T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Unique Ways To Display Your WDW Trip Photos

Disney Trip photos are my absolute favorite souvenir – they are just the best thing, and you can do so much with them! Obviously we have a bunch framed and displayed around our house, but there are plenty of other ways you can show them off:

There are plenty of Disney mugs available for sale both in the Parks and online, but why not make your own instead?

That perfect shot you got of Cinderella’s Castle would look great on your phone, wouldn’t it?

Throw pillows, shower curtains – the possibilities are endless, really. These are examples of items you can get personalized from shutterfly.com (which I love), but I have also used Walmart and Target’s photo departments, and they have just as many awesome items to choose from

So instead of just a photo in a frame, why not mix it up a bit, give those WDW trip photos a new way to shine?

Forget The Flowers – I want DISNEY This Valentine’s Day

I was at Target a few days after Christmas – hoping to score some good post – holiday deals (which I did – half off Reese’s peanut butter cups? Yes PLEASE), and next to the discounted wrapping paper and LED light strands were items for Valentine’s Day, St Patrick’s Day, and Easter. Now – you might think I’m now going to say “why is this stuff out so early?” and complain about the commercialization of our country – but I am NOT. Why not? Because I love holidays, and I love to plan ahead – so I am actually kind of psyched to see this stuff out at the stores (the cheese stands alone on this, I realize)

Of the three aforementioned holidays, Valentine’s Day is my favorite – my husband and I don’t make a big deal out of it usually, but I love thinking of little things to make or buy him, things with sentimental value that really mean something to him. After being together for ten years, that can get tricky – but that’s half the fun of it! As a Disney lover, I of course love receiving Disney themed items for any and all holidays/celebrations – because who can tell a love story better than Disney? No one. This year I am going to leave not-so-subtle hints for my husband in hopes that he will skip the roses in favor of something way better:

Jewelry is always a good go-to present for Valentine’s Day – check out the Disney options here

This frame would be perfect for displaying a cure snapshot of you and your hunny – check it and others out here

If you’re a fellow Disney lover like me, maybe you can convince your sweetie to get you one of these awesome gifts this Valentine’s Day. And if you don’t have a Valentine – these make perfect “to me from me” presents too!

DisneyGifts Cards

As much as I would love to receive any of these great gifts, the truth is – a homemade gift is even better than something store bought! And not to brag, but my husband has made me some awesome cards and gifts over the years – and I love every single one and am so grateful he takes the time to create these for me – I’m a lucky girl to have such a great Valentine!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – My All Time Favorite Trip Pics

I love taking a look back at photos from my trips to Disney – each one holds a special memory – and I love remembering the great times I’ve had there! There are some photos that stand out for me, ones that I always come back to and that make me smile no matter what…

MainStreetCastle

This was one of the first photos taken on our honeymoon – I hadn’t been to Disney in 8 years, and I was so excited to finally be back and standing in my favorite spot – at the base of Main Street, in front of the Castle – with the World at my feet (the DISNEY world that is!)

TGIF Characters

While we were on our honeymoon, we dined at Chef Mickey’s – and when Minnie came to greet us, she made a big fuss over my rings and our new marriage, it was so cute!

IceCream

I FINALLY got to try the Gold Rush peanut butter sundae at Ghiradelli in Downtown Disney a few years ago – it was SO GOOD! Sadly, the location is now closed, but I still have the memory of how yummy it was!

1900 6

There are few things better than waking up on Christmas morning at Walt Disney World – which I was lucky enough to do two years ago! We had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and enjoyed the amazing buffet and characters – here we are posing in front of the gorgeous tree in the lobby of the Grand Floridian!

Spending Christmas in Disney was amazing – and the most amazing thing of all that we did that week was getting to watch the Osbourne Spectacle of Lights be lit at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – they do a little ceremony where Goofy dressed as Santa comes and flips a giant switch and suddenly there’s lights, music, and even snow!

What about you – what are YOUR favorite Disney moments?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney-Themed Mother’s Day Ideas

Hard to believe it’s already May, isn’t it? But here we are – another Spring upon us – the birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, the rain is falling (depending on where you live, it may be falling a LOT), and the temperature is slowly inching upward. Spring brings with it plenty of great things to look forward to – picnics, long strolls around the neighborhood, playing outside, longer days, and of course – Mother’s Day! In case you didn’t know, Mother’s Day is May 10th this year (yeah, as in NEXT SUNDAY!) – but don’t worry if you haven’t gotten a gift for mom yet, because I’ve got some great ideas for you (with a DISNEY flair, of course!)

Mday Frame

Photos are always a great gift for mom – a framed memory of a great Disney trip perhaps? These frames are great because they can be personalized, but there are plenty of other choices too – check out the Photos and Memories section of the Disney Store online for a whole bunch of album and frame options

What woman doesn’t love receiving jewelry as a gift? This set is really affordable, but if you’re looking for something a bit fancier, don’t worry – The Disney Store has got you covered there, too

Mday Vera

Vera Bradley bags and accessories are super popular right now – so if your mom is a fan, then I suggest you check out the Disney Vera Bradley Collection for a new tote or cute crossbody purse for Mom

Mday Mug

I don’t know many mothers who can survive without coffee (myself included!). Order mom a cute mug and gift it paired with a bag of her favorite brew

Mday Mom

I personally can’t wait to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom and my little guy this year – and I really hope she likes the gift I got her, and hopefully you’re inspired by this to pick out a great Disney gift for your mom too!

DIY Some Disney Love This Valentine’s Day

Ok so Christmas is over (boo) and we are in the middle of another cold, cold winter (double boo). BUT – luckily Valentine’s Day is coming up (well, luckily for those of you who love this holiday – like me!). I know many think it’s just a Hallmark holiday or a waste of time – but I love it! I love the hearts and pink and red decorations and flowers and candy – and I especially love homemade gifts – they really show how much you care, and since I am a huge Disney fan, I love when my man makes me Disney gifts for Valentine’s Day even more! Here are some ideas/things he has made me that I hope can inspire the romantic in you:

DisneyGifts Cards

Even if you don’t celebrate or enjoy Valentine’s Day, a card saying “I Love You” is great any time of the year – and if you have the time and talent, making one yourself is always the way to go. Over the years, my husband has drawn me several cards featuring some of my favorite characters (mainly Disney ones of course!), and they are some of the best things I have ever received! If you aren’t sure you can make a card, a store bought card with a heartfelt message works too

DisneyGifts Art1

I couldn’t believe it when I opened this one – talk about awesome! My guy had seen a similar crayon art piece online, and decided he wanted to do one with Mickey and Minnie on it for me! Check out the instructions on how to create your own Melted Crayon Art here

DisneyGiftsArt2

Isn’t this one fun? My favorite Disney movie of all time is Cinderella – so my husband made this for me, and I just love how he incorporated pictures from our fun times in Disney! Something like this would be easy to create for the one you love – or you can do something simpler and get a great Disney photo frame and put a picture of the two of you in it. Or you can always check out photo websites like Shutterfly.com which have tons of photo gift items that you can personalize (with pictures from your Disney vacations perhaps?)

Another idea that can really be personalized is a Disney gift basket – there’s tons of Disney merchandise out there, from the Disney Store (both online and in malls!) to almost any local store near you – Grocery stores, Target, Wal-Mart, Department stores like JP Penney – all of them carry an assortment of Disney apparel, toys, accessories, food, and more! Especially around the holidays – places like Target will have Valentine’s themed cards, candy, mugs, plush toys, snacks etc – grab a bunch and put them in a nice basket and boom you’ve got yourself an easy DIY Disney Valentine’s gift! Of course, if you wanted to get a little more creative, you could do a basket themed after their favorite Disney movie, or make one full of stuff for their next Disney trip – the sky’s the limit here!

While the main purpose of this post was to brag about how awesome my husband is and how he gives me great gifts (just kidding – sorta!) – what I really want to impress upon everyone is that making your own Disney gifts for your Valentine doesn’t have to be hard or expensive, and you don’t have to be the king or queen of crafting to put together a nice, personalized gift that shows them how much you care!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney Newborn Photo Shoot Ideas

Ok, so I know I usually blog about how awesome Walt Disney World is for adults – and I admit I have been just a bit sidetracked lately – probably because of the pending new addition to our family, a baby boy that should be arriving any day now (Lord willing!)

We are already planning on having newborn photos taken with us and the baby (and our baby boy Walter too – our two year old lab/shepherd mix who was of course named after Walt Disney!), and of course I want to try and incorporate some form of Disney into the photo shoot, and I came across these ideas that were too amazing not to share:

I can’t wait to incorporate some of our little guy’s Disney stuff into his first photo shoot – I definitely want to include a stuffed Mickey, and the Mickey quilt his grandma handmade for him, and he has a little Mickey hat too!

You can find tons of photo shoot ideas on Pinterest – not just for babies but for kids of all ages, pets, and families too!
