T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Meeting The Main Man Himself – MICKEY MOUSE!

It’s hard to believe that our Disney World trip is over – we came back last Saturday, and I personally am missing it SO MUCH – and so is my son! He has asked me almost daily if we can go back – “Mommy – after school, we can go to Disney World?” and today’s was “Mommy, we just have to get tickets, then we can go to Disney World” – well pal, I wish it was that simple – if it was, we would be there RIGHT NOW – but unfortunately, it’s a bit trickier than that…hopefully someday soon we can go back, but for now, all we can do is remember how amazing our week in WDW was – and if I had to narrow it down what was the best part, I would have a LOT of trouble, but for sure one thing that stands out in my mind is my son’s first encounters with Mickey – he was lucky enough to meet him THREE times on our trip, and he loved every one:

First time was at the Epcot Character Spot – where he was so thrilled he couldn’t stop smiling!

Then we had dinner at Chef Mickey’s – which was just as fun as I remember it being!

Final trip encounter with Mickey was at breakfast at Tusker House at Animal Kingdom – which I personally love, as I think their safari outfits are so cute!

I can’t wait to start planning our next WDW trip – and I know my son can’t wait, either!

T.G.I.F Pic Of The Week – My Top Fastpass + Picks – Epcot

When I was a kid, I really did NOT care for Epcot. And back in the early 90’s – they certainly didn’t have as much to offer young ones as they do today! It bored me – the countries didn’t make any sense to me, and the whole “Future World” concept did NOT interest me at all. These days, I have grown to appreciate Epcot MUCH more – the futuristic theme is kitschy and fun, and the countries still aren’t my favorite – but their food (and drink!) options are much more appealing as an adult

As we prepare to take our first family trip to Walt Disney World, I try and imagine how my son will see Epcot – will he view it as boring like I did, or will he love it? I tend to think he will love it, as he kind of loves everything and is at that great age where he is in awe of everything new – but still, when it comes to picking Fastpasses for Epcot, I want to make sure I am choosing extra carefully, picking rides and attractions that will cultivate a love for Epcot at a young age. So – I spent a LOT of time thinking about these – my top Epcot Fastpass+ picks:

FP Epcot1

The Epcot Character Spot was a MUST HAVE on my Epcot Fastpass list – my son LOVES Mickey and pals – so the chance to meet them ALL in one spot is a necessity! When we were here years ago, it was the “fab five” – Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto – and I am not sure all 5 are still here regularly – but no matter to us – we will love whoever is there for hugs and photos and autographs!

Test Track – Now that the ride has been redesigned and you have the interactive queue where you design your car, I just know that this will be a home run with my son (plus, we love it too!)

FP Epcot 3

FP epcot 4

Spaceship Earth – This is a ride that used to have little to no standby wait time, but has grown largely in popularity recently, and has experienced wait times of 45-60 minutes. And since I love it – I want to make sure it’s one we are able to do – so it rounds out our fastpass list for Epcot!

I am pumped to be getting closer to our WDW trip – we are under 3 months now on our countdown! And I have been working diligently on planning the trip – making lists for packing, purchasing things here and there for the trip, and of course making Fastpass+ lists – check out my ones for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, and stay tuned next week for my Animal Kingdom picks!

Spring may technically still be a few weeks away – but it’s getting close, especially at Walt Disney World! Check out the topiaries in bloom at WDW:

These and many more are on display during the annual 2018 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival happening now through May all throughout Epcot.

Does this mean the snow is done? I hope so *fingers crossed!*

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Rose Gold Mania Hits The Disney Parks

It all started back in August – when these Rose Gold Minnie Ears hit the shelves at various shops throughout the Disney Parks

They were an instant hit – so much so that they couldn’t keep them in stock the first few months! (Don’t worry if you haven’t gotten yours yet – you can buy them on the ShopDisney App)

Disney took this as a good sign – and ran with it:

The millennial pink Magic band was introduced soon thereafter…

…As were these Rose Gold Jerseys

Soon enough, they realized it was time to venture outside of apparel – and go for the big guns…

…and by big guns I mean DESSERT, of course! This is the new Rose Gold Ears Cupcake – available at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot. The cake itself is marble, with a pile of vanilla buttercream on top. The bow and ears are fondant – which means they are edible but probably not the best tasting thing ever – but they sure are adorable!

This one definitely falls into the “too cute to eat (but I will demolish it anyway)” category! I hope they are still around later this year when I head to WDW

What about you – will you be giving into the “Rose Gold” trend for any of these awesome goodies?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – But First…Let Me Take a Selfie

I was doing some Disney web browsing (as I often do because – well – Disney rules), checking out news and updates people had posted -and I stumbled across this article titled “9 “Walls” Disney Parks Super Fans Deem Instagram Worthy” – and upon further reading, I realized – it’s really an article about the best places to take selfies at Walt Disney World. Now – I understand that not everyone is super into taking selfies, but if you ARE – then these are some of the best places to do it:

I personally LOVE all of these, and upon further inspection I found even more awesome places to pose – check out these, and even more here

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Ok Though – Spring Can SERIOUSLY Start Sprouting Up Anytime…

It snowed last week at my house. And we aren’t talking just a little tiny dusting that immediately melted/didn’t even turn the ground white. No. we are talking big, fluffy white flakes, all night and all day. And while I realize it’s pretty common for that to happen here in Upstate NY, I just am really ready for it to be done, and for the flowers to come poking out, and the grass and leaves to grow nice and green…and since that clearly isn’t going to be happening here anytime soon, I invite you to join me on a little virtual trip to Walt Disney World, specifically to the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival – where spring has DEFINITELY sprung:

FG1FG2FG3Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival2011 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.FG6FG7

The Festival itself features these and many many more amazing topiaries and floral displays, as well as concerts, seminars, demonstrations, and farm to table dining. It runs from the beginning of March to the end of May, and even if you’re not an avid gardener, you will appreciate the beauty and effort that is put into this amazing annual celebration!

What better way to celebrate spring than with a festival in bloom? Now if only some of that could head up North…TGIF!
