T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Unique Pin Displays That Anyone Can DIY!

    pinlanyard
Disney Pin Trading is a HUGE thing at The Disney Parks and has been for quite a while now. I resisted it for a long time but I finally gave in a few years ago – and I like to think I keep it at a manageable level – I only buy a couple of pins when I go to Disney, and I like to buy ones that actually mean something to me, that spark a great memory when I look back at them.
Pin-Shadow-Box
Speaking of looking back at my pins – I made this awesome Pin Display Case a few years ago so that I can always look back on my favorites that I keep in there. Since then, Pin displays have definitely become “a thing” – and there are plenty of ways to make your own unique version:
Pin display 1
Grab a sheet of corkboard and a cutout of Cinderella’s Castle and boom you have an awesome silhouette display case
Pin disp 2
Create a Mickey head out of foamboard, and use a unique background – like Disney scrapbook paper, or – what a great use for all those Park Maps you end up coming home with, right?
Pin disp 3
Foamboard or cork can be cut to fit any frame – so pick something that matches your style or existing décor to display those pins proudly!
Pin disp 6
Pin disp 5
Cork letters like these can be purchased at your local craft store, and I saw them at Target recently too

And there’s always this style for displaying them when you head to Disney World…ok just kidding, but seriously, there are so many lanyards to choose from, or you can display them on a hat, backpack, or purse strap too

If you’re not into Disney Pin Trading yet – what are you waiting for? Check out the basics here and then start collecting and trading the next time you’re at the Disney Parks!

T.G.I.F Pic Of The Week – Mickey Shaped Foods Make Eating Fun!

I’ve talked before about Mickey Shaped Foods, and for those of you who haven’t tried anything in this iconic mouse shape, and are thinking “um what’s so great about Mickey shaped foods?” – it’s hard to explain. Just try them – they are adorable, and they taste better than regular shaped food (seriously, it’s true!)

photos MickeyBars

The Mickey Bar – a chocolate covered vanilla ice cream treat on a stick. It’s classic, delicious, and perfect for anyone and everyone (but you better make quick work of it on a hot day!)

BigWaffle

Crispy on the outside, warm and soft and yeast-y on the inside (pauses to wipe up drool) – I don’t know of anyone who would turn down

a Mickey waffle

Sharing CakePop

The ears of this Mickey cake pop are actually little marshmallows – isn’t that clever? The cake itself is dense and moist and delicious…hence the sharing that is bordering on a fight to see who will get the last bite…

Pretzel

Soft pretzels are such a great snack – and these Mickey shaped ones are big enough to share too (should you feel so inclined)

You can make your own Mickey Shaped foods at home too – with a Mickey Cookie Cutter, Mickey egg ring, or a Mickey waffle maker (I have all of these, of course – and I even have two Mickey waffle makers!)

T. G. I. F. Pic Of The Week – Disney Easter Ideas

It seems that there’s always some holiday I’m planning for or thinking – and now that I have a son, I want to do even more to make holiday celebrations special for him! I was thinking to myself the other day “what do you get an infant for Easter?” and obviously the easy answer is “nothing – he won’t remember it anyway” – but of course I want to get him SOMETHING, and while I’m at it, why not Disney-fy it?

Check out these awesome Disney Easter-themed gifts:

image

When I was at Disney World for Easter a few years ago, they had these super cute “easter eggs” that opened up into stuffed Easter Mickey and Minnies – aren’t they adorable?

A fun craft would be to make your own Disney Easter Basket to put all your dyed eggs in!

image

Stores like Walmart, Target, and Drugstores have these awesome pre-made Easter baskets filled with candy and toys and they come in a big variety of characters to choose from

Amazing personalized baskets brimming with Disney goodies can be purchased (and delivered to your house!) from Disney Floral & Gifts

If you need some ideas on what to stuff your Easter baskets with, check out these Egg-stra Magical Disney Easter Gift Ideas

As for me – I’m still trying to figure out what to get my little guy for Easter. I’m thinking something he can put in his mouth as that is his current fave (poor kermit…)

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – What I’m Thankful For

Happy Day After Thanksgiving (aka Black Friday for you shoppers out there)! Hope you all had a great holiday full of fun, food, family, and laughter. I know I did – getting to spend time with my baby boy and husband and dog always makes me happy, and add a turkey to that and it makes for an even better day!

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect upon all that we are grateful and thankful for in our lives, and I personally have a lot to be thankful for these days. Topping that list this year is this guy

20141117_103706

My son John who was born in October has brought so much to my life – I have learned a lot already and know he will continue to teach me every day, and for that I am most grateful

 DSC00739

I am also thankful for my husband – who puts up with me and all my quirks and even deals with my Disney obsession – he is a saint sometimes (like right now, he is currently addressing Christmas cards while throwing the tennis ball for the dog – I couldn’t ask for a better guy!). He’s a great husband, dad, and friend – and I am so glad to have him in my life

 IMG_7012

I have been lucky enough to travel to Disney World several times in the past few years, and for that I am so very grateful – it’s an expensive place to travel to, and I am so glad to have had the money to go, and I have loved every minute of every trip and can’t wait to take John in a few years!

What about you – what are YOU thankful for?

Oh – and I’m also thankful it’s Friday! TGIF!

“My Disney Experience” Makes WDW Planning Easy And Fun!

I am a planner. It’s in my blood. I can’t help it. I like to be organized, and to have itineraries and lists and all that jazz – especially when it comes to vacations. And now – thanks to the “My Disney Experience” app and website – planning for Walt Disney World trips has gotten much easier – and more fun!

Walt-Disney-World-Resorts-information_Full_17746

The website allows you to create a profile (complete with a Disney Character pic to complement your personality!) and once you are setup, you can link your Resort reservations, as well as Dining ADR’s, and you can even add which fireworks shows and parades you want to see, as well as fastpass+ reservations

I have been playing around with it for about a week now, and It’s pretty cool – It pulls up a calendar style list of your daily dining/faspasses/shows, and you can add other people to it or share plans with other Disney fans

My-Disney-Experience

I also have the app on my iphone – and it is also easy to use, and the information I save on the online website easily transfers to the app and is immediately available for viewing

I suggest you check it out – it can help you organize your trip, plus it is something you can do to get excited about the fact that you’re DISNEY BOUND!
