T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week: My Top Picks For Disney Halloween Costumes

Halloween is coming up! Ok – maybe it’s still a month away, but hey – tomorrow will be October, and that means all things spooky and scary (including scary movies on TV like 24/7 which is a DREAM come true for me!), and it also means it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to be for Halloween! As a HUGE Disney fanatic, my first thoughts obviously go to some of my favorite Disney characters. And in doing my “research” (aka scrolling through google/pinterest/Disney facebook forums), I came across some people who are legit killing it and are so on top of their costume game it’s downright SCARY! Check out my picks for top Disney Halloween Costumes:

costumes-ursula

Best DIY – This is dedication – I mean really – putting purple makeup all over yourself cannot be an easy or fast process – but it’s worth it for the end result of this amazing Ursula getup

costumes-couple

Best Couples Costume – Ok so Mickey and Minnie would be the obvious choice here, which is probably why I love this so much – you don’t see many Donald (or Daisy!) costumes, and I love that they went for the DIY on this, too!

costumes-baby

Cutest Disney Babe – I know my toddler would hate me for this (don’t worry I won’t be subjecting him to this!) – as I am sure it’s thick, uncomfortable, and hot as heck with that giant hood piece – but could it be any cuter? I mean really, a baby Fozzy costume – wokka wokka!!

costumes-funniest

Funniest – If you’ve been to Walt Disney World then you might have seen these cards – they hand them out randomly as you enter a ride queue, and they help determine the wait time for the ride. I know I always feel so special when I get chosen to carry one, and so when I stumbled across this costume I just had to share it (hey, it made me laugh!)

costume-store-bought

Best Store-Bought – For me it just doesn’t get any cuter than a little girl dressed as a Disney Princess – and the Disney Store as well as costume stores like Party City sell some super cute princess frocks (and accessories too!)

So what will it be for you – a classic Mickey, or another of your favorite Disney characters? I would love to know – tell me in the comments! TGIF!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Why Halloween Is The PERFECT Time To Visit WDW

While every day at WDW is sure to be an amazing one, there are certain days/times of the year that are more magical than others. Personally, I LOVE Disney at Christmastime – the decorations, the food, the sounds, the smells – it’s all amazing! BUT – it is also one of the BUSIEST times of the year at the Parks, with crowds so thick that the wait time for Space Mountain is 2.5 hours or more…so understandably, not everyone would jump at the chance to head there in late December.

All things considered, the perfect time of year for visiting WDW is really around Halloween time – the crowds are lighter, the weather cooler, and the décor and atmosphere is just as amazing (if not more so!) than at Christmas! Check out these shots of Halloween at WDW:

Halloween 1

Trick or treat, meet and greet with characters, and enjoy an exclusive parade – all of this and more can be found at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Halloween 3 Halloween 2 Halloween 5

The décor is really amazing at this time of year – they go all out with pumpkins and fall theming everywhere!

Halloween 9 Halloween 8 Halloween 6 Halloween 7

And what would a Halloween celebration be without themed treats? Decorated and delicious – these will delight those of all ages (not to mention make me drool all over my keyboard…)

I can’t WAIT to bring my son to experience Halloween at Walt Disney World – I just know he will find it as amazingly magical as I do!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – The Fall Season Is In Full Bloom At The Disney Parks!

Fall is – in my humble opinion – the very best season of all! Apple and pumpkin everything, cool air, changing leaves, sweaters – I love it all. And although autumn may not officially begin for a few days (9/22 to be exact!) – the season is definitely in the air everywhere – here in upstate NY you can see it in the apple orchards and feel it in the crisp air, and in Walt Disney World, you can see it everywhere you look!

…And of course with fall comes Halloween – which Disney is already fully prepared for, since they are already in the midst of their Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party celebrations! Whether or not you get to celebrate fall or Halloween at Disney, I hope you get to enjoy the season as much as I do!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – FALL IS COMING!

Ok, yes – it’s still August, its still hot and there are still picnics to be had and beaches to visit – but the stores are brimming with fall and Halloween merchandise – and I am as ready for fall as can be! It’s the absolute BEST SEASON OF ALL – apple picking every weekend, pumpkin flavored everything, crisp cool air (aka no more stifling heat yay!) – I love it all!

One thing I look forward to someday being able to do is to visit Walt Disney World in the fall – specifically so I can check out all the awesome décor and also attend Mickeys Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Check out all that the autumn season brings at WDW:

Plenty of pumpkins, fall colors, treats and more! I hope to someday bring my son to Disney during the fall so we can enjoy everything WDW has to offer during my favorite time of year!

So enjoy the rest of your summer – and if you’re mourning the end of summer, fear not – as the BEST SEASON ever is just around the corner!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Enjoy Some “Not So Scary” Halloween Fun At WDW!

Halloween time is upon us! And that means pumpkins, candy, costumes, scary movies, and spooks all around! But don’t worry – if being spooked isn’t your thing, Disney has you covered – with their annual Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, an event hosted multiple nights throughout October in the Magic Kingdom – where kids (and adults!) can dress up, trick or treat, and enjoy an exclusive parade and character meet and greets.

Here are some images from this years party:

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney DIY

There is so much anticipation and excitement that lead up to a Walt Disney World vacation, and once you are there it’s amazing, and fun, and exhilirating. But once it’s over, there is definitely a bit of a let down, because not only is your vacation over, but you have to leave the Happiest Place On Earth!

So how can you beat the post-Disney blues? By bringing some of the magic of Disney into your own home, of course! There are TONS of Disney DIY projects you can do that are easy, fun, and great ways to remind you of just how special Disney is!

Pin-Shadow-Box For those of you who are into Disney Pin Collecting, here’s a great way to display those pins – here are the step by step instructions on how to create this great Disney Pin display case

MickeyCookiesBake up some Disney fun with a Mickey Cookie cutter and these Chocolate Sugar Cookies – my man made them for me as a surprise, and let me tell you – it doesn’t get more delicious or cute than Mickey shaped cookies!

delicious_disney_coverThere are a few different Disney Cookbooks out there that feature recipes from the various Parks and Restaurants on Disney Property, and it’s a great way to recreate that delicious meal you had on vacation. Personally, I have this Delicious Disney book and love the graphics and recipes

GiantMickeyPumpkinDisney loves the holidays, and so do I! I love them so much I did a recreation of this giant Mickey pumpkin last year for Halloween using one big and two little pumpkins – it was actually really easy, and Mickey’s smiling face might not have been spooky, but it certainly was a great holiday addition

There are plenty of things you can do with your vacation photos too – from collages to decoupage to scrapbooks and albums – picture gifts and crafts are my personal fave, they’re the best way to relive the greatest vacation moments!
