T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – #AllTheHats

One of the best parts about Walt Disney World is all the amazing stuff they have for sale there – the souvenir shops are everywhere, and they sell all kinds of things – one of my favorite things to browse (and take selfies in!) is the selection of hats – specifically Mickey Ear Hats!

DSC01200

This picture dates way back to 2007 – when I visited Disneyland, and discovered they still made this relic from my childhood – I begged my parents for one of these when I was 4, and they finally caved and bought it for me – it was so heavy that it weighed my head down as I fell asleep on the monorail after a long day of Park fun. **Side note – they are now MUCH lighter and wearer-friendly

What can I say, I love trying on hats! From the classic Minnie sequins, to the wild Animal prints – they really have a style for everyone – and I can’t wait to check out the what they have when I head there this fall!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week Post – That Kid’s Smile…

This week’s picture selection comes straight from my crazy toddler – who makes me laugh every day with his silliness. On Halloween I got out my Minnie Mouse ears to wear while we brought him trick or treating (his first time!) so that I at least wouldn’t be totally without costume, but my son had other ideas for them…

I am pretty sure there is no cuter Minnie Mouse ever in the history of the world, am I right?

Stay tuned next week for what’s on this kids (and MY) Disney Christmas wish lists (since Halloween is over that means it’s basically Christmas, right?)

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – My Husband Is Going To Disney Without ME!!!!!

It’s true. My husband is going to the Happiest Place on Earth without me – his Disney loving wife. Granted, it’s for a work conference, and he will only get to really spend 1 night in the Parks, but STILL – I am so jealous I could die.

I wanted to try and go with him – and we had even thought about me bringing our son along and meeting up with him after the conference is over and staying a few extra days at WDW – but the cost of that, coupled with the logistics of bringing an infant, AND the fact that my vacation balance is precariously low…all of it adds up to him flying solo on this trip – and me crying at home…alone. Well – ok, I probably won’t actually CRY – but it will be lonely for sure!

The one bright spot in all of this is that he will be able to fulfill my running list of Disney Souvenirs! Shopping is not his favorite thing to do, but he has kindly agreed to grab a few things for me. Here’s what’s currently on that list:

ears

This is the number one must have item on my list – Mickey ears for my baby boy – with his name embroidered on them of course! Classic, iconic, and adorable

Mug

I’m a huge Alice in Wonderland fan – and so I just have to have this mug, on the back it says “We’re all mad here” (one of my favorite quotes – I love it so much I even have it tattooed on my shoulder!). Do I need more mugs? NO. Will I still get this one? HECK YES!

Ornament

We always get an ornament when we make a trip to Disney, and I especially love ones I can put a trip picture in. I also prefer ones that are not glass or round (easier to transport that way!) – so something like this would be perfect! I won’t have a trip pic to put in it, but I can always put a family pic in it instead!

Jenga

There’s a TON of new amazing Tower of Terror merchandise at the Disney Parks – which is great because I LOVE the ride, plus I remember when it opened – and my parents and I would wait over 2 hours to ride it – worth every minute, as the theming is amazing all the way through the queue. I love games, especially Disney themed ones – so this Hollywood Tower Hotel Jenga would be an awesome souvenir

PillowPal

And while I can pretend this one is for our son – it’s really more for me. Because who WOULDN’T want to cuddle a giant Mickey pillow every night?!

So while I am hating that I won’t get to go with my husband to Walt Disney World, I am comforted by the fact that he will be bringing a few little pieces of WDW back to me! What about you – what’s on YOUR Disney souvenir list?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – The Disney Things I Miss The Most

Time between vacations can seem like an ETERNITY – and this is ESPECIALLY true for time between Disney trips (because Disney World is the best place EVER to take a vacation, obviously!). Since my son was born, we have talked about taking him to WDW when he is younger but we will likely wait until he is about 4 – which is QUITE a ways away at this point, and I gotta say, there are some Disney things I am missing a LOT right now:

Waffle

Mickey shaped foods just taste better. It’s a tested, tried and true fact – and if you don’t believe me, then you might want to check out some Mickey foods for yourself – like maybe a Mickey Waffle?

MeBags

Shopping. Don’t judge me. I like to shop, and I like to shop at Disney World especially – checking out all the stores and seeing what new merchandise they have, and narrowing it down to see what the few things are I will bring home with me – it’s a ritual, and one that I love

MainStreetCastle

This view of Main Street USA – It’s my fave place in the whole world, and I can’t wait to be back here again!

Selfie

Wearing Mickey ears at work or out at the mall or the park is apparently not normal (ugh) – but wearing them at Disney is the norm, and I miss seeing heads upon heads of Mickey everywhere I look

Most of all, I just miss the feeling I get when I am at Disney – that happiness that I have come HOME. I can’t wait to get back!
