T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – “Finding Dory” Breaks The Box Office!

    Dory

The MUCH anticipated sequel to Disney Pixar’s Finding Nemo opened last weekend at the box office – and grossed over $136 million dollars just last weekend, which makes it the highest-grossing animated debut of all time! Pretty impressive – but definitely not surprising to me, as I have been waiting 13 years for more undersea adventures with Dory!

Haven’t seen it yet? Here’s a sneak peak of just some of the fun you’re in for:

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Headed To The Beach!

I may not have any Disney trips planned in the near future, but my family is going to be taking our first ever “family vacation” to Cape Cod this September! We will be renting a house and just relaxing and hopefully spending a TON of time on the BEACH – I can’t wait to see my son play in the sand and let him touch his feet in the ocean!

And of course – one cannot head to the beach without the proper DISNEY attire….

Beach Towel1 Beach towel2

I ordered these personalized beach towels for my son and my best friend’s daughter – because everyone needs their own beach towel (I almost ordered one for myself and now looking back am not sure why I didn’t…hmm)

BEach Rashguard

Better protect my little guy from the sun with one of these rash guard shirts – featuring Mickey Mouse!

Beach Nemo

Or perhaps something from the Finding Nemo swim collection would suit your little one?

Beach Ariel

Once you have the beach towel, it’s hard not to go all out with the matching swimsuit, bag, sandals, and sunglasses (don’t worry, it’s ok if you do – I don’t judge!)

Check out the Disney Store’s Swim Shop for more awesome summer looks!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Warm Up With A Smile With These Disney Mugs!

WILL THIS COLD NEVER END!!! I would give anything to be at Disney World right now – not only because it’s the happiest place on earth, but because it’s a heck of a lot warmer than Upstate New York this time of year! Alas, I am stuck here, so to cheer myself up, I think I will grab a warm beverage (coffee if it’s the morning time, or cocoa in the evening perhaps?) in a DISNEY MUG:

 Mugs Pixar

Could these Pixar mugs be any cuter? I especially love Nemo

Mugs DIsney Store 1

Find these and other drinkware at the Disney Store’s website

Mugs PrincessMug

I kick myself for not buying this – look at how big it is, I could really use that to wrap my hands around right about now!

COASTER finished

I did buy this one though – I love the vintage collage-y feel to it! Oh – and if you want to make your own Disney coasters like the ones pictured, then check out the DIY here

You can buy Disney branded coffee and tea at the Disney Parks – I always pick some up (and then am always wishing I had gotten more when I run out!), and they really are the perfect treat to enjoy in your favorite Disney mug. Just keep on sipping and hoping for spring…

Frozen – I don’t Get It. Still.

Frozen

I have written about how I gave the movie Frozen two chances – I watched it twice and I will admit I definitely appreciated it more the second time – HOWEVER – I will also admit – I still do NOT understand Frozen. The popularity/hype/intensity – people are seriously obsessed with this movie – and it’s not just kids either – adults are jumping on the bandwagon too!

Waiting 5 hours to meet Anna and Elsa at the Disney Parks. A New Frozen ride at Disney. Thousands of parodies of “Let It Go” on YouTube. “Sexy” Frozen Halloween Costumes (yeah, that’s really a thing), the MOST INSANE amount of merchandising I have ever seen for a single movie in my whole life…it all seems…excessive, and I fear I may stand alone on this one – but I just don’t get it.

Now – don’t get me wrong, I love a good Disney movie – but in my book – Frozen barely qualifies as a “good” movie – I mean, it’s cute, the songs are great, the characters are somewhat amusing – but overall – mediocre at best. It certainly can’t hold a flame to Cinderella (my absolute fave!), or Toy Story, or Finding Nemo…I could go on (but I won’t). I am glad that Disney is getting so much mileage out of Frozen, and that it was such a hit for them – but really? I’m over it. I am sorry if this offends you….and if it does then maybe you should learn to “Let It Go” (ha!), Seriously though – Disney – can we move on to something bigger and better? Please? I would appreciate it – and I can’t be alone in thinking that way…right?

Landscape Of Flavors Offers Delicious Fresh Menu Options For All!

My family and I were lucky enough to get to travel to Walt Disney World last month for Christmas, and even luckier still to get to stay in the NEWEST Disney Resort – The Art of Animation Resort. Let me tell you, this place did NOT disappoint, the Little Mermaid/Finding Nemo/Lion King/Cars themes were awesome, the service was great as usual, and probably the best thing about the Resort is its Landscape of Flavors Food Court – which offers up tons of great and unique menu options. Here’s a rundown of what you can expect to find here:

photo 2

Breakfast: Omelete station, pancakes, Mickey Waffles, French toast, make your own yogurt/fruit/granola parfait, breakfast sandwiches (like this “steak” sandwich, and the chicken sausage sandwich!) breakfast platters (both American AND Mongolian!), and tons of bakery and packaged choices (fruits, yogurts, etc)

photo 1

Lunch/Dinner: Create your own salad station (a personal favorite of mine!), Mongolian grill, hamburgers/sandwiches, pizza/pasta (and cheesy pesto bread yum!), plus packaged items like salads, sandwiches, and sushi

photo 3

Desserts: There’s a bakery case that was offering some delicious seasonal options while we were there – sugar free cranberry apple pie, Pecan pumpkin tart, Gingerbread cookies, and then there were also cupcakes and other cookies, and then there’s the gelato station – serving up tons of great flavors (including seasonal ones like peppermint and pumpkin!). Or you can go a bit healthier and have a fruit smoothie whipped up just the way you like it (strawberry/banana/mango comes to mind? Yum!)

Drinks: They offer the standard Coca Cola soda machines (which offer Sprite Zero in addition to Diet Coke and light lemonade, which I was glad to see!), as well as plenty of bottled choices: waters, Gatorade/Vitamin water, smoothies, juices, and a decent selection of beer and wine too (available by the single serving, or full size bottles/six packs are available too!)

Our personal favorites from the Landscape of Flavors? It’s REALLY a tough call, but for me personally it had to be the Pumpkin Pecan Tart (which I got multiple times!) and I know my parents really loved the Cranberry Apple Pie, and my husband loved the Mongolian Sausage plate – which was delicious sausage served with rice, two sides, and fresh naan bread

We will definitely be staying here again, partly (ok, largely!) due to how amazing the food was! I would highly recommend the Resort (and its food!) to anyone and everyone!

T.G.I.F Pic Of The Week – Taking A Dip At WDW

There are tons of amazing things about WDW Resort Hotels, one of them being that they all have pools. And these aren’t just regular boring old pools, they are intricitely themed pools with all the bells and whistles!

Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect when you head over to your WDW Resort Hotel Pool:

TGIF POOL POFQ At Port Orleans French Quarter you can take a slide down a sea serpent’s tongue with King Neptune at the “Doobloon Lagoon” Pool

TGIF POOL POLYAt the Polynesian Resort, this tropical volcano themed pool has underwater music and a water slide

TGIF POOL ARTOFANIMAt Disney’s newest Resort, The Art of Animation, check out “The Big Blue” Pool, themed after Disn’eys Finding Nemo – this pool is huge, and if you listen closely you will hear Dori talking underwater!

TGIF POOL YACHTStormalong Bay is the shared pool area for Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, and it’s basically a mini water park – with a shipwreck waterslide, a lazy river with innner tubes, and the pool even has a sandy bottom!

Oh…and as an added bonus, most of them have a bar close by
