T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Tote Your Stuff In Style (DISNEY Style Of Course!)

MeBags

It’s no secret that Disney likes to merchandise it’s brand – you can buy pretty much anything and everything you can think of emblazoned with a Mickey head on it. Pens, keychains, tech accessories, clothes, toys, and a personal favorite of mine – BAGS! Purses, totes, backpacks, shoulder bags, crossbody bags, suitcases – they have it all! Check out some of these adorable styles:

Bags Pixar

How cute is this suitcase for your little one? Or you – I am thinking about getting one myself…it’s hard sided which makes it nice and sturdy!

Bags Lesportsac

Or if you’re more of a “pack lightly” person (what is that like anyway? As I would not know ha!) then what about a cute crossbody bag from the Disney Lesportsac collection?

Bags Ipad

Keep your ipad safe and secure in this super cute Minnie tablet case

Bags Vera

And then there is the coveted Disney Vera Bradley collection – so coveted that its currently sold out online, but never fear – you can sign up for email notifications so you can be sure to snag one as soon as they become available

Bags Dooney

There’s a whole designer Dooney and Bourke Disney collection available online and at the Parks – I personally love this sketch type style – nice and big for all my stuff!

Check out the bags and totes section of the Disney Store, and be sure to have your credit card ready – as there are some really cute bags on there! Places like Target and Wal-Mart also usually have a small assortment of reasonably priced bags featuring some of your favorite Disney characters – so be sure to check those out too!

The Long LONG Wait Between Disney Trips…

Pooh10

Why is my husband gloomy like Eeyore? Because he doesn’t know when his next Walt Disney World vacation is going to be – and that can make days, weeks, months drag on without any end in sight…this may seem strange to those of you who don’t love Disney the way we do – but it’s like anything else really – you gotta have something to look forward to, right? For us Disney freaks, its our Disney vacations – the saving, the planning, the anticipation – it all leads up to some truly amazing experiences and makes for amazing memories too!

So obviously I like to plan my next WDW trip as soon as I return home from my last one (hey, it helps fend off the “post Disney blues”, which can be invaluable!), but unfortunately for me, I won’t get to do any of that anytime soon. Sad, right? Well, sorta – but in reality its pretty awesome – because the reason that we aren’t sure when our next vacation will be is that we are going to be HAVING A BABY! That’s right, a little future Disney lover of our own, due in October! We can’t wait – there will be so much to experience with a new addition to our family!

One of the things I can’t wait to experience is taking my child to Disney for the first time! I was 4 the first time I went, and I would like to think I can wait that long to bring my kid – any younger and you really don’t remember/understand much of whats going on I think. It’s very strange to me to think that the next Disney trip I plan may very well be with my CHILD! I am slowly getting used to the idea (along with all the rest of it of course – pregnancy, daycares, breastfeeding vs formula, ultrasounds, unwanted advice from anyone and everyone…) it’s a lot to take in! One thing that is helping me is remembering that my husband and I will get to expose our kid to the things we loved as children – and for me, that is of course – DISNEY!

Basically, I can’t wait to start planning my Disney 2018 trip – it will be here before I know it!

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Feeling “Spring-y” Thanks To The Epcot Flower And Garden Festival!

It’s almost April, it’s officially been Spring for almost a week now – and to me, this is a big deal. Not because I love spring (I actually don’t, oddly enough), but because this winter has been BRUTAL for the Northeast US – and I am SO over it. All of the signs of spring give me hope – including the signs that are popping up at WDW – like the 2014 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival – a sure sign of Spring, this annual festival runs from March 5th -May 18th, and features beautiful topiaries, thousands of flowers, amazing landscaping, presentations by your favorite HGTV stars, and tons of great food too! The food part is relatively new, as the festival has started to add more “food booths” – featuring fresh and locally grown produce delivered in new and delicious ways!

Here is just some of what you can expect to see at this year’s festival:

Which WDW Special Event Is Right For Me?

Castlexmasdaytime

Going to Walt Disney World is the most fun vacation ever (well, at least I think so!) – and I love everything about it. Having been several times, I am always looking forward to what new and exciting things await me on my next trip – and sometimes I like to check out some of the special events offered at Disney – here are some of the most popular ones, which will hopefully help you choose if any of them would be right for you and your family:

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival: Runs from March-May each year, and features brilliant displays of flowers, topiaries, and special dining options that offer dishes created from the fresh, local produce showcased in the festival. It’s hosted by HGTV, so there are tons of workshops, demonstrations, and shows offered too that feature your favorite HGTV stars. This one is a must-do for all of you with green thumbs out there – and for those of you who aren’t so inclined (like me!), don’t worry, you can still enjoy the beautiful landscaping and delicious dining options available!

Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: This fall event delivers big on flavor (as its name promises!), and features dozens of different food booths that showcase cuisine from all over the globe. You can literally spend all day grazing through Epcot and trying new and different dishes paired with exotic wines – and you can also check out the cooking demonstrations by famous chefs – now if that’s not a foodies dream come true than I don’t know what is!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party: Held on various nights in September and October in the Magic Kingdom, the party features characters in costume, a special parade, and of course trick-or-treating and candy! Guests are encouraged to dress in appropriate (aka not too scary or revealing) costumes to help get them in the Halloween Spirit! And of course the Magic Kingdom is all decked out in fall finery – with leaves and pumpkins everywhere! Characters you don’t normally get to see come out for this event too, and many of them even dress in costume as well!

Run Disney Events: Disney hosts a variety of half marathon, 5k, and fun run events throughout the year – a great excuse to get a team together and train, and what a perfect reason to get in shape, a trip to Disney! It’s a fun time with plenty of characters, and some really cool medals too! I personally have considered taking up running just so I could run in the Princess half marathon and wear a tutu while running around beautiful WDW! But then I remember how long a half marathon is…and I change my mind ha

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party: This special party is held during November and December at the Magic Kingdom, and it features characters (and the man himself – SANTA!), a festive parade, free cookies and cocoa, live entertainment, and best of all – they make it SNOW on Main Street! Ok, so its not real and its made of soap – but still, snow?! In DISNEY!! We attended this party in 2011, and I really enjoyed it – the atmosphere was great, and the parade was really well done. Oh, and did I mention there were cookies? Mmm….cookie…

These events usually require some planning – you will want to make hotel reservations far in advance, and grab your special event tickets as soon as possible too so that you can ensure that you will be enjoying all that these events have to offer!

Personally? I LOVE LOVE Disney at Christmas time – there is nothing better than the décor, the food, and the atmosphere – and to me its worth braving the LARGE crowds to enjoy it all. What about you – what events would you love to check out at WDW?

T.G.I.F. Pic Of The Week – Let Them Eat Cake!

I know that I am always going on (and on, and on…) about how amazing the Food at Walt Disney World is – and it’s with good reason, I swear – it really is some of the best food I have ever tasted! One thing I especially enjoy at Disney is desserts, specifically their CAKES – they make so many different and delicious varieties that it’s hard to pick just one to have for dessert…so why not have them all?

BCupcake

This is the famous Butterfinger Cupcake that is available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – and if he looks scared, it’s with good reason – this thing is HUGE – tall and wide, it encompasses a fudgy center, moist chocolate cake, a giant pile of whipped frosting, and a chocolate shell coated in Butterfinger pieces. Seriously amazing.

CakePop

They started making these cake pops a few years ago, and I wasn’t sure if I would like them – but I REALLY do! The cake is dense and super flavorful, and the white chocolate coating is the perfect amount of sweet. Plus they come in super cute holiday styles like this Mickey Snowman (sharing not required…)

No matter what you’re celebrating, Disney can help you out by customizing a cake to fit your every whim and desire – you could go for a standard classic Mickey like this one, or really go nuts – anything is possible with the Disney Celebration team

Cake Wedding

Of course you can always go with the over the top Disney Wedding – complete with beautiful tiered Castle cake (looks almost too pretty to eat doesn’t it?)

Here’s a new Disney cake offering – a “Cake Cup” – layers of cake and frosting, available at Cheshire Café in the Magic Kingdom – Check out Disney Food Blog’s Review for more info

At WDW you really can have your cake and eat it too – pretty much any and all kinds – and they are all delicious enough to satisfy even the biggest sweet tooth out there!
