My husband and I have been talking for a while now about the best time to bring our son to experience the Magic of Walt Disney World for the first time – and I think we finally landed on Fall 2018 – he will just have turned 4, which is when I went for the first time. To say I am excited is an understatement – not only is a vacation must needed, it’s MUCH wanted too! It’s been a while since I have been to Disney – and while I have been keeping up on the goings-on and such, I know that there will be some BIG changes in store for me – and here are the two I am most excited about:
Star Wars Land – this is the largest ever single-themed land expansion to ever break ground at the Disney Parks, and the opening technically isn’t set to be until sometime in 2019, but I personally am keeping my fingers crossed for an early soft opening, or perhaps portions of it opening up before that so we can check it out while we are there! It will be a totally immersive experience, and you can even have the chance to step aboard the Millennium Falcon and pilot it – eek! How awesome!
Pandora – World of Avatar – This land is slated to open later this month at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and it celebrated the “Magic Of Nature” – with a journey through the rainforest, and much more!
I can’t wait to check these both out – and to experience everything else Disney has to offer – both new and classic!

Not many kids really countdown to the start of a new school year – and why would they? It signals the end of carefree sunny days spent outside playing, and the start of another year of books, assignments, and routine. There are some ways to get kids excited though – and I personally am a big fan of using a little bribery to make things go smoothly – bribery in Disney form perhaps? Why not outfit your kids with some awesome Disney school supplies that will make going back to school way more fashionable:
How about an adorable snack box you can fill with treats to tide them over between school and soccer?
Heck, I am not going back to school but even I want this awesome stationary kit featuring the ultimate villian himself – Darth Vader
Maybe your little princess needs a royally styled backpack to make going back to school more bearable
I don’t know where you are, but here in Upstate NY the fall mornings can get a bit crisp – so keep them warm with a personalizable hoodie featuring their favorite character
Check out the Disney Store’s full Back to School collection here, and check out your local Wal-Mart/Target/grocery store for plenty of other Disney themed clothes, folders, pens, pencils and much more to get them into that “back to school” spirit!

It’s almost fall, which means the candy, décor and costumes are out in stores and have got me thinking about how to celebrate Halloween! There’s always pumpkin carving of course, and while I do love the classic triangle eyes and nose with the two-tooth smile, why not branch out and try something different this year? There are plenty of Disney choices to pick from when it comes time to slice and dice up your Jack-O-Lantern:
A classic Mickey perhaps?
Or you can always go with your favorite Muppet
Or perhaps something more on the “Dark Side” for you? Find Instructions and Star Wars Patterns here
Check out more Disney pumpkin templates here, and if you want, you can also buy books of these and similar Disney/Star Wars patterns at Target, or Wal-Mart

Now that Disney owns the rights to Star Wars and Lucas Film, they are making a 7th movie, and many are wondering if they are planning to do even more with Star Wars – like possibly build a whole Land themed after the legendary films?
In an online survey that was sent in late March to Disney Annual Passholders and other Disney enthusiasts, one of the questions read “How interested would you be in visiting a Star Wars themed land at the Disneyland Resort?”
Unfortunately that’s as far as the news has gone so far – we can only speculate at this time what they might do with the results from that survey, but hopefully people are in favor of the idea, and I know that personally my husband and I would be ALL FOR IT – we love Star Tours, and a Star Wars Land would be a perfect addition to Disneyland (and maybe someday Disney World in Florida too? One can dream….)

Walt Disney World is a great place for those of all ages to visit – and while you’re there, you might as well dress the part, right?
Check out some of these great T-shirts available in WDW:
We found this one in the gift shop outside of the Star Tours ride (one of my husband’s favorites!)
As a huge Winnie The Pooh fan, this one made me laugh!
Or you could go for a more classic look…
Yes, that is four adults wearing matching T-Shirts, and no, we don’t care how silly that might look 🙂
Or there’s the Christmas version of a classic Mickey T (which we will be able to reuse on our Disney trip this Christmas!)
Aren’t these ones adorable? I hope they have them on our next trip, as these are perfect for my husband and I!
Check out the apparal available online from the Disney Store and get yourself all dressed and ready for your next WDW trip!

Location – Star Tours is located in Disney’s Hollowood Studios Theme Park, and you really can’t miss it – just look for the giant AT-AT and you’ll have found this Star Wars themed simulator ride
What it’s Like – Take a journey to a galaxy far far away as you board this flight/motion simulator. The vehicle may not physically be moving along a track, but the technology and special effects definitely make you feel like you are sprinting at light speed as you try and escape from Darth Vader and make it back home safely! The ride itself looks pretty much like a movie theater, only smaller, and with seat belts. You strap in, and blast off into space! There are over 50 different versions of the ride, so chances are good you will get a different experience each time you board the space vehicle
Why I Love It – Truth be told, this is really not one of MY favorites – its really my husband who loves this one. He loves that it really follows the movies, and that it’s creative and immersive – you really feel like you’re a part of the ride. I definitely agree with him, this ride is a LOT of fun, which is why I don’t mind riding it a few times in a row! Oh, and they recently redid the ride last year, and it’s now in 3D, which means better, more realistic effects, and it also means super awesome 3D glasses!
