T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Oh TWO-dles!

Last week one of my favorite little ones turned 2 – Miss Ella is one of my close friends daughters – and we were so thrilled to celebrate her birthday with her.

…And even MORE thrilled when we found out that the theme was MINNIE MOUSE!

My BFF and I with the Birthday Girl (proof that I will break out my Minnie ears whenever I can)

My son had a great time playing with Ella and especially enjoyed the (Mickey) balloons

Trying to get 4 toddlers to pose…futile, but the outtakes are adorable

FINALLY – a place to wear these shirts besides Disney World!

A great party – and we even got party hats to take home!

Side Note – I may or may not be posting this in hopes my husband will plan a similar Minnie Mouse party for me this year? They make Ella’s outfit in my size, I bet…? Maybe?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Top Disney Toys That EVERY Kid Will Love

I don’t know about you but I am DEEP in Christmas prep – like – shoulder deep – cookies, wrapping, decorating, Santa-ing – it’s ALL happening over here – the season is in FULL FORCE at our house. And if you’re like me, you probably have some little ones on your shopping list that you haven’t bought for yet because you have NO idea what to get them. Well – join the club – cousins, friends of your kids, nieces/nephews – it’s hard to pick out something they will like! Luckily – I have done some research for you – and come up with these Top Disney Toy Picks:

XmasToys1

Dress Up Clothes – because what little girl doesn’t want to dress as their favorite Disney Princess?

Xmastoys2

Mickey’s Clubhouse – Anyone with a little one knows how much they love Mickey – EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM love him – no matter what age. So this playset is perfect for hours of fun

XmasToys3

Fun for the whole family! (and if you think this isn’t a toy – hand your little one a stack of the cards and watch them “play” with it for hours – my son LOVES pretending to play on his own and looking at the pictures on the cards)

At the end of the day, kids want TOYS for Christmas. Clothes, candy, books – those are all well and good, but let’s be real – it’s the toys they want to unwrap. So, stick with these awesome toys and you will be the coolest mom/aunt/friend/cousin ever!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week: Disney Gifts For A Disney Loving Boy (And His Mom!)

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas – and that you got to enjoy friends, family, food, and FUN! Our Christmas was great – my son had the best time, and of course he received TONS of great presents – many of which had a DISNEY theme to them:

gift3

A super comfy Mickey couch (perfect for enjoying viewings of what else? Disney movies, of course!)

gift2

A super amazing Mickey sleeping bag made by my mother in law – with no pattern (she really is talented!)

gift4

This was a big hit, as you can imagine!

gift1

And a super cool Mickey fire truck, too!

gift5

He wasn’t the only one who got in on the Disney gifts – I was lucky enough to receive this amazing mug I have been drooling over for a while now from my husband – it’s perfect for me as I LOVE mugs, and I LOVE to bake!

What about you – did you get everything on your Disney wish list this year? If not – don’t worry – there’s always next year!

TGIF, and Happy New Year!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney Christmas Wish Lists

We may only be partly through November, but I know I for one have already gotten a bunch of Christmas shopping done – I like to plan ahead, and I like making lists, too! So while I plug away at ticking things off my “To Do/To Buy” list, I am also working on making a Wish List. You’re never too old to make a list of things you hope “Santa” will bring you, and since I am a Disney fanatic, of course my Christmas Wish List Is Full of Disney:

     adult-hoodie

Is it slightly ridiculous to wish for a hoodie with ears at 32 years old? Probably. But do I care? NO WAY – just look at how cute this thing is!!!

pursexmas
Ok well – this one is probably a bit unrealistic to wish for, but hey, it’s MY wish list – therefore I can put whatever I want on it!
holidaymug10
With a toddler to look after, plus shopping, baking, entertaining, traveling, wrapping, and MUCH more to do this holiday season – I think I can safely say that I will need MUCH coffee to get me through – and this mug would certainly help put me in that holiday spirit!

?

Ok well, enough about me – let’s talk about the guy I can’t seem to stop shopping for.

My 2 year old is definitely a “Disney addict in training”,

because his wish list this year is pretty heavily Disney-populated too:
microphone
Since he likes to pick up dog toys and pretend they are microphones, I thought this one would be a good choice (less sharp and heavy than the dog toys at least!)
shelves
With more toys does NOT come more space in my house – so any way I can find to store all his stuff is a win for me – plus these have the Mouse himself on them – so it’s a win/win for me and my Mickey-obsessed little man!
pjs
I couldn’t help myself on these – he will look so dang cute!

Hopefully this has inspired you to get going on your own wish list – and your to do list for the holidays! TGIF!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Birthday Planning – With A Disney Flair

 ThugLife

This week my little guy is SIX MONTHS OLD! Which may not seem very old – but it’s pretty amazing to see how far he has come, and my husband and I are so grateful for him, and we are celebrating the fact that we survived the first six months (relatively) unscathed! Now he may only be halfway to one, but as far as I’m concerned – it’s never too early to start planning for his 1st major milestone – his FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY! We booked the park lodge already, and now it’s time to think about the details – things like cake, food, and THEME are the main points of conversation now – and of course a Disney theme is a possibility, which got me to thinking – how could I do a Disney theme? What’s out there that I can use, and what can I make myself? Check out what I found…

Bday 1

An UP themed birthday is great because it’s so colorful – and it involves balloons – and what little kid doesn’t love balloons?

Bday 2

Bday 3

There’s plenty of stuff available at places like Party City, Wal-Mart, and other party stores – super cute Baby Minnie and Mickey stuff, and plenty of other Disney options too – Cars is a favorite of a lot of little boys for sure!

Bday 5

Bday 6

Bday 7

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is a show that definitely took some time to grow on me – I did NOT care for the creepy 3-D ish characters or the way Mickey’s ears don’t really move when he turns his head (strange right?), but I know how much my son likes it – the colors, the songs, and the stories are usually pretty fun and send a good message, so needless to say – I got over my dislike of it, and we watch it all the time now! It would also make a great party theme – there’s plenty of décor available out there, and you can easily compliment the Mickey items with primary colored napkins/tablecloths/balloons, etc. It’s great for boys OR girls too

Bday 4

…So maybe this isn’t good for a first birthday party, but if the kids are a bit older, wouldn’t this be fun? A Mickey Mouse bouncy house!!! Just make sure they don’t eat too much cake beforehand…

So while I mull over what his birthday party theme should be, I also need to seriously consider my cake options – check out some cake inspiration here, and while you do that I think I might go whip up a “test” cake…and since he’s too little to eat it now, I better just try it on his behalf (yum!)

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week: Have Your (Disney) Cake And Eat It Too!

Now that I’m a mom, my inspiration for most things usually starts from something related to my son – in this case, I happened to see some birthday parties for little ones on Facebook, and not only were they all super amazing and perfectly themed, but they all had adorable cakes and cupcakes too – and it got me to thinking about ideas for my baby’s first birthday (which is many months away, but hey planning ahead is good right?) – and as far as I’m concerned, the CAKE is one of the most important parts of any party! Check out these awesome Disney themed cakes:

  Cake UP

The movie UP is such a great love story – and a cake like this would be a perfect wedding cake, don’t you think? What a way to start out your greatest adventure yet!

Cake Smash

A baby’s first birthday party wouldn’t be complete without a smash cake would it? Something simple and not too intricate like this one would be perfect (after all, it’s just going to wind up all over their hands – and face, hair, feet, probably the floor and walls and…well, you get the idea)

Cake Princess

I love this Princess cake – subtly celebrating some of Disney’s most beloved characters and movies! I also enjoy that it’s not over the top frilly or glittery or extra girly – its classy and fit for royalty!

Cake Shower

And of course – I HAVE to mention the cupcakes my mother in law made for my own amazing baby shower (yeah, those are brownie Mickeys in them – aren’t they amazing?!)

frozen8

Ok – so let’s be real here – not everyone is as crafty as my mother in law (like me, for example…), but luckily, most grocery store bakeries have the ability to add some Disney magic to their sheet cakes – with designs like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Pooh and Friends, and yes – even Frozen – this means everyone can enjoy some Disney cake on their Birthday!

Ok – now I really want cake. That’s acceptable for breakfast right?
