T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – The Mouse’s Leading Lady

Minnie has been making us smile for years – and I have to admit she is a personal favorite of mine, and whenever I go to WDW, I make it a point to seek her out and have my picture taken with her. Her dress, her shoes, her bow, her polka dots – she is a fashion icon!

TGIF Minnie EpcotIn Epcot, you can meet up with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy at the Epcot Character Spot!

TGIF Minnie ChefMickeysThe fab five also make a daily appearance for breakfast and dinner over at the family-friendly Chef Mickey’s restaurant – the food is served buffet-style and you can enjoy the eats while the characters make the rounds for pictures, hugs, and autographs!

TGIF Minnie CaliMinnie hosts a character buffet breakfast at the Plaza Inn in Disneyland – she even dons a cute apron for the occasion!

TGIF Minnie OldAnd what tribute to Minnie Mouse would be complete without an adorable old school flashback shot (circa late 80′s)? Note my mom’s perm – gotta love the big hair!

Hope these made you smile!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – The Most Important Meal Of The Day!

Walt Disney World has some of the BEST FOOD I have ever had the privelege of tasting – everything is prepared fresh using the best ingredients, and it really shows in the final product.

Breakfast is no exception, they really go above and beyond at the Parks and Resorts to make sure you have plenty of options to choose from so you can start your day off right and fuel up for a day at the Parks!

TGIF Bfast CP One of my personal fave breakfast spots is the Crystal Palace – a character breakfast spot in the Magic Kingdom featuring Winnie The Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet. The food is amazing here – especially “Pooh’s Breakfast Lasagna” – which is essentially a warm berry bread pudding, and they also serve anything and everything breakfast-related – my fave are the Mickey waffles!

TGIF Bfast TuskerI tried Tusker House for the first time last year, and I have to say, I was impressed! Hosted by Donald and friends (decked out in their safari gear!), this African inspired meal serves up the classics as well as unique items like their bobotie (a spiced egg based casserole which is also served at Boma!)

TGIF Bfast POPIf you’re not in the mood for a sit down meal that early in the day, you can always grab something at your WDW Resort, like this freshly made waffle and bacon from the POP Century Resort

TGIF Bfast CRollIf the Magic Kingdom is your early morning Park of choice (it is for me!) then let your nose lead you over to the amazing smells coming from the Main Street Bakery, and grab a coffee and one of these bad boys – a warm, soft, gooey cinnamon roll

….Ok now not only do I miss Disney, but I’m starving. Breakfast time!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Going “Under The Sea” With The Little Mermaid

There have been a lot of changes around Walt Disney World lately – many of them can be seen in the New Fantasyland, where you will find Ariel and her friends come to life on the ride “Under The Sea – Journey Of The Little Mermaid

Sign

Eric Castle

  Shells

You enter the ride through Prince Eric’s Castle, and board a “shell” to take your journey

Ride Ariel

Kiss The Girl

Dancing FIsh

Where else but WDW can you ride through the sea and see mermaid, a prince, and dancing fish all in one place?

After you are done with your voyage, head over to Ariel’s Grotto and meet the Mermaid herself!

I personally cannot WAIT to check out this area and the ride when I head to WDW in December – The Little Mermaid is a classic from my childhood that I watched over and over – and seeing it come to life would be a dream come true!

WDW – Where To Start?

So you have made it to Walt Disney World – hooray! Now the question is – where do I start? Which Park do I visit first? Well, maybe this can help you make that decision…

So what’s the verdict? Personally, I am a Magic Kingdom girl all the way, which is confirmed with this chart!

(I borrowed this image from the Disney Parks Blog – it was too fun not to share!)

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Inside The “Fantasy”

I just got back from a cruise – and it was an amazing time! My husband and I sailed to Key West FL and Cozumel Mexico and got to snorkel, shop, and enjoy the sun and warm weather.

Our vacation was not a Disney Cruise, but it DID get me to thinking – if I love cruises and Disney so much, why haven’t I combined those two and seriously considered booking a Disney Cruise for us?

So, I did some research on Disney’s newest ship, the Disney Fantasy, and here is what I found:

  Fantasy Ship
It’s breathtaking, even from the outside!

Fantasy Atrium

A beautiful grand atrium where you are greeted by none other than Minnie herself

Fantasy Room

Nautical themed staterooms with that touch of “Mouse” décor

Fantasy Bar

Lots of dining and entertainment options, both for families with kids and adults too

Fantasy Pool

A huge pool complete with Mickey design and a water slide

Disney Cruises can take you to places like Alaska, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Europe and more! Check it out here to see where they can take you

There are few things better than sipping a fruity drink while sunbathing on the deck of a cruise ship – if you haven’t experienced this, I suggest you get on it, pronto!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – What A View!

There are so many amazing things about Walt Disney World – The Parks The Rides, The Food…..etc…that it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the experience of it all!

Sometimes it’s worthwhile just to step back and take a look at your surroundings – you’ll find there’s really a LOT to see:

TGIF Views AKL

If you choose to stay at WDW’s Animal Kingdom Lodge -this could be the view off your balcony of the savannah, where you can watch the animal roam about (yep, those are giraffes out there!)

TGIF Views Tree AKThe Tree Of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is really something – its amazing to gaze at, but I also suggest that you get up close and personal with it and check out all the amazing animal engravings and designs – it’s a real work of art

TGIF Views CaliGrillThe view from the balcony at California Grill at the top of the Contemporary Resort – you can really see it all, and it’s quite the spot for firework viewing too!

TGIF Views MainStAnd my all time personal favorite view – standing at the base of Main Street, where you can get a great view of Cinderella’s Castle. Standing here makes me feel like I have come home

Talk about some great views!
