T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – New Year, New Resolutions!

HAPPY 2015! Can’t believe Christmas is over and it’s a whole new year already! I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to take on 2015 and all the challenges and good times it is sure to bring! I like to make New Year’s Resolutions, and I have come up with some for this year:

Introducing my baby boy to the world of Disney, starting with these:

TGIF NY 1

Yeah, that’s right – Disney Videos! Actual VHS tapes of basically all the classics, and not only will this introduce him to Walt’s classics, but it will also teach him what a VCR is (something he otherwise would never have known, because who uses those anymore anyway? Well, me, duh!)

TGIF NY 2

Aside from videos, it’s also never too early to teach him about the Disney Parks too – he will need a full education on what it’s like to visit the happiest place on earth, and I hereby resolve to start that education ASAP!

TGIF NY 3

Another one of my New Year’s Resolutions is to cook more and to try new recipes. Lucky for me, Disney can help me out with that, with their assortment of cookbooks that contain recipes from the Disney Parks and Resorts!

My last resolution is the most important to me – and that is to spend as much time as I can with my family and get to watch my baby grow into a little boy – they grow up fast, and I won’t be missing a single minute of it. Before I know it, he will be tall enough to go on all the Rides at Walt Disney World! I can’t wait to take him – but for now, I will focus on enjoying this stage of his life and helping him learn and grow

What about you – do you make any New Years Resolutions? Are they Disney related?

TGIF and Happy New Year to all!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Happy 4th Of July!

   Disney-4th-of-July

Happy Independence Day! I hope everyone is getting a chance to enjoy the warm weather, attend some picnics, and that you’re enjoying a day off from work (I know I am!). But more than that – I hope you remember what this day is about – and that without those who fought for our freedom, we wouldn’t be here today!

It’s a great holiday isn’t it? BBQ’s and fireworks and sparklers and red white and blue…and Mickey? Yes – it’s possible to even infuse some Disney into your 4th of July celebrations with these easy DIY Disney crafts:

MinnieHeadband

Wouldn’t this be a cute headband for your favorite little Mouseketeer to wear on the 4th?

Coloring 4th

And what kid (or adult!) wouldn’t love to color this adorable scene?

StarfishCOokies

And since you will probably need to make something to bring to that family picnic, why not whip up Ariel’s adorable Starfish cookies?

Bake Your Mother Something Sweet From Disney This Mother’s Day!

Cake_gif_happy_birthday_disney_sleeping_beauty_fairy_green

Mother’s day is less than a week away – but if you haven’t picked out that perfect gift for your mom yet, don’t worry – because if there’s one things moms all over the world love, its something made by hand for them from their offspring. Oh, and another thing that most moms and women love – desserts. So if you make a dessert for your mom, you’re pretty much in the running for a “kid of the year” award – and why not incorporate a little Disney Magic in there while you’re at it?

Check out the dessert section of the Magical Recipes website for sweet treats to make for mom straight from the Disney Parks and Resorts! Not sure which recipe Mom would like? Then just check out the Chocolate lovers section of recipes – because I haven’t met a woman ever who didn’t like a chocolate dessert!

Hopefully yours will turn out a bit better than Sleeping Beauty’s Birthday cake did…but either way I bet Mom will LOVE it!

Missing The Happiest Place On Earth? Disney-Fy Your Home For That Magical Fix!

image8

I don’t know about you, but I tend to go through a MAJOR Disney withdrawal post-trip – and it makes me want to plan another trip and go back ASAP! As we know though – that isn’t always possible – and sometimes I have to figure out other ways to beat those Disney Blues. Here’s what I like to do:

SHOP! – I like to check out the Disney Store online and pick out things to help decorate my home and wardrobe so that I can keep that Disney magic alive and be reminded of just how much I love it. They even have a section of Disney Parks Merchandise – it’s almost as good as the real thing (well, sort of anyway…)

Recipes – I have several Disney Cookbooks with recipes from the Parks and Resorts, and it’s a lot of fun to flip through and look at the pictures and recipes and recreate some Disney dishes at home. Don’t have any Disney cookbooks? Fear not – as I regularly post on Chip and Co

Crafts – I love doing crafts, especially for holidays and loved ones – so it makes sense that I also love DISNEY crafts – check out a great selection here – this would be a great thing to do with your kids too, to help get them excited for a WDW trip (or to cheer them up after a trip)

Movies – A surefire way to beat the Disney blues is to pop in a Disney Movie – I even still have a bunch on VHS (and yes I even have a working VCR hooked up to my TV). My faves? Cinderella, and anything Muppets!

Post vacation depression happens to everyone – but these tips can really help lessen the load and put a smile on your face!

And what better thing to decorate your house with than handmade Disney Crafts?

Hope these inspire you to sit down with your family and create some great crafts (and memories!)

So Many Disney Recipes, So Little Time

minnieBaking

I know I have talked about Disney cookbooks, and there are plenty of them out there that can help you bring that Disney Magic into your home in between trips to Walt Disney World

While browsing online, I stumbled across an amazing website – Magical Recipes which is FULL of Disney recipes from the Parks, Resorts, and Cruise Line! It has a great search function, and I knew I was in the mood to bake some cookies, so it didn’t take me long to find this recipe for Double Chocolate Cookies which are served over at the Main Street Bakery in the Magic Kingdom (one of my personal favorite spots to grab a snack!)

Check out the delicious results over on my Baking Blog, and check out Magical Recipes so you can recreate your Disney faves at home!
