T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week: Have Your (Disney) Cake And Eat It Too!

Now that I’m a mom, my inspiration for most things usually starts from something related to my son – in this case, I happened to see some birthday parties for little ones on Facebook, and not only were they all super amazing and perfectly themed, but they all had adorable cakes and cupcakes too – and it got me to thinking about ideas for my baby’s first birthday (which is many months away, but hey planning ahead is good right?) – and as far as I’m concerned, the CAKE is one of the most important parts of any party! Check out these awesome Disney themed cakes:

  Cake UP

The movie UP is such a great love story – and a cake like this would be a perfect wedding cake, don’t you think? What a way to start out your greatest adventure yet!

Cake Smash

A baby’s first birthday party wouldn’t be complete without a smash cake would it? Something simple and not too intricate like this one would be perfect (after all, it’s just going to wind up all over their hands – and face, hair, feet, probably the floor and walls and…well, you get the idea)

Cake Princess

I love this Princess cake – subtly celebrating some of Disney’s most beloved characters and movies! I also enjoy that it’s not over the top frilly or glittery or extra girly – its classy and fit for royalty!

Cake Shower

And of course – I HAVE to mention the cupcakes my mother in law made for my own amazing baby shower (yeah, those are brownie Mickeys in them – aren’t they amazing?!)

frozen8

Ok – so let’s be real here – not everyone is as crafty as my mother in law (like me, for example…), but luckily, most grocery store bakeries have the ability to add some Disney magic to their sheet cakes – with designs like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Pooh and Friends, and yes – even Frozen – this means everyone can enjoy some Disney cake on their Birthday!

Ok – now I really want cake. That’s acceptable for breakfast right?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to everyone! Hope you enjoy this fun holiday as much as I do – I love scary movies and trick or treating and candy and costumes and decorating for it – it’s a great time for all, and now that I have a little guy of my own, it will be great to get to experience it all with him too!

20141023_112219

Here’s my little guy all ready to party! Ok well maybe not party – maybe take a nap. and poop. But still – he’s dressed for the occasion anyway! He also has a Mickey Mouse costume to rock out tonight when we hand out candy (what kind of Disney lover would I be if I didn’t have a Disney costume for him, right?!)

Speaking of Disney costumes, you can buy them pretty much everywhere now – costume stores, Target, Walmart, KMart – you name a store, they carry Disney Halloween gear! If you’re planning on heading to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at WDW’s Magic Kingdom, then you will definitely want to think about what to wear to it – costumes are encouraged and are a must for any trick or treating party! People really like to think outside the box when it comes to dressing for the party:

Halloween1

Toy Story Themed Toys – Love this as a family costume idea!

Halloween2

Haunted Mansion characters – so creative!

Halloween3

UP themed couple’s costume

Halloween4

These Mickey Bars look delicious, don’t they?!

Halloween5

Classic Couple Mickey And Minnie pose for a kiss!

So while you can buy premade Disney costumes anywhere, if you use your imagination you can probably come up with something even more unique and amazing to wear to the Party – whether it be at Disney or at home!

Enjoy your Halloween – and TGIF!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Going To The (Disney!) Dogs

Today is our family dog’s birthday – Mollie is a beautiful chocolate lab celebrating her EIGHTH birthday! I can’t believe she is 8 (makes me feel old!) – she is still so puppy like in so many ways! She is full of life and love – and we are so grateful to have her in our family!

Puppy Mollie

Here she is as a little baby – giving my husband a high five

 ThreeDogs

Here she is with our other family dogs – my boy Walter on the right and his sister Lucy on the left belongs to my parents – can you tell I am holding a treat?

MOLLIE ANDREW

And here Mollie is with her main man – my husband Andrew. She has been enamored with him since the very day she laid eyes on him. Mollie may live at my parent’s house, but her heart belongs to Andrew – they are quite the pair aren’t they?

…Clearly we are dog people, in case you couldn’t tell. Our love for dogs extends beyond our own – we love getting the chance to meet with some of our favorite Disney Dogs too!

Pluto Dog

Mickey’s best pal Pluto is always good for a hug

Goofy Dog

Goofy always makes me smile!

Doug Up

Next up on the Disney Dog list would be to get to meet Doug from UP! Maybe I can ask him if he likes squirrels..hmm…

Happy Birthday to my girl Mollie, and Happy Friday to all! TGIF!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Feeling That (Disney) Love In The Air!

  Vday MM

Happy Valentine’s Day To One And All! To many this may be an annoying day full of overpriced flowers and pink hearts, but I personally have always loved Valentine’s Day – a day to express your love, or to reveal a new love, or to rekindle with an old love!

For all you Valentine’s Day cynics out there, might I suggest a Disney movie or two to help remind you how grand love is?

Vday ARiel

Who didn’t cry for joy when Ariel finally got to kiss Eric?

Vday Lion

Who didn’t tear up at this scene from the Lion King while “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” swelled in the background?

Vday Walle

Robots have feelings too – Wall-E reminded us of that!

UP

Oh Lord the first 15 minutes of this movie had me in tears, and I love the overall message about fulfilling your dreams

Vday Cindy

And my personal favorite Disney movie of all time – Cinderella – which proves that a great pair of shoes really CAN chance your life

Hope these were a nice little reminder of just how powerful love can be!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney Tattoos – Part Two!

Last Year I wrote about the ultimate Disney Fan devotion symbol – the Disney Tattoo – as I had recently joined the ranks as a Disney super fan with my own Disney Tattoo.

Since then, I have been checking out tons of other Disney Tattoos, partly for fun, and also partly as research, as I want to expand mine to include a castle, more stars, and maybe even some fireworks

CastleTattooFireworks

I like the style of this castle, and the fireworks, and I am thinking I can work some stars in there too…hmm…

WereAllmadhere1

The other thing I want to get is the “We’re All Mad Here” Quote from Alice In Wonderland –I have always loved the animated movie, and the Tim Burton version is one of my favorites too. I love the simple style of the tattoo picture, but the spade shape is great too – just need to think about where to put it…so much to think about!

In my research, I saw TONS of other amazing tattoos:

NeverGrowUpTattoo

Peter Pan is an amazing movie, and what a great message too

TattoosOhana

“Ohana” is a pretty common one I came across, and the “Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind, or forgotten” quote from Lilo And Stitch always brought a tear to my eye – and what a cute thing this would be to get with a sibling

Snow White Tattoo

I love this silhouette of Snow White, and the splash of red with the apple is a great touch too

UP Tattoo

The movie “Up” and it’s message about true love is really cute, and I love the placement of this tattoo!

What about you – are you brave enough to face the needle and get a permanent reminder of your Disney love?
