T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – My Babe Turns TWO!

WARNING: Parental gushing ahead….You’ve been warned…

Tomorrow my baby boy turns TWO – it is insane – I can’t believe he is two and that the last two years have gone by as quickly as they have. He is quite the little man – funny, always smiling, always in motion, and loves hugs, cheese, and of course Mickey Mouse!

Today’s pic of the week is in honor of the birthday boy – tomorrow we will celebrate his life and the past year with our family and friends – and I can’t wait to party, and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings too!

I can’t help but feel like the luckiest woman in the world as I write this – what a guy he is, and I am just so grateful to be his mom

TGIF – and Happy 2nd Birthday to my favorite little man!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Unique Disney Car Decals

Bumper stickers have always been a way to show your political preferences, or to warn people to back off of your back end – but they really are so much more than that! They can showcase your travels, your family, your likes and hobbies, and of COURSE – they can let the world know that a DISNEY LOVER is behind the wheel!

car 2
If you’re in the market for a Disney-themed bumper sticker or decal, you could always go with the classic Mickey peeking out
car 3
Or the “WDW” letters that let people know your preferred travel destination (I have this one on my car!)
Car1
You can show exactly how many Disney lovers you have in your family

Car 4….or you can go a bit more eclectic with multiple Disney-themed stickers (I especially love the Haunted Mansion ones!)

?

So, admittedly, the inspiration for this post was a bit selfish – as I just got this new decal and wanted to show it off – I had it custom made, and I seriously love it – it’s simple and yet SO TRUE – because as us hardcore Disney fans know – Disney World really DOES feel like home
As for how to Disney-fy your car – you can buy some auto accessories Online, and they sell plenty more in the Parks. Or you can check out Etsy for places that will customize them for you too!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – WDW Then And Now

old1

I love looking back at old photos from all the Disney trips I took as a kid – it’s fun to see what everyone wore back then, and it’s cool to see how WDW has changed and evolved through the photos too – check out these Disney “Then and Now” photos:

Thenandnow1 thenandnow2

Since opening back in 1971, Disney has added a TON of stuff – it used to just be the Magic Kingdom, and there were still rides under construction on opening day! Fast forward 45 years, and you’ve got 3 more Theme Parks, numerous Resort Hotels, 2 Water Parks, and a shopping/dining/entertainment district. The differences in the maps show just how much Disney World has grown

They may have jazzed the parades up a bit over the years – with some help from technology! But the thrill of the parade is still the same – getting to see amazingly creative floats, and the chance to spot your favorite characters, too!

Even the Mouse himself has gotten a few “facelifts” over the years – but that iconic silhouette remains the same, and is one of the most recognizable symbols on the planet – even my toddler knows what it is and can spot it from a distance

Magic Bands

“Back In The Day” you actually needed two tickets to get into Walt Disney World – one for the transportation system, and one to allow entry into the Magic Kingdom. Once inside, you could purchase tickets for rides/attractions individually or in booklets (which saved you a bit of money). Things today are a bit more streamlined – as there is just one cost to enter the park, and that includes all of the Park’s rides/attractions, and when you purchase the ticket, all the information is stored either on a credit card-like plastic ticket, or on your Magic Band – which is basically a bracelet with an RFID chip inside that stores all the information, and the ticket/band is then scanned for entry at the Park gates

I love learning more about the history of WDW, and I can’t wait to see how things change and get even better in the years to come!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Top 3 Disney Things I Can’t WAIT To Share

zombomeme03052016123003

I cannot WAIT to take my little guy to Disney World – and speaking of waits – this one is KILLING me! We originally wanted to wait until he turns 4 to take him, but I seriously cannot last that long – so I am attempting to convince my husband that we should go when he turns 3. Does this mean diapers? Probably. Does it mean renting/bringing a stroller? Probably….which is seriously one of my pet peeves. But the bottom line is – I want him to experience all the amazing things WDW has to offer, and to start making his own Disney memories! What am I most excited to share with him? Well, everything of course – but there are 3 things that stand out:

MainStreetCastle

The Castle – There are few things quite like this view down Main Street USA, when you’re standing right by the entrance and can see Cinderella’s Castle off in the distance…makes me tear up every time (yeah, I’m a nostalgic weirdo, it’s cool – I own that about myself)

DSCN2746

The MOUSE – I cannot wait to see what he thinks of Mickey! Of course there’s the possibility that he will scream, cry, and refuse to get near him, but I personally think he will be more curious than anything – he will want to touch his nose and pat his head, for sure. No matter how it turns out, it will be a memorable moment, for sure!

Mickeybar

His First Mickey Bar – He loves ice cream, and he REALLY enjoys making a mess – so this is the perfect treat for him! Seriously though, it’s like a rite of passage – having a Mickey Bar while watching the parade make its way down Main Street is a must-do, and I will be there to capture the moment on camera (and will have a packet of wipes on standby for the aftermath too…). I am sure he will love them just as much (if not more!) than his dad does (his smile says it all, doesn’t it?)

I am hoping to get to share these (and many more!) Disney moments with my son next fall – but I might have to exercise patience and wait another year…either way, it will be the first of many amazing family trips to the Happiest Place On Earth!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – What Do You Get A 2 Year Old Disney Fan For His/Her Birthday?

My best friend’s darling little girl will be celebrating her 2nd birthday soon – and when I was thinking about what to get her, I knew it had to be something Disney-esque – because what 2 year old doesn’t love everything Disney?

    2bday pillow

I actually ordered this exact pillow for her – what little one wouldn’t want to cuddle up to Minnie (or Mickey, which I bought for my son) every night?

2bday book

Books are always a good idea, especially if you know the little guy or gal you’re buying for already has a lot of toys

2bday bed

If your little one is ready to move up from crib life, then why not order them a Disney toddler bed? Reasonably priced, and a great next step to becoming a “big kid”

2bday keyboard

I actually just ordered this for my son – and he loves it! The keys light up, and Mickey talks to them, too. Instrument gifts are great at this age – they love seeing what happens or what noises they can make by pressing various buttons2bday storage

Another idea for the kid who has a LOT of toys already – Disney-themed storage will not only help contain the clutter, but it will also help teach them the valuable lesson of cleaning up

Hopefully you find these ideas helpful – as I know it can be hard to shop for little ones who seemingly have it all already!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney – As Modeled By The World’s Cutest Baby (Part 2)

As promised, here are some more pictures of my little man sporting some awesome Disney threads:

dclothes2 1

That smile – melts me every time

dclothes2 2

Mickey footie Pj’s are a must on cold winter nights

dclothes2 3

Visiting the Easter Bunny in his “Sunday Best” – which includes a Mickey tie, and an adorable dress shirt and suspenders with mouse flair, too

dclothes2 4

Ok, so technically he isn’t modeling any Disney clothes in this one – but he just loves playing with his stuffed Mickeys and friends when he visits my parents (most of them were mine, which technically makes them “vintage” – and which also makes me OLD!)

Dclothes2 5

Nothing like a little Monsters Inc onesie action (and a cuddle from dad is pretty good too!)

Dclothes2 6

Eating Mickey while wearing Mickey

Dclothes2 7

Normally I wouldn’t buy “seasonal” clothes as they can only wear them for a few weeks (if that!) but I just couldn’t say no to these Disney Christmas Pajamas

dclothes2 8

Not sure about his first set of Mickey Ears…

dclothes2 9

Apparently he also isn’t sure about this Mickey hoodie since he’s trying to remove it – but at least he is smiling?

The great part about Disney clothes for little ones is – all of it stuff is easy to get – most of the outfits were gifts, and places Wal-Mart, Target, online (amazon, Disneystore.com, etc) have a great selection to choose from

Even though I won’t be taking him to Walt Disney World for a few years, I like that I can still introduce him to all things Disney – including the clothes!
