T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – The Mine Train Is (Finally!) Officially Open!

May 28th marked the first official day that WDW’s newest ride – the Seven Dwarves Mine Train – was open to the public! I previously wrote about the ride’s construction and the various “soft openings” that have been happening over the past few weeks and months, but now it’s time to take a look at the real thing!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Opens Up In New Fantasyland

Disney has been working hard on the Fantasyland Expansion for quite some time now, but it seems that the end is finally in sight! One of the final pieces of the puzzle in the works is the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Roller Coaster – which is set to open this Spring!

This “family coaster” experience takes you through the mines where you can visit Snow White’s Seven Dwarfs hard at work! The queue for the ride will be interactive, and the combination of “dark” parts and thrill ride is perfect for those of all ages!

Here’s an idea of some of the work that has gone into creating the ride:

More news to come as we learn when it will officially open to the public – at this point there has been testing and “soft openings” (aka allowing limited numbers of guests to experience the attractions), but no grand opening yet. Stay tuned!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – The Beast Invites You To “Try The Grey Stuff, It’s Delicious!”

Disney has put a lot of time and effort into the New Fantasyland refurbishment that has recently opened – and I must say, it was worth it! They did an amazing job creating new attractions and restaurants that come together in a way that really enriches the Guest experience

NewFantasyland

One of the most highly anticipated parts of this expansion has been the new Be Our Guest Restaurant – partly because it is the first ever restaurant in the Magic Kingdom to serve alcohol, but also because it is bringing us new cuisine in an amazing new setting – the Beast’s Castle!

Dine in one of three rooms within the Castle, all of which feature beautiful details and artwork – and check out the Enchanted Rose in the spooky West Wing!

Lunch is served as a counter service meal, meaning you wait in line and order your food from choices like a croque-monsieur sandiwch or salads and quiche

LunchMenu

Dinner is a sit down meal, featuring roasted meats and fish, as well as a healthy kids menu

As for the Grey Stuff – it’s actually a delicious cookies and cream flavored mousse, and what a cute and delicious way to end your meal here!

2012 – A BIG Year For Disney!

BeOurGuest2

I was browsing the Disney Parks Blog and came across this interesting post, talking about the Top 5 Entertainment Changes At the Disney Parks in 2012.

So what was Disney up to in 2012? Well here are a few things that kept them pretty busy….

1. Launch of the Disney Fantasy – The Disney Cruise Line added another majestic ship to it’s fleet, full of family friendly fun entertainment options!

2. Disneyland Paris Celebrates 20 Amazing Years – And what better way to celebrate than with a new parade and fireworks show! Disney often changes up their parades and nighttime shows, which always keeps guests coming back for more! I hope to someday make it to this Park, maybe as a 10th anniversary celebration? Mickey plus the most romantic city in the world definitely sounds like a winner to me!

3. Disney California Adventure Gets an Overhaul – This California Themed Park got a facelift this year, plus they added Cars Land, dedicated to the Disney Pixar movies. I am planning a trip to Disneyland in 2014, and can’t WAIT to see all the new entertainment options available, plus there is nothing quite like visiting Disneyland (since it IS the Park where it all started!)

4. Unveiling of the New Fantasyland – Walt Disney World went through some major changes, adding a whole new Fantasyland which includes new restaurant, ride, and entertainment options. including a circus themed area where you can take a ride with Dumbo, and the addition of the Beast’s Castle and “Be Our Guest” restaurant. I was lucky enough to visit Disney in April, and I was able to experience parts of the New Fantasyland, including the new Dumbo ride, and I really love what they have done and can’t wait to see the finished product next year!

5. New Faces To Meet and Greet – One thing is for sure, everyone loves characters, no matter how old you are, meeting your favorite Disney character is always a thrill. 2012 saw the addition of a new Disney movie, Brave, as well as a new leading lady, Merida who visits the Parks to interact with guests. Tinkerbell’s sister Periwinkle, and Ralph and Vanellope from “Wreck it Ralph” also made their Park debut this year

Disney is always looking for new and interesting ways to entertain and entrance us, and I can’t wait to see what Disney has in store for us for 2013 – new restaturants? Characters? A Carsland in Walt Disney World? So many possibilities, so little time!
