700+ acres of lush gorgeous natural wooded area interspersed among over 700 campsites and over 400 Wilderness cabins are all available at Walt Disney World’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
This weeks T.G.I.F. pic of the week post features the place that houses many of my personal childhood memories…driving golf carts, campfires and smores and movies with Chip and Dale, and that less-than-successful pedal boat rental (it looked a lot easier than it was!)
Fort Wilderness is a great place to stay if you have the time to drive to WDW and enjoy the great outdoors-and if you would rather stay in another resort instead of a camper, Fort Wilderness is a great place to visit for an afternoon-rent a bike and ride around and then follow that up with a trip to the ever popular Hoop De Doo Review dinner show.
And yes that is me in that picture-standing by the dock to the magic kingdom boat launch (that’s right-you can take a boat to the magic kingdom from fort wilderness-another of its many perks!)
Below that you see some scenic pictures that truly don’t do Fort Wilderness justice!
