T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Coffee Tastes Better In A Disney Mug (It’s True…)

I am a big fan of coffee in the mornings (or afternoons, or anytime really!), and love tea and hot cocoa too – anything I can sip out of a big mug is a winner in my book – especially on a cold winter day here in Upstate NY! And why drink from a regular mug when I can drink out of a DISNEY mug?

Because every princess needs a Disney Princess mug, right?

Love my “We’re All Mad Here” Alice In Wonderland Mug

This little guy is a lot of fun, and makes me extra grateful for the existence of coffee!

This vintage mason jar mug is amazing – takes me back to the days of childhood camping trips at Fort Wilderness!

TGIF – and here’s to staying warm with a nice hot beverage this winter!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Why I Love Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

When you’re trying to decide where to stay at Walt Disney World, the choices can become overwhelming – they have so many great Resorts to choose from that it can be tough to narrow it down! Personally, I love Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground – and here’s why:

FW sign

FW Pool

FW site

It’s a beautiful place – large, well-kept campsites, great pools, tons of wooded trails, and maybe best of all it’s quiet and peaceful – it’s a great place to relax and enjoy nature, and best of all you’re in the middle of all the Disney action!

FW movie

The nightly fireside sing sing along and movie is a great family activity – and oh – did I mention it’s hosted by Chip and Dale? I LOVED this as a kid – getting snacks and singing songs and then watching a Disney movie – doesn’t get any better than that!

FW TE 2

Fresh nature air makes me hungry – so I like to head over to Trail’s End – the on-site restaurant that serves up a delicious buffet of items like fried chicken and biscuits (there’s a lot more than that, but those are my favorites and they still make me drool to this day!)

FW Cabin

If you’re not sure about the whole camping/”roughing it” thing – don’t worry, Disney’s got you covered – you can stay in one of their cabins which include electricity, a TV, a bathroom, and a kitchen (utensils/cookware included!) – so you can still stay in nature, but with all the comforts of home

We stayed at Fort Wilderness a bunch of times when I was younger – I loved everything about it, and can’t wait to go back with my son when he’s older. It’s a great Resort choice for those who don’t want to stay in a traditional “hotel” room, plus you can’t beat the scenery!

TGIF!

Try Something Different At WDW

Boat Rental

Walt Disney World is known for its Theme Parks and rides, and they are some of the best in the world, as Disney really strives to create an immersive guest experience, and they 100% succeed at that (in my humble opinion!)

But, Theme Parks and rides aren’t for everyone, and for those who are headed to WDW and are looking for something unique and different to occupy your time, here are some things you can try:

-Rent a Boat – WDW offers motorboats, jetskis, and canoes/paddle boats for rental, and it’s a great way to get to see more of Disney

-Fishing – You can book fishing excursions where you go out with a guide and spend a morning catching some large and small mouth bass (you don’t get to keep what you catch, unfortunately, but its still a fun time!)

-Bike Rides – Bike rentals are available at several resorts, and there are lots of trails to explore all around the resorts

-Horseback Riding – at Disney’s Fort Wilderness you can take lessons and go riding through their long nature trails (it’s so peaceful there you may even forget you’re at Disney World!)

-Spa Treatments – WDW offers 2 world class spas where you can relax in a serene setting while you get a massage, facial, and manicure

-Golf – there are several amazing golf courses at Disney, and you can event take lessons from their pros

-Shopping – Stores are everywhere at WDW, for those hardcore shoppers I recommend you head over to Downtown Disney, where you will find everything for sale from toys to Harleys!

-Swimming – All WDW Resorts have pools, and there are also water parks that are the perfect place to cool off on a hot day

-Try Some New Cuisine – WDW is known for it’s amazing food, and there are plenty of restaurants options out there that offer all kinds of food, so it’s a great place to be advanturous and try something new (like African or Moroccan food!)

Disney offers all this and much, much more – check out their website to find out what they have in store for you!

Old Disney Memories Help Us Look Forward To New Ones

I am in the home stretch, a mere 4 days away from my Walt Disney World Vacation! I should be jumping for joy! Instead, I am home sick in bed with a fever and stomach virus. Luckily, today I am feeling slightly better than yesterday, enough so that my mind has wandered to the fun and good times I am going to have on vacation!

I have been going to Walt Disney World since I was a kid, and I have so many amazing memories from these times, and that is part of the reason why I keep going back, is to be able to make new even better memories with my family and my husband!

I dug up some old photos, and was reminiscing about all the fun times I have had over the years at Walt Disney World

From dining with Goofy to fun times camping at Disney’s Fort Wilderness

To meet and greets with some famous Disney characters

To reliving old memories – the photo of me when I was younger was taken when we stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort back when I was about 8, and then this past Christmas when my husband and I stayed there, we took these pictures, and when I found the old one, I laughed at how I had posed in the same place, almost 20 years apart.
No matter how old you are, it’s never too late to start making some Disney memories, and I can’t wait to make some more this weekend with my family!
