T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Relax in “Grand” Spa Style At WDW

There are TONS of amazing things at Walt Disney World for Adults – from beer brewed on site to golf to night life to – they have it all, including access to world class SPAS – like the newly renovated Senses Spa At Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

I thought it might be cool to take a little mini virtual tour of this amazing new facility to showcase all that it has to offer (like a 24 hour fitness center, facials, body wraps, and aromatherapy to name a few!)

What a beautiful place to relax!

Disney For Adults – FAQ

When people find out how much of a Disney lover I am, and how often I vacation at Walt Disney World, I am often met with skepticism, disbelief, and QUESTIONS – I am always prepared for all three, and it led me to realize that many people probably have the same inquiries, so here are some Frequently Asked Questions about Disney World for adults:

“Isn’t Walt Disney World Just For Kids?” – HECK NO! That’s really the reason behind me starting this blog, is to help adults realize that WDW has a lot to offer for those of ALL ages, and that everyone will have fun here, not just kids

“Isn’t A Walt Disney World vacation expensive?” – It can be, but if you make smart choices like staying in a Disney Value Resort, sharing meals (as Disney portions can be HUGE!), keeping your souvenir budget in check, and going at “off” times when the prices are lower, you can save money and make it more of a value

“What is there for adults to do at Walt Disney World?” – A LOT! From spas, to golf courses, to 5 star meals, to boat rentals, to watersports, to behind the scenes tours, to special events, to shopping, swimming….let’s just say this – you will never be bored at WDW

“Where can I stay at Walt Disney World?” – They have a ton of amazing Resorts – ranging in price and ameneties, you can stay in anything from a basic room to a campground cabin to an RV to a 3 bedroom suite. Disney does a great job with theming on these resorts too, so if you’re really into New Orleans, or the Caribbean, or Disney Animation – there are Resorts themed to all of those and more!

“What’s the food like at Walt Disney World?” – Theme Park food gets a bad rap, and for a good reason – it’s mostly overpriced, bad tasting, and bad for you. Well, rest assured that WDW food is absolutely NOTHING like your typical Theme Park cuisine – they do it all here: sushi, steak, salads, buffets, dishes from around the World, and much more. It’s one of my favorite parts of Disney – is trying new and different restaurants and food

“Why should I go to Walt Disney World?” – Why NOT? It is a magical place, with something for everyone – rides, food, shows, attractions, animals, characters, parades, live music, drinks, dancing, laughter – need I say more?

Try Something Different At WDW

Boat Rental

Walt Disney World is known for its Theme Parks and rides, and they are some of the best in the world, as Disney really strives to create an immersive guest experience, and they 100% succeed at that (in my humble opinion!)

But, Theme Parks and rides aren’t for everyone, and for those who are headed to WDW and are looking for something unique and different to occupy your time, here are some things you can try:

-Rent a Boat – WDW offers motorboats, jetskis, and canoes/paddle boats for rental, and it’s a great way to get to see more of Disney

-Fishing – You can book fishing excursions where you go out with a guide and spend a morning catching some large and small mouth bass (you don’t get to keep what you catch, unfortunately, but its still a fun time!)

-Bike Rides – Bike rentals are available at several resorts, and there are lots of trails to explore all around the resorts

-Horseback Riding – at Disney’s Fort Wilderness you can take lessons and go riding through their long nature trails (it’s so peaceful there you may even forget you’re at Disney World!)

-Spa Treatments – WDW offers 2 world class spas where you can relax in a serene setting while you get a massage, facial, and manicure

-Golf – there are several amazing golf courses at Disney, and you can event take lessons from their pros

-Shopping – Stores are everywhere at WDW, for those hardcore shoppers I recommend you head over to Downtown Disney, where you will find everything for sale from toys to Harleys!

-Swimming – All WDW Resorts have pools, and there are also water parks that are the perfect place to cool off on a hot day

-Try Some New Cuisine – WDW is known for it’s amazing food, and there are plenty of restaurants options out there that offer all kinds of food, so it’s a great place to be advanturous and try something new (like African or Moroccan food!)

Disney offers all this and much, much more – check out their website to find out what they have in store for you!

Pamper Your Mom – Walt Disney World Style!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there! It’s great to have a day where we can stop and reflect on just how much our moms mean to us (of course we should be doing this every day!), and I am glad to have today to show my mom how much I love and appreciate all she did for me when I was little, and all that she does for me now that I am an adult!

When we are little, we need our moms for almost everything, and they are always there for us. I know when I was a kid, and we went on vacation to Walt Disney World, it was fun for all of us, but it probably wasn’t much of a ‘vacation’ for either of my parents, it was expensive and a lot of planning and work went into it to ensure that I had a good time, and now that I am an adult, I can truly appreciate some of the sacrifices they made to be able to take me on so many great vacations to Disney.

To me, being able to celebrate my mom and show her how much I care while on vacation at Walt Disney World would be the ultimate Mother’s Day gift, so I came up with some ways I can do that on our next trip:

Spa treatments – This would be an amazing gift for any mother, a chance to unwind while getting a massage, pedicure, facial, or all three! Check out more information on the Walt Disney World Spas here

A Romantic Dinner – Treating my mom and dad to a romantic (kid-free!) dinner would be a great way to show them how much they mean to me, giving them a chance to relax and reconnect, and luckily there are many great Walt Disney World restaurants to choose from (find the one your mom will love here)

Flowers – Coming back to her room after a long day of touring the WDW parks and seeing a huge bouquet of her favorite flowers can really make mom’s day, and Disney Florist can customize to any budget or style
Cake – Disney can do almost anything you can think of in terms of flavor or type of cake, you could even have it feature your mom’s favorite Disney movie or character, and have it delivered after a special dinner! Disney’s Special Occasion cake information can be found here
Let Mom Choose – not sure what mom might like best? Then let her be ‘queen for the day’ – and have her choose the day’s activities, let her pick which park and rides/attractions she wants to do, let her pick where to eat, and she will be sure to have a great day!

Souvenirs – Pick up something at the Parks you know your mom will love and surprise her with it when you get home, not only will she know you were thinking of her, but its great to have a surprise once you get back from a vacation. This one works even if you aren’t at Disney, as many items can be purchased online from The Disney Store.

So , should you find yourself celebrating Mother’s Day while on vacation at Walt Disney World, maybe you can use some of these ideas to make mom’s day. Even better, you can use them even when it’s NOT Mother’s Day, and really surprise her!
