T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Fairytales Really DO Come True!

Many of us Disney Loving Gals have always dreamt of getting married at one of the Disney Parks – the Castle as the backdrop, with Mickey to give you away and dance the night away with you…and of course, marrying your own version of Prince Charming!

While most of us realize this is just a dream that will likely never come true, it’s still fun to imagine! And of course, if you have the money (specifically – LOTS of it) – you can make it happen! At Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons they make dreams come true every day!

They even recently created a television series about it, and just last week they had a Holiday themed episode of it:

I was of course plastered to the screen the whole time – and couldn’t believe just how amazing everything was! Everything was themed and sparkled down to the tiniest detail – all with that Magical Disney Touch!

Aside from showing the weddings and narrating the stories of the couples – Disney also snuck in plenty of Park footage – showing how beautiful everything looks for the Holidays and basically making me wish I was there right this minute and BRB I will just be booking a trip to Disney World…strategic marketing by Disney isn’t it??

So – moral of the story is – if you want to get married at Disney – save your pennies, and maybe someday you can have a wedding as beautiful as these!

This Spring the series will air showing even more fabulous Disney Weddings – I can’t wait!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – My Top Toddler (And Adult!) Disney Gift Picks

Well. Halloween is over, the costumes have been stashed away, the candy has been eaten (well – some of it anyway – trying to pace myself this year…) – and you know what THAT means – it’s time for CHRISTMAS. Now – don’t get all riled up – I am not suggesting you put up the tree or sing carols, but one thing you might want to start doing is SHOPPING – thinking about who you need to buy for and what they might like/want/need. And if you think it’s too early for that – here’s a bit of data for you – for those of us who are paid every other week at work, there are only like 3 or 4 paychecks left until Christmas (scary, right?)

So, now that Halloween is over, retailers are tempting us all with their Christmas displays, emails, and lists of “Top Holiday Gifts”. This inspired me to come up with my Top Disney Holiday Gift Picks:

Xmas17 9

For Toddlers – Personalized blankets, a light up wand that dispenses bubbles, Mickey play food set, or a Disney train – what toddler wouldn’t love unwrapping these? I know mine would love any (or all!) of them!

Xmas17 10

For Adults – A Mickey Crock Pot set, an adorable purse (with ears!), wine glasses (which are great but if you’re giving them to me they best be accompanied by some actual wine – cuz let’s face it – the holidays can be stressful!), and I don’t know about you but everyone’s parents/grandparents had one of those ceramic light up trees when I was a kid – I LOVE them and have always wanted one – this one with the Disney touches is amazing!

Everything above can be purchased Here. Happy Shopping!

T.G.I.F Pic Of The Week: A Closer Look At Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

One of my dreams is to someday spend Halloween at Walt Disney World – and to dress in costume to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. WHY, you might be wondering? Well, it just sounds like too much fun to pass up!

For those not familiar with the event, it’s held on select evenings in September and October, and features trick or treating, a Halloween parade, special character appearances and more. Check it out:

Kids of all ages get into the Happy Halloween spirit while trick-or-treating during MickeyÕs Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. The family-friendly after-hours event also offers dance parties, meet and greets with favorite characters in costume, plus the must-see "Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade" and "Happy HalloWishes" fireworks display. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special ticket event and takes place on select nights each fall at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Ali Nasser, photographer)

Ok so I know that maybe I am slightly biased because I love fall so much, but I just can’t imagine a more fun way to spend Halloween than at DISNEY WORLD – with candy, dressed up characters, and pumpkins galore!
I can just picture myself – dressed as Minnie Mouse, enjoying a delicious caramel apple as I take in the parade…#fallgoals #maybesomeday

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – My (Other) Favorite Time Of The Year To Visit WDW

I wrote recently about why Halloween is the Perfect time to visit WDW – and while I totally stand behind all my reasons, I must admit – I have a real soft spot for Disney at Christmastime, too – they start the evening of Halloween and work through the night to remove the fall and pumpkin décor and get right into that Christmas spirit starting November 1st. Here’s some highlights of what you will see at Christmastime at Disney World:

IMG_7031

First of all, there’s gingerbread everywhere – literally. Houses made of it, displays – and don’t worry – they sell it to eat too (otherwise that would just be cruel!)

HUGE, beautifully decorated trees at every Park and Resort

And lights GALORE – display after display, and the castle gets a little sprucing up for the season too – in the form of 200,000 LED lights that change color and create an amazing sight!

Characters dress up too

And it’s always good to have an accurate Christmas countdown, too (1 day until Santa!)

Why isn’t Christmastime my #1 FAVORITE time to visit WDW, you might ask? Well – the main reason is that it is SUPER CROWDED during the weekends and the week of Christmas – and while I loved it, I can see why it would NOT be ideal for most people with families/kids, or anyone traveling there for the first time. Also, holiday Resort room rates tend to be higher…not exactly budget friendly. But it sure is pretty, isn’t it? It’s a truly magical, special experience that is worth the extra money and braving the crowds at least once in your lifetime – trust me!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Why Halloween Is The PERFECT Time To Visit WDW

While every day at WDW is sure to be an amazing one, there are certain days/times of the year that are more magical than others. Personally, I LOVE Disney at Christmastime – the decorations, the food, the sounds, the smells – it’s all amazing! BUT – it is also one of the BUSIEST times of the year at the Parks, with crowds so thick that the wait time for Space Mountain is 2.5 hours or more…so understandably, not everyone would jump at the chance to head there in late December.

All things considered, the perfect time of year for visiting WDW is really around Halloween time – the crowds are lighter, the weather cooler, and the décor and atmosphere is just as amazing (if not more so!) than at Christmas! Check out these shots of Halloween at WDW:

Halloween 1

Trick or treat, meet and greet with characters, and enjoy an exclusive parade – all of this and more can be found at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Halloween 3 Halloween 2 Halloween 5

The décor is really amazing at this time of year – they go all out with pumpkins and fall theming everywhere!

Halloween 9 Halloween 8 Halloween 6 Halloween 7

And what would a Halloween celebration be without themed treats? Decorated and delicious – these will delight those of all ages (not to mention make me drool all over my keyboard…)

I can’t WAIT to bring my son to experience Halloween at Walt Disney World – I just know he will find it as amazingly magical as I do!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Enjoying Gingerbread Mickeys At Home!

I am always looking for ways to enjoy Disney at home – whether it be framed trip photos hanging on the walls, Christmas ornaments commemorating the fun times, or making treats that remind me of Disney – I will do what I can to keep that Disney Magic alive until I can go on my next Disney World trip!

GbreadCookieMix

One of the (many!) souvenirs I picked up last month while at Disney World was this Gingerbread cookie mix. To be honest, I could care less about the mix – it was the cookie cutter I was really after here!

GbreadCookieEating

Mickey Gingerbread men are found around the Parks during the holidays, in both Gingerbread and Sugar cookie form – and when I saw this mix with the accompanying cutter, I knew I had to take it home with me

Baking is one of my favorite things to do (I love it so much I even blog about it) – and so I never miss a chance to get in the kitchen and whip up a tasty treat for my friends and family (ok, and myself too!)

GbreadCuttingout

The mix was easy to make and roll out – and then I got to cut out the cute Mickey hat wearing men!

Gbreadmen Oven

They looked so cute on the cookie sheets, and they smelled the house with a DELICIOUS Christmas-y scent!

GbreadMen with Coffee

The best part was getting to EAT them – ears first of course! They were not too “ginger-y”, I would say more of a cross between gingerbread and a sugar cookie

I love souvenirs like this – delicious and a great way to relive all the great Disney memories! What about you – what’s your favorite vacation souvenir?
