My husband and I leave TOMORROW for our week in Disney World – and I can’t even begin to express how excited I am about it! Disney is an amazing place to be, but at Christmas it is even better – and I can’t WAIT to wake up on Christmas morning at the happiest place on earth!
As I was packing, I got to thinking about the things I am most looking forward to…
That first view of Cinderella’s Castle from the entrance to Main Street is probably one of my all-time favorite sights (it will likely move me to tears, sappy, I know)
Getting a hug from your favorite character is great – it makes you feel like a kid again!
The FOOD at Disney is something to look forward to for sure. At the top of my “must eat” list? One of these hugely delicious Butterfinger Cupcakes
One of the greatest things of all is getting to see my husband and family enjoy themselves – and Star Tours is definitely one of my husband’s favorites, so I am sure we will be riding it multiple times!
So much to look forward to! Can’t wait to leave tomorrow, and next week I will be coming to you LIVE from WALT DISNEY WORLD so stay tuned for that

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of my favorite of the 4 Theme Parks – it’s ‘streets’, live performers, rides and attractions emulate the Hollywood glamour of the early 20th century. As you stand at the entrance, you’re taken in by the sights and sounds of Old Hollywood, and if you listen closely, you can even hear the screams coming from the Tower of Terror
Check out some of my favorite “Hollywood” spots:
This “camera” store is a favorite of my husbands (he is a huge film camera fan/advocate/collector)
Here we are posing near the entrance – you can see Mickey’s giant Sorcerer’s Hat behind us!
Clowning around outside Muppet Vision 3D –one of my personal faves
Seeing if the “slipper” fits outside of the Great Movie Ride
Darth Vader shows us all who’s boss outside of Star Tours (my husband’s fave ride!)
Hollywood Studios has a lot to offer – and for you movie lovers out there, I suggest you check it out – it’s pure heaven!

Now that Disney owns the rights to Star Wars and Lucas Film, they are making a 7th movie, and many are wondering if they are planning to do even more with Star Wars – like possibly build a whole Land themed after the legendary films?
In an online survey that was sent in late March to Disney Annual Passholders and other Disney enthusiasts, one of the questions read “How interested would you be in visiting a Star Wars themed land at the Disneyland Resort?”
Unfortunately that’s as far as the news has gone so far – we can only speculate at this time what they might do with the results from that survey, but hopefully people are in favor of the idea, and I know that personally my husband and I would be ALL FOR IT – we love Star Tours, and a Star Wars Land would be a perfect addition to Disneyland (and maybe someday Disney World in Florida too? One can dream….)

Walt Disney World is a great place for those of all ages to visit – and while you’re there, you might as well dress the part, right?
Check out some of these great T-shirts available in WDW:
We found this one in the gift shop outside of the Star Tours ride (one of my husband’s favorites!)
As a huge Winnie The Pooh fan, this one made me laugh!
Or you could go for a more classic look…
Yes, that is four adults wearing matching T-Shirts, and no, we don’t care how silly that might look :)
Or there’s the Christmas version of a classic Mickey T (which we will be able to reuse on our Disney trip this Christmas!)
Aren’t these ones adorable? I hope they have them on our next trip, as these are perfect for my husband and I!
Check out the apparal available online from the Disney Store and get yourself all dressed and ready for your next WDW trip!

Location - Star Tours is located in Disney’s Hollowood Studios Theme Park, and you really can’t miss it – just look for the giant AT-AT and you’ll have found this Star Wars themed simulator ride
What it’s Like – Take a journey to a galaxy far far away as you board this flight/motion simulator. The vehicle may not physically be moving along a track, but the technology and special effects definitely make you feel like you are sprinting at light speed as you try and escape from Darth Vader and make it back home safely! The ride itself looks pretty much like a movie theater, only smaller, and with seat belts. You strap in, and blast off into space! There are over 50 different versions of the ride, so chances are good you will get a different experience each time you board the space vehicle
Why I Love It – Truth be told, this is really not one of MY favorites – its really my husband who loves this one. He loves that it really follows the movies, and that it’s creative and immersive – you really feel like you’re a part of the ride. I definitely agree with him, this ride is a LOT of fun, which is why I don’t mind riding it a few times in a row! Oh, and they recently redid the ride last year, and it’s now in 3D, which means better, more realistic effects, and it also means super awesome 3D glasses!
On May 1 1989, “MGM Studios” Theme Park opened it’s doors at Walt Disney World. Since then, they have been captivating audiences with all of their Hollywood-themed stunts, shows, rides, and attractions
Have you ever been to MGM, or Hollywood Studios as it is now called?
If not, here are some of my personal faves that everyone should try at least once while visiting Hollywood Studios:
Must See/Do at Hollywood Studios:
-Muppet Vision 3D – a fun 3D movie starring your favorite Muppet characters!
-Star Tours – a virtual trip through the Star Wars Movies!
-Rock’N Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith – it goes upside down, and blasts awesome Aerosmith tunes during the ride, what could be better?!
-The Great Movie Ride – a tram tour through some of movies greatest moments
-The Tower of Terror – step onto a sketchy looking elevator for a heart-dropping trip through the Twilight Zone
Happy 23 year Anniversary to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and here is to many, MANY more amazing years of entertainment and fun!
