T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Gear Up For Halloween With These Awesome (Disney!) Costumes!

Halloween is JUST around the corner, and if your house is anything like mine, you’ve been decorating and getting ready to celebrate with candy, costumes, and fun! Speaking of costumes – it’s really the best part of Halloween isn’t it? Getting to dress up as literally anything else you want to dress up as for one whole day? It’s so fun to dress up, and as a parent it’s even more fun to see your kids choose a costume and act the part and really get into the Halloween Spirit!

If your kid is a big Disney/Marvel fan (like mine is!) Then the Disney Store has you covered – with a TON of costume options – Princesses, Superheroes, and everything in between!

Buzz Lightyear and Spiderman are just a few of the offerings for little boys – mine would LOVE to go dressed as either one for Halloween!

If you tend to be more of the procrastinating type, OR if your little one suddenly changes their mind LAST minute and you need to get something under a time crunch – don’t worry, you still have PLENTY of Disney-themed options available to you at stores like Target and Wal-Mart (like these adorable options!)

T.G.I.F Pic Of The Week: A Closer Look At Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

One of my dreams is to someday spend Halloween at Walt Disney World – and to dress in costume to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. WHY, you might be wondering? Well, it just sounds like too much fun to pass up!

For those not familiar with the event, it’s held on select evenings in September and October, and features trick or treating, a Halloween parade, special character appearances and more. Check it out:

Kids of all ages get into the Happy Halloween spirit while trick-or-treating during MickeyÕs Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. The family-friendly after-hours event also offers dance parties, meet and greets with favorite characters in costume, plus the must-see "Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade" and "Happy HalloWishes" fireworks display. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special ticket event and takes place on select nights each fall at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Ali Nasser, photographer)

Ok so I know that maybe I am slightly biased because I love fall so much, but I just can’t imagine a more fun way to spend Halloween than at DISNEY WORLD – with candy, dressed up characters, and pumpkins galore!
I can just picture myself – dressed as Minnie Mouse, enjoying a delicious caramel apple as I take in the parade…#fallgoals #maybesomeday

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week: My Top Picks For Disney Halloween Costumes

Halloween is coming up! Ok – maybe it’s still a month away, but hey – tomorrow will be October, and that means all things spooky and scary (including scary movies on TV like 24/7 which is a DREAM come true for me!), and it also means it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to be for Halloween! As a HUGE Disney fanatic, my first thoughts obviously go to some of my favorite Disney characters. And in doing my “research” (aka scrolling through google/pinterest/Disney facebook forums), I came across some people who are legit killing it and are so on top of their costume game it’s downright SCARY! Check out my picks for top Disney Halloween Costumes:

costumes-ursula

Best DIY – This is dedication – I mean really – putting purple makeup all over yourself cannot be an easy or fast process – but it’s worth it for the end result of this amazing Ursula getup

costumes-couple

Best Couples Costume – Ok so Mickey and Minnie would be the obvious choice here, which is probably why I love this so much – you don’t see many Donald (or Daisy!) costumes, and I love that they went for the DIY on this, too!

costumes-baby

Cutest Disney Babe – I know my toddler would hate me for this (don’t worry I won’t be subjecting him to this!) – as I am sure it’s thick, uncomfortable, and hot as heck with that giant hood piece – but could it be any cuter? I mean really, a baby Fozzy costume – wokka wokka!!

costumes-funniest

Funniest – If you’ve been to Walt Disney World then you might have seen these cards – they hand them out randomly as you enter a ride queue, and they help determine the wait time for the ride. I know I always feel so special when I get chosen to carry one, and so when I stumbled across this costume I just had to share it (hey, it made me laugh!)

costume-store-bought

Best Store-Bought – For me it just doesn’t get any cuter than a little girl dressed as a Disney Princess – and the Disney Store as well as costume stores like Party City sell some super cute princess frocks (and accessories too!)

So what will it be for you – a classic Mickey, or another of your favorite Disney characters? I would love to know – tell me in the comments! TGIF!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Toddlers In Disney Costumes = THE MOST PRECIOUS THING EVER!

My husband and I have been trying to figure out what our son’s Halloween costume should be, and of COURSE most of our ideas are Disney-themed…and in browsing around we found some pretty adorable possibilities, check ’em out:

If you are feeling crafty, check out this list of Disney DIY Costumes For Boys (including the adorable Jake and Peter Pan shown above!)

….Of course, if you are not particularly crafty or good with a sewing machine, you can always buy a Disney costume – places like Party City have a HUGE selection, and the Disney Store website has some, too. From princesses to superheros to Star Wars – you can find it ALL online

Truth be told – I would LOVE for my son to be a Disney character for Halloween – but the reality is I know he won’t wear a hat, hoodie, or anything too big/hot/poofy – so as long as we find SOMETHING he will keep on – I will consider that a win!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to everyone! Hope you enjoy this fun holiday as much as I do – I love scary movies and trick or treating and candy and costumes and decorating for it – it’s a great time for all, and now that I have a little guy of my own, it will be great to get to experience it all with him too!

20141023_112219

Here’s my little guy all ready to party! Ok well maybe not party – maybe take a nap. and poop. But still – he’s dressed for the occasion anyway! He also has a Mickey Mouse costume to rock out tonight when we hand out candy (what kind of Disney lover would I be if I didn’t have a Disney costume for him, right?!)

Speaking of Disney costumes, you can buy them pretty much everywhere now – costume stores, Target, Walmart, KMart – you name a store, they carry Disney Halloween gear! If you’re planning on heading to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at WDW’s Magic Kingdom, then you will definitely want to think about what to wear to it – costumes are encouraged and are a must for any trick or treating party! People really like to think outside the box when it comes to dressing for the party:

Halloween1

Toy Story Themed Toys – Love this as a family costume idea!

Halloween2

Haunted Mansion characters – so creative!

Halloween3

UP themed couple’s costume

Halloween4

These Mickey Bars look delicious, don’t they?!

Halloween5

Classic Couple Mickey And Minnie pose for a kiss!

So while you can buy premade Disney costumes anywhere, if you use your imagination you can probably come up with something even more unique and amazing to wear to the Party – whether it be at Disney or at home!

Enjoy your Halloween – and TGIF!
