours – Merry Christmas – may your day be merry, bright, and full of love and laughter!

TGIF! And here’s hoping Santa is good to you all! Now if you will excuse me – there are some Christmas Cookies calling my name…

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Trimming The Tree And Decking The Halls

Christmas is a mere NINE days away – hard to believe, isn’t it? Hopefully you have all your presents picked out and wrapped and ready to go – and you can spend the next week relaxing, laughing, visiting with family, and eating cookies!

Last week I wrote about how the WDW Parks get all dressed up for the holidays, so this week I wanted to show you how I dress up MY house for the season:

Even the dog gets in on the fun (reluctantly at first – but once he realizes treats are involved, he is all about the sweater!). And of course there are plenty of Disney touches to our holiday décor – because what kind of Disney addict would I be without Disney ornaments on my tree, and Mickey stockings hung with care?

TGIF – and happy last weekend of shopping before Christmas!
