T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – What A View!

There are so many amazing things about Walt Disney World – The Parks The Rides, The Food…..etc…that it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the experience of it all!

Sometimes it’s worthwhile just to step back and take a look at your surroundings – you’ll find there’s really a LOT to see:

 

If you choose to stay at WDW’s Animal Kingdom Lodge -this could be the view off your balcony of the savannah, where you can watch the animal roam about (yep, those are giraffes out there!)

The Tree Of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is really something – its amazing to gaze at, but I also suggest that you get up close and personal with it and check out all the amazing animal engravings and designs – it’s a real work of art

The view from the balcony at California Grill at the top of the Contemporary Resort – you can really see it all, and it’s quite the spot for firework viewing too!

And my all time personal favorite view – standing at the base of Main Street, where you can get a great view of Cinderella’s Castle. Standing here makes me feel like I have come home

Talk about some great views!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – More Favorite Disney Things

Last Week I talked about some of my favorite Disney things, including Character Hugs, Mickey Waffles, and the View down Main Street of Cinderella’s Castle. Well, my mind was wandering to all things Disney today (as it so often does!), and I realized there are a WHOLE lot more Disney Things to Love, and this time I wanted to focus on some of the ones I love as an Adult Walt Disney World vacationer:

 

Trying out the different yummy Adult Beverages available at many WDW restaurants, including sampling some of the beers on the extensive list available at Raglan Road Irish Pub

Enjoying the View of the Savannah at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, something I love doing and I always try and arrive early for my dinner reservation at Boma so I can catch a glimpse of the animals!

Taking my time to stroll around Epcot’s World Showcase and really soak in the culture and detail that is imbedded within each country (something I did NOT care much for when I was a kid, but can really appreciate and enjoy as an adult!)

There are MANY things to love about Walt Disney World, so many that it’s hard to narrow down my absolute “favorites”, but I can try…

A Hug From A Character – there are few things better than this, it just makes you instantly feel like a kid again!

Mickey Waffles – Luckily this one isn’t limited to just the Disney Parks, I can make them at home with my Mickey Waffle Maker!

This is my absolute favorite view in the whole world (disney world or real world!) – the view of Cinderella’s Castle down Main Street is amazing, it just reminds me that I’m “home” again

 

These are just a very few of my favorite Disney things – they are each special to me, and seeing them reminds me of just how special Disney World is, and how much I love it!

T.G.I.F Pic Of The Week – Walt’s Vision Comes To Life At Disneyland

I know I mostly talk about how amazing Walt Disney World is, and it really is a great place to vacation for adults and kids alike, but the truth is, it isn’t the *original* Disney Theme Park - that title belongs to the Disneyland Theme Park in California, the place Walt created and saw his dreams and visions come to life!

I am lucky enough to have traveled to Disneyland once before, and am planning to go again sometime in the fall of 2014 (in time for their Halloween Festivities!), and I found myself going through some of my old pictures from that trip to the “Land”, and remembering just how great it is….

Disneyland has it all, and best of all – it’s all courtesy of the imagination of the man behind the mouse – Walt himself!

I can’t say I like Disnleyland better than Disney World, but I CAN say that I love them both for different reasons, and I know that I can’t WAIT to return to sunny California for more of the Disney Magic I love so much!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Smile For The Mickey Camera!

One of my favorite things to do while at Disney World is to take pictures, of anything and everything, so that I can capture all the amazing things we did and it’s a great way to relive the trip once we are back at home and in our post-Disney depression (yes, that really is a thing!)

My husband is also very much into taking pictures, but while I prefer digital, he is old school – he shoots exclusively on film, and has a rather large camera collection with some pretty cool cameras (remember film? I do – barely!)

One of the cameras he and I were both VERY excited to purchase was this Mick-A-Matic camera, circa 1970. It takes 126/instamatic film (which is pretty hard to come by nowadays since it hasn’t been manufactured since the 80′s!), and the picture quality isn’t the best, but let’s be honest – it’s all about the shape in this case!

 

We strolled down Main Street taking photos with this one day, and we got quite the reaction from Donald Duck himself, who was signing autographs in Frontierland – he shook his fist at it and was pretty angry that we weren’t using a Donald camera! He only calmed down and gave us the thumbs up when we said we promised to get a Donald camera for next time!

It’s a pretty cool addition to his camera collection, and it was definitely a blast to get to use it at the home of Mickey-Disney World!

We stayed at POP Century for this trip, and it is full of nostalgic memorabilia from the last 50 years. Behind the check in desk is this picture, and we thought it was pretty cool that our camera was famous (well kind of ha!)

 

 

 

It was a great find and while Donald might not like it, it reminds us of the Happiest Place On Earth!

For us Disney World lovers, we know how much it stinks to have to leave WDW, and whenever we can bring a piece of Disney into our every day lives, we love it! These awesome new items from Disney are no exception, I love the black and white and overall classy, adult feel of the dinnerware and accessories.
