T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Spotlight On “Be Our Guest”

As you probably already know, last weekend the new Beauty And The Beast Live Action movie was released in theaters. I was lucky enough to get to go see it, and I loved it – the characters were amazing – especially the beast! The movie will bring about a whole new generation of Beauty And The Beast lovers – and Disney World is more than prepared for that! When they re-designed Fantasyland, they included a restaurant themed after the movie called “Be Our Guest” – and it is basically like walking into the movie! Check it out:

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a French-themed menu, featuring items like Croque Monsieur (grilled ham and cheese sandwich), Tuna Nicoise Salad, and of course – “The Grey Stuff” is offered on the dessert menu (try your hand at making your own Grey Stuff At Home!)

While it is labeled as a “Quick Service” Restaurant, I would recommend making a reservation if you’re planning to head here – as the lines can be insane, and it will only get busier with the release of the new movie! I can’t wait to try it out next time I’m in WDW!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Foodies Rejoice – Food And Wine Time Is Almost Here!

The characters, the rides, the shows – there’s so much to see and do at Walt Disney World that just thinking about it all makes me tired…and HUNGRY. Luckily, WDW has some truly amazing cuisine – and if you’re a “foodie” then you might want to plan your Disney vacation around the annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival – where you can experience even MORE amazing eats!

Guests can sample tapas-sized tastes of inventive cuisine from more than 30 global marketplaces during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Sept. 25-Nov. 16, 2015 at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The popular fall festival also features wine tastings, culinary demonstrations, mixology seminars, nightly "Eat to the Beat" concerts and a broad range of premium dining events. For the first time in the festival's 20-year-history, global marketplace experiences, expand from the park's World Showcase into Future World. (Matt Stroshane, photographer)

This year the Festival runs from September 14th – November 14th, and in addition to TONS of pop up kiosks featuring cuisine from around the world – places like Belgium, Brazil, South Korea, and MANY more will be represented

The idea here is to pair the country’s signature dishes with their best wines and beverages, to really showcase the food AND drink! Check out the full list of kiosks that will be at this year’s festival Here

In addition to the food and drink available for purchase, there will be live concerts, culinary demonstrations, beverage seminars, and newly added this year – the chance to get in on the action with “Mix it, Make It, Celebrate it!” classes (like sushi making and cake decorating to name a few!)

The Food and Wine Festival is really a dream come true for someone like myself – who loves Disney and FOOD – and I can’t wait to check it out next fall when I head to WDW!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Disney Snack Attack

Walt Disney World has some of the best food ever – I mean we are talking way above and beyond your standard burgers/chicken nuggets/random fried stuff that you find at most theme parks (but if you’re into that, don’t worry – they have that too!) Check out some of the amazing snacks you can get while at WDW:

snack7      snack1

As you can see, my husband and I like to share cake pops – and can you blame us when they are moist and flavorful, not to mention Mickey shaped?
snack2
Speaking of Mickey shaped – The Mickey Bar is a MUST on a hot day. Or any day really – I would even eat one in the snow – that’s how classically delicious they are

snack3snack4

Anything from Karamell Kuche in  Epcot’s Germany. Seriously – ANYTHING

snack5

Any of the sundaes from Ghiradelli in Disney Springs – this is the Gold Rush, with peanut butter and hot fudge, and it’s amazing – but anything made with their housemade fudge is to die for

snack6
…In case you hadn’t noticed, I have a bit of a sweet tooth…but my husband tends to enjoy salty things more, and soft pretzels are always a hit with him (this one used to have Mickey ears…but he scarfed those up before I could even get a picture!)

When snacktime hits at Disney World, there are so many awesome options that it would take weeks to try them all – which by the way is definitely what I am doing if I ever win the lottery!
