T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Cuddly Stuffed Friends!

I don’t know about you – but when I was a kid, one of my favorite toys was my stuffed animals – I had a pile on my bed, and they were my companions, audience, tea party guests, game opponents…and the list goes on. That love of cuddly stuffed toys has followed me into adulthood – and when I go to Disney, I have to restrain myself from buying all of them…

TGIFDuffy

Me and Duffy – I actually do have one of these guys (and a mini one too!) at home – I love the story about Minnie sewing Duffy for Mickey and Duffy going on all of Mickey’s adventures with him!

TGIFMickeyPlush

Everyone needs at least one Mickey to hug – this classic one is adorable!

TGIFEEyoreplush

It’s hard to say who looks more pathetically gloomy – my husband or Eeyore

TGIFNerdMinnie

I love this little Minnie with glasses – I totally would have bought this when I was a kid!

TGIFHugsie

…he really does smell like strawberries – isn’t that something?

Stuffed animals are great for those of all ages – from infant to toddler to child, to teens and adults too! Disney has them all, in all sizes, and they are all adorable and cuddly! Hmm – maybe next trip I should bring an empty suitcase so I can purchase a few new furry friends…

Celebrating Independence Day – WDW Style

Happy 4th of July to you and your families! Hope everyone has a great holiday, and that you’re able to relax, enjoy some time away from work and celebrate the fact that we live in such a great country!

Should you be lucky enough to be celebrating in Walt Disney World, then you should definitely check out some of these amazing Firework displays, or some of these delicious looking patriotic treats (including a special cupcake – it doesn’t get much more American than a caramel apple cupcake!)

There will also be some patriotic themed souvenirs available in shops around Walt Disney World, including this adorable Uncle Sam themed Duffy!!

However you choose to celebrate I wish you a Happy 4th Of July!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Character Sightings A-Plenty At WDW

As I mentioned in my previous post about Why Character Meals Aren’t Just For Kids, character meet-and-greets can be lots of fun for EVERYONE

When I was a kid, I LOVED meeting characters – this one was taken circa 1994, and this is me and my mom with colonial Mickey, I believe this was taken in Magic Kingdom, and might even have been when the Liberty Tree Tavern was a character meal (which sadly, it is no longer, but it DOES still serve up amazingly delicious turkey dinners!!)

My husband and I discovered that the “Just Married” buttons got us a lot of attention on our honeymoon, but they certainly didn’t stop Minnie from flirting with my man and trying to steal him away!

We were lucky enough to be the last in line to see Tigger and Eeyore on this particular day during our trip last year, and this had to be one of my favorite character encounters – they both gave us big hugs, and it was like I was a kid again!

This April I was able to meet Duffy, which was a real thrill for me, I think he is just the cutest and I love his story, how Minnie made him for Mickey so he wouldn’t be lonely on his trips away from her

So the moral of this story is, don’t be afraid to seek out your favorite character and wait in line or book a meal so you can get the chance to meet them, it’s fun for kids AND adults! Not sure where to find your character of choice? Check out the Disney Entertainment Page, on the left click “character greetings” for more information
